Thanks to everyone who submitted an entry to our mini rig contest! We will use this thread to vote for the winner of Hangarbay's awesome ARC 170 Fighter. I tell you they are all very creative winners from what I am seeing. If you are not familure with each entry please have another look in the thread where all of these came to life. I have picked my favorite photo from each entry as a guide to who you are voting for.

Question came up in chat this afternoon - can you vote for your own entry?
-
I believe that alot of people do, doc. Were I to have made an entry, there is no doubt that it wouldn't have held a candle to alot of these other great creations.
Great job, LE, getting the voting thread up so quickly! Now, the obvious hard part is, which one will I pick? There are so many great entries.
Congrats to you all for spending your skills to make this such a great event to watch. This is definitely a contest that we can be proud of.
-
Man, lots of great vehicles. I voted for the vehicle that to me, felt like it captured that original wacky "mini-rig" feeling that we all know and recognize as classic vintage Kenner toy-making!
may the best rig win!
-
That was a hard decision. All entries are great.
good luck
-
I've chosen my favourite, and it's not mine!!!
I have to say that all entries are absolutely superb....
-
Well I have voted, geesh it wasn't easy.
Great job putting this voting thread together L.E. you picked most of my favorite pics for their entries too. Irregardless of the voting folks, I consider this one of the best contests we have ever run and some of the creations have just been jaw dropping and you are all winners in my eyes.
I can't wait to see what the boys come up with for the next contest too.
-
Great job guys, hard to pick one.
-
This is insane!!
I have to let it set in alittle bit!!!
I really do like them all, I like them all more then mine!!!
I'm going to have to look them over a few more times!!
Thanks, it's a honor to be listed with you all!!!
Rich
-
This isn't fair...I want to pick them all ;D
-
As much as I would have liked to pick my own there are far too many amazing entries here. Awesome job everyone. It's just given me the bug to do more and also given me so many ideas. I was torn between three different entries, but finally settled on the one that I would most want for myself.
-
I still haven't voted yet. This one is *tough*! Good work, y'all!
-
Is it possible to change my picture to the last photo I posted so you can see the rear of the bike?
-
Ok I cast my vote after coming back and looking at them a bunch of times!!!
I really like the work I see from this customizer, does not matter if it's figures or vehicles.
Great work!!!
Rich
PS
Wow!!! I got a vote!!! I see this as a win!!! To get a vote along side all the great work i see here!!
I'm looking at this as a win!!!
Thanks
for the vote whoever you are!!!
Rich

Did I get the one you wanted DD?
If anyone else wants me to use a different pic for this voting thread, just pm it to me and I will replace it.
I think L.E. got the best shots of them though.
-
Good work Tamer! Yes if anyone prefers a different picture just let us know. I have not voted yet either, man this is a tought one.
-
all of you guys did way awesome! i had a hard time deciding.. seeing all the great works has me excited for what's to come for April!
-
this was definitely hard to decide on. There were 2 that I went back and forth on and had such a hard time picking. Such a great contest, thanks to L.E. and Clint for putting it all together!
-
Thanks for putting my rigg on the front page as the pic for the link of the contest!!!
thanks Tamer!!!
-
Rich, what colors did you use on your Armadillo? I don't know if it is the actual coloring you used or the shading/weathering you did, but that has a very "German Ambush" feel to the paint-job. That's something I'm wanting to pull off on some of my 1/35-scale armor models, but I just don't know how to go about it - and yours has pretty well hit the look I want. Tell me how you pulled it off! The Lejanish Military is counting on you!
-
Thanks for putting my rigg on the front page as the pic for the link of the contest!!!
thanks Tamer!!!
I liked yours too. This one was too hard for me to vote.
-
Thanks alot Guy's!!
The oringal color was the tan color you see!!!
Then I used various Sharpies, pigment markers, diluted paint to weather it!!!
It is a G I Joe toy I don't know the name of it I bought it loose at a comic book show.
I wish I had the time to it, I would have put a stripe or something on it and them weathered it but I only had a few days to do it so I ncked it out real quick!!
But thanks for all the great words!!
Rich
-
Sharpies? For weathering? New technique! How'd you do that?
-
all the rigs are very cool had a very hard time deciding all winners in my book great job guys!!!!!!!
-
Great job to everyone. There are so many awesome entries here it's hard to choose, but I managed to vote.
-
Awesome entries everyone... I voted for what I thought made a good mini-rig.. which was pretty hard as there are a bunch of outstanding lil' vehicles there... hopefully one of these days I'll finish mine.
-
They all look amazing! Love the AT-ST tank, the bad ass Skull faced swooper and his swoop... the rebel trooper's vehicle! All of them! Woot! Had a tough time picking just one... so i had to go with an old standard. Good luck guys!
-
This is gonna be a tough choice.
-
WOW!!
I got 4 votes!!!
That is so cool!!!
I can't believe it!!!
With all the great riggs!!! I am so honored!!!
Thanks for the votes!!!
I can't tell you how happy this make me!!!
Rich

