Title: MandoMuggle's Customs - 6" Light-up Darksaber
Post by: MandoMuggle on March 13, 2020, 11:22:32 AM
Hi everyone, glad I found this site! I’ve been making custom Star Wars figures for a while and posting on a Transformers forum (tfw2005) for a while as Setsuna

Thought I’d post on a SW forum as well with a more Star Wars centric name :)

First up is my custom Din Djarin from The Mandalorian

I wanted a more screen accurate helmet so I found a 1:1scale model, and scaled it to fit the 6” Black series figure

His right shoulder has magnets so it can be swapped out between a shore trooper pauldron or a Beskar pauldron. Gave him a repaint, custom cloth cape and a baby Yoda to look after as well :)

Hope you all like it!

Welcome! Your Mando does look great, and I love the idea of using magnets to facilitate outfit versatility. I’m planning to begin work on a couple 3.75” versions soon and will now plan to go with magnetized right shoulder swap-out pauldrons for both after seeing this.

Hey, thanks for joining us here! I'm glad you found the Shipyards! And I think you made the perfect upgrade for Mando! Hasbro will definitely give us a version of him in his full Beskar Amor. But I doubt they will make a seperate repaint just for the beskar shoulder piece. I agree with previous comments: the magnetic shoulder armor is just brilliant! Couldn't comment right away when I saw your post yesterday because I was on my cell phone. But my jaw certainly dropped! From what I've read many fans are not quite happy with the colors Hasbro decided to paint him in. And seeing your repaint now makes me agree 100% on this matter!

So you scaled down a 1:1 size helmet? That's Pretty impressive! I know that many people on here - including myself - are very thrilled to learn more about 3D-printing. So thank you for joining us! The Child and the wall look awesome, too! There's endless potential here!

Danke!

I used the ear pieces from TheBrokenNerd83's design on Thingiverse and then applied them to the helmet file of DamaskProps bbfet

Here are the links if anyones interested

It was quite a bit of work scaling it down for 1/12th scale... took a bit of trial and error to get it right! I then sanded it down with multiple grits of sandpaper, then polished with acrylic paint for a smooth surface.

I was contemplating on buying another #94 online to make a full Beskar version in all his glory but those scalper prices  :-[

I will just wait for the Hasbro version instead... fingers crossed it comes out soon...

Welcome aboard! That’s a fantastic looking mando!

I was planning on doing one where all the armor pieces can be swapped between Beskar and episode 1&2 versions from the show, kinda like this favourite toy of mine as a kid  ;D

Title: Re: Mauldalorian’s custom figures
Post by: MandoMuggle on March 14, 2020, 07:07:37 PM
This one took a bit of brain juice to figure out

The base figure was the top half of a Figma SHE archetype, with bottom half being a Black Series Sabine

The helmet was another 1:1 3d model scaled down for 1/12 from Etsy by Sunday Props
https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/741445490/the-mandalorian-armorer?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=the+armorer&ref=sr_gallery-1-5&organic_search_click=1&bes=1 (https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/741445490/the-mandalorian-armorer?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=the+armorer&ref=sr_gallery-1-5&organic_search_click=1&bes=1)

The Chest plate was another 1:1 3D model i scaled down then touched up for 1/12 scale courtesy of PapasCreations
https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/753631796/mandalorian-inspired-armorer-chest-plate?ref=yr_purchases (https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/753631796/mandalorian-inspired-armorer-chest-plate?ref=yr_purchases)

The upper parts of her boots were sculpted with clay
The boots themselves were strips of leftover PLA from other 3d prints to make the ridges
The gloves and arms are foam wrapped and sculpted around with a hobby knife on top of the base figure
The garments in between the armor and skirt were layered electric tape
The belt was a combination of electric tape and cardboard
I designed the belt doodads and Hammer and tongs myself, then printed them to match reference photos from the show
Finally, the fur was cut from a $ store fur hat. I sprayed fixative over it to hold the loose furs in place

Hope you all like it!

