I'm betting this will be 2012, so like they did with CV, they'll start promoting it 8-9 months ahead.  The big rumor is Indianapolis again, and I SO hope that's true!

Here we go folks. Looks like FL again.

After the impressive (most impressive) success of last year's Empire-themed Star Wars Celebration V, we are thrilled to announce that the biggest party this side of the galaxy, Star Wars Celebration VI, is setting down August 23 - 26, 2012 back at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida!

That is the first week of school for me, there is no way I could get off for that time frame daggone it! I guess I have a year to work on it though.

Yeah, I thought I would melt in Florida in August last time, but it was pretty much just a very short walk from the motel to the convention center which is really just surrounded with hotel and motel type places. It was hot, don't get me wrong, but pretty much just a ten minute thing to and from each day, and I wouldn't let that deter me again to be honest.

The biggest thing I see is the fact that this date is going to coincide with most parents start up time for their kids in school. I told myself when I go again that I want my daughter to be with me so she can have the fun I saw so many kids having last time and I can't fathom how some parents, which I feel is probably most of us, are gonna be able to have our kids give up their first week of school to do this. If it was the third or fourth week I could probably handle it, but surely parents don't want their kids to start the year with one week's worth of work to make up before they even start. Ofcourse with the early announcing I guess that can give us time to hopefully plan around it, but was hoping if it was Florida again they would have an early August date or even a September or October scenarion. Daggone I told myself I wasn't gonna miss anymore of em. Pat and I just had a blast. If you are a Star Wars Fan this is one of the must attend events at least once I would say.

That's interesting... I wonder if enough parents complain that they will move the date. I don't see why they can't move it one or two weeks.

I'd hoped that it would be in Indy since then it would be less than a two hour drive for me.  If it weren't for bad luck...  I could get the time off, but by that time most of my friends will either be back at university or work and I don't really want to go by myself...

well, looks like the wife and I will be making our arrangements to head on out. It would be cool to get a shipyards contingency out there, but it looks like the location may be a little out of the way for most. I'm in Texas so the heat in Florida shouldn't be too bad.

Booked a hotel....still need to buy my 4-day passes...   Very excited to go again.  CV was my first convention and I told my wife we were going to CVI regardless of the location.  I am glad it is back in Orlando.  It is a great area with lost to offer for visitors.  For you out-of-towners worried about the Florida heat during summer, my advice is to stay in-doors.  Living here, you more or less get used to the heat if not the humidity.  During the summer I stay inside except to exercise and mow the lawn.  Two things you may want to bring are an umbrella and a refillable water bottle.  If you are going to be outside, skip the soda and stick with water.  Looking forward to meeting some of you folks at the show.

Okay this is my first post on here guys and gals.celebration VI,I'm excited to hear it's in orlando again, cause I live about an hour away.I did go to CV,but only for 2 days, and I waited in line for 3 of those hours to hear mark hamill speak, and boy was it worth it.I'm planning on staying for all 4 days this time around, and I'm saving every penny until I get there.

Welcome JediMindtrix to the Shipyards.

I am still up in the air about being able to go, but if I can find a way I will be there. I went to CV and had a blast.

As for the heat being from the NE I thought I would melt, but it wasn't bad at all in my opinion.

Thanx Tamer, may the force be with you.you gotta find a way to make it.I actually thought when I went to CV it would be a once in a lifetime opportunity, but I guess lighting does strike twice.

Ah, I'll probably be going. (Though I'm not sure at the moment.) Though, I figure that Celebrations will be the same location every 2 years. So hopefully C7 & C8 will drop by in a convention center near North Carolina or any states beside it.

Well I finally have some good news to relate. While I am still trying to sort out some way to go and keep hiting a brick wall I am pleased to announce that ISY will have a Site Presence there thanks to one Luke Sprywalker who has graciously volunteered to go and cover this for us. Thanks Spry.

I am sure Spry has some other information he will want to share later today and in the coming weeks so I will try not to steal any of his Thunder. If me and Pat can't go, I can't think of a better person to represent us.

I am still trying to find someway, but right now it would mean I could loose my real job if I do this so of course I can't do that.

Tamer thanks for the announcement! I didn't think I would make it to C6 but some things have changed and I am going! I am so excited that I and my family will make it to Orlando this year. I hope to see many of my fellow Yarders there, I would love to meet with anyone who will be there or in the area. Even if we need to get together for dinner or a drink after. Anyone going feel free to PM me for contact info while there.

If anyone wants to find me I will be in the diorama room most of the time helping Frank Diorio! That is right the man that is responsable for getting me into all of this crazyness when I met him at C2! I encourage everyone to come make a part of Tatooine, display it with all the other creations and the last day you get to take it home. What a better way of remembering your good times at C6 than looking at a diorama you made for the rest of your life?

C6 was a BLAST! I highly suggest everyone start saving money today so they have no excuse not to make it to the next one! Big plans are in the works for customizers. Man, I need a vacation from my vacation! 4-5 hrs sleep each night, at the convention center between 8 and 8:30 every morning, leave at 9, 10 even close to 11, eat dinner after that, take shower, go to bed, get up and do it again...for 5 days, yea this all started the day before the show. Not to mention we walked all over Hollywood Studios, Universal and Lego land for 2 days before the big show. I am officialy broke down, my legs barely work and my feet need to be replaced with new ones. Where is the Emperor with that medical capsule when you need him?

L.E.,

We absolutely loved the footage you fed us. I can't wait to see what else you got yourself into. Trust me, I totally understand about needing a vacation from your vacation. Thats how I felt when I got back from CV and I didn't do half of what you did. And yes, I have heard bits and pieces of what I hope will be a true customizing workshop for Celebration 7. I am so hoping they expand the customizing panels too. The way you guys packed the house I am sure this will be a no brainer for the convention organizers.
