If its anything like the ones I priced I bet it is probably close to a thousand. And yes, I think it looks cool as all get out and seems like it can be made to your exact proportions. And thanks for sharing your references I will take as many as I can get. Who knows who might use this thread one day to research their own mannequin!

Thanks Jay. I am already thinking about adding some sort of base to this (without drilling a hole through the boot) so I can literally have any pose I want.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Tamer, I believe that you have taken another step towards being a custom builder. I really like how things are working out with this project.

what about a similar stand like Sideshow used with the waist clip?

Not bad, but I would want it to be clear and not very noticeable. I was also thinking one heavy base that attached to just one ankle or calf might allow for more poseing, but not sure how to make this. Yet.

Well I have another costuming update. I finally found a few hours to work on my Driver Boots. Thanks to a Facebook Friend who put me onto these boots they started out like this (sorry for the initial awful pics that was my bad camera as my wife was out with good one):

I think goof off has magic in it:

And a little work and snipping later I came out with this:

I need to sew up a small seam where a log was on the upper part, but for all intents these are pretty daggone screen accurate as you can find nowadays and talk about comfortable. Here is the link of the place I purchased the original boots:

WOW! Those look perfect Shawn! Nice job removing that logo, I have had some trouble with the color I want to remove bleeding all over the part it is on when I use goof off. It depends on what you are applyling it to also. What did you use? A cloth rag?

You got it Spry. Having a clean one to immediate wipe up what gunk comes off worked out handly too. I did get a bit of that bleed, but working on it with that clean cloth when it first starts helped clear things up. For a second there though I thought I was destroying my new boots.

A few folks have asked me for direct dimensions so I created this rough tutorial:

Once again if you are looking for anything parts wise or for great pvc mannequin ideas use Spider Hill Prop Works.

Spooky, those would work just fine, especially for a snowtrooper or AT-AT Gunner (just might try to score a pair after I get this done with), but this is what is what is asked for from the 501st:

"Boots

For 501st approval:

White or light Gray “moon” boots. These are very hard to find without some kind of decoration on them, but they are out there.
Snowtrooper style Canadian Muk Luks with ALL lace loops and 'D' rings removed may be used if moon boots are unavailable.

For level two certification (if applicable):

White or Light Gray Moon boots, with no exterior markings or fasteners and a serrated sole."

So yes, those might be ok'd, but always try to go with moon boots if you can find them. Here is the full list:

http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TA_AT-AT_driver

Keep those links and suggestions coming Spooky, I really appreciate all the opinions I can get. After looking at the picture the 501st uses I would say I am spot on so far! ;D
