KC comicon 2014 mar14-16
« on: March 03, 2014, 03:53:02 AM »
Not Big Star Wars guest list this time around
— John Ratzenberger and Femi Taylor are to be in attendance

Mostly a Star Trek year with pretty much the whole next generation cast there except for Patrick steward.
Shatner will be there though.

Looking forward to the vendors myself. I will take the wife and plenty of pics.

Oh, I don't know. I want a marvel universe aurora fig and will probably look at the Star Wars and gijoe figures.
I'm sure I'll see something I can't live without. The wife was eyeing the Star Wars bathrobes last year.

Gearing up for the big show this weekend. Lavar burton dropped out.
The only Star Wars guests are ooola and John ratzenberger.
Who did he play in esb, Shawn?

Shatner is asking $75 per autograph and photo op.

I may take a backpack this time. Perhaps that will counter the overflowing arms factor.

I thought Levar Burton was the Chief Engineer on the newer Star Trek Enterprise with Patrick Stewart? Not sure why I am thinking that.

I thought so, he was the character who was blind and wore some type of vizor so he could see as I recall.

finally found some time to upload some pics from this event. It was very crowded. We got there right after the gates opened on Sat and there was a line of probably 5000 people that wrapped around the bartle hall convention center. there were plenty of costumers and all sorts of vendors. I seen some black series stuff but not from the latest waves. There were some loose figures to be had but not as many as last year. The booth favorites seemed to be walking dead and pacific rim. Seen a lot of gg stuff but no sideshow. I didnt bother with the media guests but they had a decent crowd. the 501st was there with a great shoot a trooper booth and a nice raffle for a custom sw ford rampage. I seen the mando mercs and a local astromech builders club were also there.

I have got about 17 more shots to share but am out of time this morning. I will get em up later

I always enjoy seeing things like this. Thanks Clint, for posting this up.

No new SW Stuff? What the hey, I figured it would be way overpriced, but you would see some of the newer items. Perhaps even vendors are having a rough time of it? That was a great Predator Cosplay along with Sucker Punch and Wonder Woman. Was this the first time your wife attended with you? I am thinking no, but did everyone have fun? If you have more pics I can't wait to see em. I wish I had something this close in my backyard.

Yeah, it was a good time. The wife had another deal to attend so I took my stepson to his first comicon instead. He liked it so much that he was already planning for next years event by the time we left.
The vendors probably did alright as there were so many attendees. There were good deals to be had. You just had to look for them.
More pics are forthcoming.

Glad to hear it. I know one thing if I lived closer I would be tagging along. I hope to get out there one year just to say I went one year.

I would love to have you here. I learned my lesson from last year and took in a large plastic sack to tote my goodies in.
More pics.

you can see a gg giant droid three pack above this vendor. Pricey

Dr. Who was pretty big with the vendors this year as well. I seen some figures but not the female that Dan had showed us.

the guy in this shot looks like Stan Lee but its not him.

Here is that Ford that the 501st were raffling off. It had an electric bed cover that lifted to reveal neon lighting and a rubber han in carbonite prop.

I have a few more shots to post including my goodie haul but im outta time for now. Gotta go make parts.