Yep, I remember that Jango. :) We don't get weird deluxe sets like that anymore, sadly (or much of anything). I picked up a pair of 3.75" Mandos at the beginning of the month, but after having them in hand I think they'll require significant modification. The hip articulation and lack of rocker ankles on 3.75" is criminal, and I envy 6" for that reason. At least the swap out pauldrons will allow for two figures rather than four?

Thanks everyone!

Hope you’re all staying well!

I have a question and would like everyones opinion!

I made mode of Rex’s squad in phase 2 and have two phase 2 clones left.

I have a commander cody who could use some 212th members but i also want two standard phase 2 501st.... should i turn the remaining two trooper bodies onto 501st or 212th?

()rr Heres a photo of Rex and his squad ()rr

ARC Trooper Fives (Phase ii)

The pauldron was 3d printed, then the centre piece is held together by foam which I carved with a hobby knife for the groves and lines.

Right Gauntlet is 3d Printed then wrapped around the figures wrist
Left Gauntlet is a foam piece that's also been carved
Boots were foam cut and carved to form
Chest armor was cut foam and carved.
Rangefinder is moveable where a sheet of styrene was cut to size, then a tiny hole drilled to the helmet and antennae for movement
Backpack was 3d printed
Kama is a sheet of cloth, with electric tape cut to the pattern
Holsters were 3d printed along with the DC17's
Holster straps were electric tape

Very cool rotary cannon; the fact that it spins is definitely the cherry. Do you design and print your own parts? I've been wanting to check out zbrush and perhaps pick up a printer at some point.

Wow, great  work on painting & weathering your Troopers! Did you use acrylic paints from apple barrel? And are those Clone Troopers from Hasbro? I think Phase II are even rarer than Phase I...time for Hasbro to bring them back to The Archive Line and Gaming Greats. Talking about Battlefront - I agree with previous comments. The heavy rotating gun and backpack look totally awesome! Really good work here! Thanks for sharing your squad with us!

Hello back, I just read your question on the font page. Didn’t see it on page one. So it’s either 2 501st or 2 212th Troopers. Tough question.

Here’re my thoughts:

212th Attack Battallion

1. As far as I know there is no 212th Clone Trooper in The Black Series, yet. Neither in Phase I nor in Phase II. So it’d be cool if you made two of them with different deco/equipment before Hasbro.
2. With the new sculpt of the Purge Trooper I’m sure it’s just a matter of time ‘til we’ll see a repaint of him to represent the 7th Sky Corps. When I talked to Hasbro on Comic Con back in December they confirmed that Commander Cody is on top of their list for the Archive line. So of they’re smart they even make a 3-Pack with Cody, an Airborne and a Clone Trooper of 212th Attack Battalion. I think it’s just a matter of time ‘til they also make a 212th Clone Trooper.

I also made a diorama of the “10th level” recently and added some thoughts:

http://www.imperialshipyards.net/SMF/index.php?PHPSESSID=90143e9471ad7724ac95259442d53781&topic=10155.msg216232#msg216232

501st Legion

1. There was one 501st Legion Trooper in the 4-Pack, which is pretty hard to find - even harder here in Germany. So I hope that Hasbro will give us more units in the Archive Line, Main Line or Gaming Greats adding some variation. But with Season 7 of The Clone Wars I suppose they will come with “Ahsoka’s-Legion” helmets.
I think the main pro for you here, is that you already got all the right colors to paint the 501st. Plus they’d match your awesome squad perfectly.

The only con is, I think the “i” on their chest armor is quite tough to paint - even in 1/12 scale. But I’m confident it’ll be no problem for you.

Who knows when we’ll see more repaints of Clone Troopers with the current situation and all the delays. I hope my thoughts will help you a bit to make a choice. Have you ever worked with decals by the way? I’m currently working on a sheet with some emblems for a 1/18 scale Purge Trooper.

And do you know forum member CenturionsCorner? He’s on YouTube and Instagram, too! He made some nice Clone customs as well...

I hope my thoughts can help you a bit to make a choice. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your Clones no matter which Legion you choose!

