Seems like I've been doing quite a bit of minor customizing for my son lately...

Today I received some GI Joe wave 3 POC Duke figures in the mail. Duke comes with some sort of heavy rocket launcher/double quad cannon backpack. When I first saw the accessory, I thought it would make a cool weapon for a heavy Clone or Imperial trooper and when Sean got his AT-AT Snowtrooper squad, we decided to see how we could rig the beast on one of his troopers.

It was fairly easy, because I wanted to keep it playable.
The back peg for the cannon had to go and since the shoulder braces of the cannon fit right onto the Snowtrooper backpack, a bit of superglue joined the cannon's pack and the Snowtrooper pack together. The whole construction still can be pegged in and taken out of the Snowtrooper's back, the two cannons can be swung up and back and rest on the shoulders of the trooper in the firing position.
I superglued the eight barrels in place, because they came somewhat loosely pegged in.

Surprisingly enough, the figure doesn't need a stand, it is very well balanced when wearing the double quad cannon pack.

Okay, enough talk, here's the finished Heavy Gunner:

I think I'll make me one, too...

Yeah.
Now you know what they mean when they call somebody a son of a gun...
This thing could also look cool on a Mando or some bounty hunter or whatever hired muscle.

interesting, this is from the newest wave of POC gi-joe figs?  I hadn't seen any of them yet...

it looks good on the trooper, reminds me of the steady cam clone gunner.

I got the Dukes from an Ebay seller in Oklahoma, but AFAIK the wave 3 figures are available through retail in the States.
Wave 4 should be in retail soon, too.
Big-gun Duke is a wave 3 figure, though.

Okay, I've revisited my Sarlacc Squad customs and came up with a somewhat more rugged version of Cap Malice.
You will notice that I've shortened the new Vintage Endor Commando's trenchcoat considerably and also re-worked the front. The coat is very bulky so I also tightened it in the back down the center seam.
Other than that, Cap is pretty much a GI Joe Pursuit od Cobra Recondo figure with a Bespin Luke pistol belt holding a Marauder Gun Runners DL-44 Blaster pistol, rifle and helmet from the Endor Commando plus a set of goggles from a GI Joe ROC ParaViper.

He turned out very sharp, Volker! A perfect mix of parts and i like your mods to the softgoods.

Remind me to throw in one of those sets of goggles with your other parts.