Hey, it looks like Hangarbay94 won the contest! Sweet, since its not much to win your own ship I am gonna donate the prize in the form of $50 paypal deposit to spend where you would like.
Thanks to all the great entrants and it was great to see all the entries and the works in progress and see the participation in the voting.
Stay tuned, L.E. has another contest ready to roll too. Congrats once again to Hangarbay94 for the getting the most votes, it was a great Rig. Ofcourse I thought they all were!
-
WHAT! I won... It seems as though I can't even give away my customs any more...Sheeesh!
That can't be! I am totally surprised by the result as I felt that there were so many other entries that were better than mine, I even voted for another custom...
But seriously folks, I am really flattered and obviously surprised by the result. I have sent a PM to Tamer as I feel that the prize should go to a charitable cause, my preferred charity is Save the Children, and I will be sending Tamer a link in order to make a donation. As for the poor lonely Arc fighter, it still needs a home so I will update everyone on it's next destination.
Thanks so much to everyone who voted for me...
-
Congrats to Jules! Great job to you ad everyone that entered. Everyone has really stepped up there game for these last few contest! So many great entries as you can tell by the voting. Several entries had a lot of interest and received votes. So reach around and pat yourself on the back for a job well done! We are all winners here as we gained some awesome vehicles for the collection.
As Tamer said, stay tuned, we have another heater of a contest that will be announced later today.
-
Jules I am paypaling you the deniro, I have no control over what you do with it after that, but I would really like for you to spend it on yourself. Please.
-
Congratulations!
-
This is awesome news! Mind if we feature your vehicle on AFE's home page, HB94?
-
Good job HB94! Everyone showed a lot of creativity and made some awesome vehicles.
-
Congratulations!
this was a great competition
-
Congratulations Hangarbay94. This was such a fun contest. Thanks to LE for getting it going. I cannot wait to see what the next one is...
-
Wow, that was some fierce competition with some stellar entries.
I agree with LE that the skills and effort shown have increased with these recent contests.
A big Congrats goes to Jules for chalking up a win on this one.
The next contest is gonna rock as well so, stay tuned......
-
Congratulations HangarBay!
-
Guys, you are all awesome!
I've decided to send the Arc Fighter to the little boy called Eli who ISY are raising money for right now. I'm going to put together some presentation artwork and an Ace Azzameen figure to accompany the ship. As this ship is a one of a kind, I'm hoping he'll appreciate it!
I will send the ship and mention of all the entrants of the competition. I'm away on business next week, but will see to it when I return home.
-
Jules you are the most giving person I know. This is a great gesture and the best ending to a contest I can imagine. Hats off to you sir.
-
HB94, in the words of Bill and Ted: that is most most excellent! I'm sure Eli will be honored and thrilled to get such a fun and unique toy! Hats, helmets, hoods, masks, and head-wraps off to you, sir!
-
Well now, that is just too cool, Jules. Very touching, and so great!
-
Congrats, Jules!
And congrats to everyone who entered. I haven't seen this many good-looking entries in ages.
On a side-note, I think I finally found parts to build the cargo-arm I *wanted* on my mini-rig. You know - a couple of weeks late. Or more. That's ok - I plan to revisit the lil guy and tweak it up proper with plenty more detail, as I've encountered a few more bits that turn out to look rather nice when properly placed.
-
Hi folks, I'm back!!!
Just a quick update, the Arc fighter is now ready for shipping. Simon Smith owner of Pack and Send Leeds has agreed to carefully pack and ship the custom vehicle via courier free of charge, so I'm just waiting for a confirmation of a shipping address and the one-off vehicle will be making it's way to Eli!
I'll update you as soon as it leaves UK shores....
-
Jules you are the most giving person I know. This is a great gesture and the best ending to a contest I can imagine. Hats off to you sir.
I absolutly second that, HB94, you are the man!! A true gentleman!
and of course my big congratz for winning this contest!!
Awesome entries all around!
-
Sorry guys, don't mean to knock the current competition off the top spot but I need to let you all know about the ARC fighter.
After speaking to Action Figure Empire it has been decided that the most appropriate thing to do with the vehicle would be to auction her here at the Yards, the proceeds will go to help Eli and his family.
As a parent my heart goes out to Eli and his family and this is the least I can do for them. The vehicle should be up for auction this week and is all ready to be shipped via courier to the winner.
Please keep an eye on the forums.
All the best,
Hangarbay94
-
Thank you for your continued support and generosity HB! Truly a generous offer! I look forward to the bidding!
Just wanted to remind you there's a link to a new Eli video on the "The Force Is Strong With Him" thread, very heart warming! (and I PMed Tamer another video to embed there as well)
-
Truely a classy move hangerbay!!! This shows true class man my hat is off to ya!