Edit: Yep, my smartphone messed up my text hard. Had to fix it on the computer...cheers!

There were 212th Black Series at 6” as part of the Order 66 pack but the prices now are ridiculous!

I like your reasoning! I think I will go with 501st instead  ()rr

I never thought of the chest pattern on 501st to be an “i” but now i cant unsee it lol

I’ve not heard of CenturionsCorner but his work is top notch!

Thanks again Philip! I’m still prone to typos myself on mobiles ;)

- Philipp
These are all Hasbro Black Series troopers

The phase ii helmets were custom casts bought online a long time ago before i learned to mold and cast which im just learning! The next two 501st troopers will be the first with my own casted heads.

My primary colors, black n white are a combo of Apple Barrel n FolkArt

Rex’s squads blue however are a combo of Tamiya and Vallejo Model Color acrylics. I like to mix the Vallejo with other brands as I find them too viscous. This way, they are a bit thicker and easier to paint with :)

Wow, just fantastic Clones. Off to the front pages.

And that z6 is awesome!

You’re the best!

Very cool rotary cannon; the fact that it spins is definitely the cherry. Do you design and print your own parts? I've been wanting to check out zbrush and perhaps pick up a printer at some point.

I got my printer from Amazon. Yes the z6 i designed myself but the backpack i found on thingiverse!

If you are interested in getting one, i suggest considering first if you are going to print large objects or small as this depends on the print bed that your printer comes with

Heated beds also help prevent your models level and avoid warping for larger objects

I’ve never used Zbrush but am trying to learn Blender currently somi can design more organic objects. Lmk if you do any 3d modelling! Always love to talm shop and learn from others!

Very cool 501st Clones. You nailed it!  ()rr

Thanks! I was doing my best to pose Kix and Hardcase like their reference photos  8)

Outstanding work, I really love the burnt detail on the backpack. The squad mini gun is fantastic and that it spins is out of th his world. I love your display and quote of learning basic assembly is to funny.

That's some pretty spectacular tinkering - both on the pack and the rotary gun! Really nice job with the paint applications as well. These are really amazing figures. I agree with Darth More's thinking about the troopers, too. My vote would be for the 501st (sounds like you've already got there though).

Welcome aboard! The mandolorian and child are really great! If I had a 3d printer and knew how to draft and design I'd go nuts, I'd never have to buy another figure again. Haha. The clone trooper squad looks fantastic, I thought they were 1/6 at first with all the attention to detail.

Prequel era clones were always some of my favorites to customize.  The potential was limitless.  You've done a wonderful job in the subtle markings and differentiations to them.  Well done!

Thanks everyone!

Finished up my remaining clones

I molded and casted the phase 2 helmet. Took a few tries as I'm just learning how to do this correctly :) Pretty happy with the results.

If anyone knows a way to cast these helmets with a cavity for the neck ball joint, DO TELL! Not a fan of drilling out the bottom of the helmets :(

I decided to make the other one into Sergeant Appo. I love how he has an arrow like The Last Airbender since Dave Filoni worked on both shows.

Now if they will launch an edited version of episode III with the arrow composited on to his helmet  ::)

501st Legion Clone Trooper (Phase ii)

The diorama was a combination of Death Star panel files I found online. I modified it quite a bit to fit what I wanted to do with it.

The back is lit by an LED strip and the LED panel was a sheet of styrene added to the printed wall panel

The gate was 6 separate pieces glued together

I'd like to think that it works pretty well as a Republic/Venator interior as well as the Death Star.

I plan to print a vanishing print of the Death Star interior to complete the piece!

Your clones are remarkable! What a great reveal in your final set of pics.
Almost makes me want to pick up a Hayden Christianson figure.
If your mold material is stretchy enough to allow the ball shape to slip through the head while extracting,  Try turning your master part, the other way down, making your mold, so that when you cast, you pour through the top of the head. As long your part sets deep enough in the mold, the resulting extra material on the top of the head can be carved off and sculpted to match the master. Hey, it’s gotta beat cutting out a ball joint cavity. I don’t like having to do that either.

