Hi folks..
I've been wanting to paint up a few clones for a while now...so here is a bit of a crowd pleaser...
The 33rd Sappers are a battalion of Combat Engineers, this squad were the first troops to arrive at Endor. The Emperor wanted to ensure that the system was quiet, so the 33rd Sappers were covertly drpped on the planed with enough materials to build a small scanning array. The battalion's orders were to remain hidden and to scan for any ships entering the system. After 12 months without a single contact the group set about building a larger base, that would later be enlarged to become the shield generator for the Death Star 2 while it was under construcion.

Cheers Fiala,
Funny you should refer to R4-U9, I was talking to Jay (Wraith9) today, and he pointed out that it is an R5 unit, not an R4 unit DOH!
I can't tell you how many re-paints that droid has had...It's been like my practice model.
Very nice work, Jules. That is a sharp looking sniper, sir!
but might I request a before and after images of the photoshop work on this figure so that we can appreciate the custom in it's entire physical form, not just it's edited "production" artwork form?
awesome work mate ! love the new characters ,is it me or is that a sirius black head on Tanner?
is " jenson " inspired by jenson button ? from formula one
ahh right . well when the droid db-5 comes up im sure where you've named it from
Tanner is awesome. Mind sharing the recipe?
Hi everyone,
I've been a bit busy with work of late so I apologise if I haven't been keeping up with events. There seems to be some fresh faces around here, and I've been blown away by images of recent customs on the front page lately.
This weekend I had a bit of time to work on the pilots for the next chapter of X-Wing Alliance (see the Graphic Fiction forum). Here are the pilots and their names. I just need to alter the female pilots hair colour then the pilots will be complete.
Some of you may recognise the head of the pilot on the far left, he was a Jedi Monk as seen in the Darkchild Saga, I think Doc Outland created him.
If anyone has any suggestions or continuity issues please let me know as any comments will be greatly received.
Special thanks goes to Viper Aviator for creating the Squadron's insignia.

Great looking Squadron you have here Julian. I like the idea of changing the hair lolor on the female. How about changing the skull cap on Cad Bane head to tan like the pre helmet that comes with the A-Wing pilot. Good job again!
Rich, the head is one I casted from B'arin Apma - the black-armored Mandalorian from the EE boxed set. I believe Clint has the head available in his shop now. In original Hasbro paint, the head is *very* "baby-faced." I added some wrinkles around the eye-corners and the forehead and gave him a goatee. Giving him some grey hair, as well, helped to "age" the face. He ended up looking almost dead-on like a dozer operator I worked with several years ago - who also happened to be a Star Wars junkie! Gotta love serendipity.
As the pic was loading, I was giggling and saying, "Hey, I know that guy!"
Yes it was you who created him and I've been dying to resurrect him as I loved the figure you created for Darkchild. His face just oooozes character and I suspect we will be seeing much more of him in the coming months and years....
Great work. Any more pics? Individual pics?
The grittiness and realism is what gets my attention: an awesome display of creativity, style, and it leaves you wanting to know more about these people. Incredible job!
I love it! If you don't mind I want to make a character that fits into this world. If it's good enough maybe you can put him in your story. Maybe we could get a collaboration of customizers to add a character or two to the story, then poor Jules will have to figure out how to add them to the story line.
Hi Yall
Here are some re-paints of the troops featured in the Galactic Conflict graphic novel. I've also almost completed The Guadian's Robot Xorbis. You'll be seeing these guys in action on the Fan Fiction Forum.

Oh yeah, back on the front page.
Don't forget we are gonna interview Jules for CAFN this coming Thursday at 6:30 PM Eastern.
Jules, I ain't gonna lie...your version is so much better than mine! I never really was truly happy with mine, and you've captured the essence of what I was trying to accomplish. Brilliant, my friend!
Not only is the figure impressive but the photography is exciting! Great work Jules!!!
Lucasclones Yep! that's precisely the look I was after...Thought so and you achieved it!
Love the crew Jules!
Paint apps are outstanding and the color choices are very smart.
Hey, have you been able to experiment with the matte finishes yet? It almost looks like you may have used the technique here.
Great work!
Jules, just seal the with Testors Dull Cote. It turns any paint matte.Testors Dullcote is an amazing product...really is a must have.
You know.....I think I would like to see one of those security droids wearing an orange snowtrooper or imperial army helmet.
Oh, no no no ... Jules, if feeling inferior due to the influx of newcomers forces you to turn out figures like these, then BY ALL MEANS! please continue to feel inferior! And eh, continue to share what you do to overcome this feeling. ;D That way we'll know if your fears are foundless...
Yakface!
Thanks for the tip, I've been using a similar technique but it's been self taught, so your advice will be invaluable for my next custom. If you read this reply, please can you advise on clothing texture. I've been starting with a mid tone, then dry brushing a lighter tone and then finishing with a dark wash...is there any improvements I can make to the technique?
Sorry folks if I'm getting all technical...
Jules, very fresh. That fuel droid reminds me a lot of some of the 1950's gas pumps seen later in the 80's: they were bright and colorful, but over time have accumulated plenty of oil, grease, rust, and dirt, and the once vibrant shell has been replaced by a grimy rendition of it's former glory. Very good work indeed, and on the front page!
Oh, and your ladies in flight look fantastic as well!
Hiya everyone and Happy Holidays!
This is just a custom figure update showing some re-painted X-Wing Pilots and a new Fuel Droid....I've also added some more realistic hands to the Rodian Flight Commander.

Great looking job man- Very nice :D
Hey your work looks awesome! Your paint work is really nice, love the shadow trooper. I wanted to ask if you made that hallway with the Force Unleashed figures, is it digital or real? Great stuff man.
Ah, I see and that is a great idea for your studio like purposes. Just wondering if you are setting your aperture and fstop manually on your camera? Your pics are always flawless!
Hi folks,
It's been a while since I posted anything on this forum, I'm usually busy designing banners. Anyhow, here are some figures I've been working on for later chapters of the photo novel I'm working on. Anyone who has played the game Rebel Alliance will recognise the family name.
A special mention to Wraith9 who supplied the droid in the colours of the family crest.

Chewie, this image has been created in homage to your Photo Novel style.

Very nice Jules, I made two figures after my oldest daughter a while ago. Personally I think those are among the most rewarding customs to make.
I am curious though, Will you be switching out the arms? They look great as they are but surely they'll restrict the poses you can do for your comics?
Once again I have to apologize for not being as active as I'd like on the forums, I don't have much time at the moment to divert to my hobby, but what time I do have is very precious to me.
This weekend I had some time to complete some customs that are going to be used for the X-Wing Alliance series. (I'm using CGI heads but still using custom figures for body shots).
Here are the first pilots from Teracon (*EDIT- correct spelling Terecon - will amend) Squadron. Based aboard the Winged Cruiser Liberty and one of the early squadrons to receive the new B-Wing starfighter, they are also kitted out with the new Alliance flight suits. Since the battle of Yavin they have suffered severe losses...that is until Rancor Squadron arrive...
*Terecon - An 8 meter long reptilian predator found on the planet Essowyn.

Your new rebel squadron is perfect! I'm a great fan of your custom figures, their paint is impressive. If you're considering to sell one of your custom, let me know.
wonderful memories - and a lovely little robot!
So love the score of this movie and of course the Cygnus design.
That's some excellent paint work, Jules. Love the Homeworld captain and the striking outfits of the other two characters. VINCENT is a home run, though. Wow, you really did the little guy justice! Do you have a 'before' picture as well? Awesome picture effects on that one as well.
