Veterans Day 2020

(1/1)

Tamer:

With all the craziness out there today I wanted to make sure we remember today is the day we celebrate veterans and their families.

Without your fine folks we wouldn't have a hobby period, let alone decent lives. It is hard for me to imagine the fear that some folks must live in today because of tyranny out there that our current armed forces and veterans have protected us from.

Having served myself I know how hard it is to be away from your family during those special times of year and holidays and what a combat theatre is like and what you have to go through to survive. It is hard folks. It is hard coming back to regular life after that too. Personally, I don't think we do enough for veterans here in the US. Still, that is another issue and this is a thread to thank our vets. I just wanted the vets out there and here on a regular basis to know how much I appreciate them and honor their service.

RC-1136:
What branch and MOS were you, Tamer? Didn't know you served. Cool to know that. But thank you for your service. And I agree - vets don't get the recognition they should. And they especially don't get the mental/psychological help they should when coming back from combat.

This is something that's practiced in LEO and military circles.

Tamer:
I was in the 82nd back from 89 to 93. I was 13Echo; cannon fire direction specialist. I directed fire for 155s, mainly towed howizters.

I just wish we would help vets out more. I think any combat vet should have really free health care, of their own choosing the provider, for the rest of their lives. With as much as our government spends on junk I would love to see a politician push for that.

Woo!! Airborne! And yes, I absolutely agree. They definitely deserve the best, since they give the most.