I showed this to my daughter yesterday and she said you ought to get me the cosplay of that character. She thought it looked tough. And then she saw the Armourer beside her and couldn't decide which one she liked better.

She normally just rolls her eyes at "dad's Star Wars Stuff" but it was cool to see her get interested in your work for a few minutes. Trust me this was a great accomplishment!

SW always was always a family event for me... i remember my brother would find a way to take a day out of school with me to go watch the prequals at launch :)

I think the Armorer costume would be easier to make and get for her :)

I use an air dry modelling clay. Most of the armor this time was done with foam pieces that i cut and carved with a hobby knife! The hair was sculpted using a crayloa clay that is a bit foamy and is not as brittle when sculpted into thin objects!

The paint was layered on acrylics with washes of tamiya silver for weathering. Glad you like my work :)

Fabulous work.  The mandalorian armorer is fabulous.

My only gripe about 3d printers are the print lines... and yet, for that figure it actually adds something to it that I like.

Well... I have two gripes about 3d printers, that's also the cost!

One could count the days 'til there was enough reference material! I so hoped you'd do these and they turned out excellently - as expected! I saw yesterday that those 6 inch bootlegs dropped to $13 and free shipping on eBay! I might get a couple Clone Troopers, too…

I just don't understand why they were assigned as the 332nd now - thought the 501st was just split into two garrisons…

Awesome paint job here - especially on the helmets! Thanks for sharing!

I found that starwars.com has great reference material including hero images with full color swatches

Just search the respective episode the characters appeared in, but I noticed it takes about a week after the episode air date for them to update. I've had the most luck with the "concept art" pages of the episode like this one :)

https://www.starwars.com/old-friends-not-forgotten-concept-art-gallery (https://www.starwars.com/old-friends-not-forgotten-concept-art-gallery)
https://www.starwars.com/news/clone-wars-first-look-old-friends-not-forgotten (https://www.starwars.com/news/clone-wars-first-look-old-friends-not-forgotten)

I also referenced the Sideshow statue of the 332nd trooper and decided to keep the black band above the helmet brow. You're right though Darth More, I don't recall the 332nd ever being officially referenced in the show?

Side note, do you guys think clone troopers have arts and crafts days where they paint their gear? Do they hand paint or use stencils? Random thoughts...

Thanks everyone!

Heres Gar Saxon!

Armor plates and Kama were all made with foam

I even made the straps for the chest armor as you can see in the WIP pics of how it works

Made a shield and flame FX for him as well

The jetpack was a J2 Jetpack I moulded then printed custom missle tips for.

So completes my Mauldalorian crew! For now... bbfet

Thanks brother! I figured if real cosplay uses foam, then why not give it a try with 6” figs!

I can't help think of his helmet here and wonder if he has head rammed anyone? Anyone else think that too?

Lol well, Savage did and it worked for him

I actually took some liberty here which the previous photos couldnt quite showcase

I made the center bore missle on his jetpack a bit taller than the original design so that it looks like an additional horn when you look at the fig straight on like so

Base figures are the new Black Series Jabgo-Fett re-issues

Planning to personalize these a bit to dofferentiate them when I get the Hasbro versions ;)

Finished up two Mandalorian Loyalists!

Took some creative liberties here and there but based these two off background characters from the S5 Mandalorian Episodes

Made a Rocket firing effect out of wire, cotton and hotglue. The rocket is removeable and can attach the SFX or just be a plain ole rocket!

The circle is almost complete... really need that CW Blackseriws Ahsoka.... that is only available in the US   >:(

Hope you all like it!

Thanks everyone!

Here is a custom ARC Trooper Jesse. I used the same recipe of 3d printed parts I made earlier form my ARC Trooper Fives and applied it to my Custom Jesse from earlier.

Kama was made with cloth and the patterns along with the straps were made from Electrical tape.

Hope you all like it! If I can get another Black Series Cody then I can make a Captain Vaughn :)

Still could really use that Ahsoka figure!

Stay well and stay safe!

Electric tape for straps and belts. Boots/gators also made with elecetric tape

Sculpted pants and pockets

EXCELLENT WORK!  Love the head sculp! That's perfect... great, now I've got to hunt down a Reed Richards... thanks a lot. lol.

I think I'm going to have to go back and repaint my Vanth's pants green and touch up the jetpack.  The screenshots I took looked like the pack was green and I thought that was really odd since boba's pack in ROTJ was mostly blue.  Yours looks nice and crisp!

Been a while friends!

Here is my latest Nevarro diorama that also works as a wallmount

The base was a spare box that i coated in resin, then sprinkled dirt over the surfaces. I then coated a layer of black spray paint, then another layer of khaki.

I then glued the 3D printed base I made from before with hot glue, sprinkled more dirt in between the seams, then sprayed some more khaki spray paint for a weathering effect on the door/walls themselves and to glue all the loose dirt together!

Hope you all like it!

I think its a variation of the DW logo?

Heres my custom Black Series Boba Fett as he appeared in “The Tragedy” of The Mandalorian.

Base figure was a Black Series Jango Fett

I swapped the legs of a Boba onto the fig

Cut the shoulder pads, drilled the dents onto his chest and right shoulder armor

Used a Temuera Morrison head from a Kamino Trooper that was hidden under the clone helmet

Shaved off the hair and sculpted his head and scars

Soft goods cloak made from layers black cloth to be as screen accurate as possible

Drilled out a hole in the jetpack for his classic rocket firing actiono

Made his chaincode by typing out the transcript, translate to Aurubesh, then shrunk to scale, printed out as a sticker and applied to clear plastic

Bandoleer was made with PLA filament strips cut to size, then wrapped electric tape around each “bullet”

This turned out to be really fun to make!

Custom Black Series Fennec Shand Ming-Na Wen

Did my best to capture her likeness!

Base fig was combination of #mcu ML #blackwidow and #clairetemple

Braided ponytail was from twisties, then sculpted on top of

3dprinted designed and printed her satchel parts. Rest of the costume was a combination of cloth, foam, and electric tape.

Custom ARC Trooper Boil with helmet from Audes

3D printed ARC parts

Really liked the ARF trooper look Waxer and Boil had in TCW. I thought the Airborne helmet is a nice phase2 evolution of the ARF for Boil as he made his way to become an ARC Trooper.

Someones had to command Parjai squad? 🤷

Wooooooooooooo what a phenomenal start to kick-off the new year! Kudos to Aude for this great looking Airborne helmet! I actually came back early just to comment on your latest Clone Trooper customs! Man, what an epic job you did here! I absolutely love your alternative paint scheme for the Airborne Trooper! He truly looks like a parachute trooper with all the belt and buckles around his waist. My mind is just blown! Which color did you use for the orange if I may ask? I've been trying to find the accurate shade of orange recently.
Congrats to these absolutely fantastic 212th Attack troops to add to your collection!

P.S.: They're 1/12 scale right? Amazing stuff right here...thanks so much for sharing!

Hi Darth Moore, Im flattered!

Yes they are 1/12

The 212th troopers were a mixture of tamiya yellow and folkart orange

I just used the folkart pure orange for the airborne and Boil

It is great to see a 6" airborne trooper and it is even better to see a airborne ARC-Trooper.
The paint scheme and the weathering is excellent and the quality of the 3D-printed parts looks great.

Another great design for Koska Reeves! Keanu would certainly love it as well. The texture of his armor plates really stands out to me. With your dry-brushung skills they look like real metal! Love how the wash highlights all the little dents and edges. Good to see you back around! You also did a fantastic job matching both color schemes! Love it!

Hi everyone,

Not exactly SW related so forgive me!

Been on a DC binge since watching Zack Snyder's Justice League!

Wanted to share my custom Knightmare Batman and Joker from this fantastic movie

Hope you all like it!

Batman was made with a MAFEX Justice League Batman as base

I sacrificed a Black Series Han Solo Trench coat, and Hoth Trooper Goggles that I sculpted on top of

(it was worth it)

3D Printed his binocs and Joker card and sculpted the pants and the rest with apoxie

I haven't seen the movie, so I'm not familiar with the reference material for these characters, but you have clearly put a lot of outstanding work into these two figures and they look really incredible. There is a lot of detail on them, especially all those badges on Joker. Nice job.

Couldn't find any Black Series Remnant Stormtroopers so I made my own

Repainted an old Hasbro trooper and a Bandai 1/12 for variety

Drybrushed a few different layers of brown and washed the panel lines here and there

Hope you all like it

They look really good. The weathering isn't "over-the-top" - which I really appreciate. I think using the two different brands was a great idea to, as you put it, add some variation. Really clever. Nice work.

Thanks!

If only the SHF and MAFEX troopers weren't so expensive, I'd buy atleast one of each!

Held off on sharing these minor repaints but seeing the new upcoming Rogue One wave, nows a good of time as any!

Repainted Director Krennic, and used the leftover decals from the bandai 1/12 Shoretrooper kit on a Archive Series Shoretrooper to make the Captain. Painted in the spots that the decals couldn't wrap over.

Repainted layers of Khaki/Bone for the armor

Really love how it turned out!

I also just got your two Rogue One Customs on the front pages and both look good as well. Hopefully my comments stay here this time. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Took about 3days to figure out the best print settings and how to get the joints to work but it was worth it!

Really nice upgrades on your SHF Mando and your Dark Trooper looks amazing! I'm very impressed by the construction of this figure considering how the parts are printed. And I really enjoy the picture of Moff Gideon standing in front of the printer holding the product. This is a phenomenal project. The future is now. It's great to have a dedicated section for 3D printing now.

I dont want to share the file out of respect for the creator but it is a super reasonable price for an unlimited amount of dark troopers!

Its well worth it!

Ya its been bugging me since getting the mando figure and watching season 2!

It took a bit of drilling for the joints to get it all to fit correctly. I must’ve broken more of those joints than i can count until!

I had to drill the holes that connected each joint so they would fit correctly. Otherwise they would snap if you force it in

Finally got my hands on two ARC Trooper Echos!

Both they’re heads were warped and poorly painted unfortunately so I got to work!

Echos rebreather was misaligned so I cut it out, then resculpted it back o to the helmet.

Added some weathering using the Sideshow Collectibles version as reference

Did 2 repaints of 501st troopers using the new 332nd bodies

Still holding out on making a rex with the new body cuz I cant bring myself taking apart my black series Rex figure, and I kinda like the idea of being able to distinguish a difference between a phase 2 and Rex’s hybrid armor - curious what everyone thinks?

Hey everyone, its been a while!

Hope you’re all well!

Finally got a Gaming Greats Boss and decided to finish my Delta Squad custom.

Added some weathering with paint and sandpaper on Boss

Scorch was repaint of a Boss figure, with 3D parts from Skylu3design

Fixer was a Hunter with Skylu3design parts. I printed everything in PLA and had to wetsand the helmet to get it silky smooth.

Sev was another Hunter with a Vanilla helmet from Cooper Fanning over on thingiverse

I made them according to their TCW appearance instead of the game since the base figures were closer to that version.

Hey, it's so good to see you back around and it's amazing how good 3D prints have become. I think you absolutely nailed both the shades and color patterns of Delta Squad! You're far ahead of time. I think we eventually get Delta Squad in the Black Series as Tamer said before on another topic, but I doubt they'll look as good as yours. Love Scorch's backpack and the bue metallic shine on the top. That's a nice touch. The color and edging on Fixer looks brilliant as well!

Ok, first of all I commented on this when I put it on the front pages when you first posted this!

I absolutely love this. I am telling you that image where you copied from the game is spot on freaking awesome. It looks real. I don't know how long it took you to pose this, but man that is sweet. I would so buy this set if they looked like this. One can only hope we get a full Delta set after seeing this awesomeness.

I saw your awesome comment on the front pages too! Not sure what happened?

Would have been awesome if Hasbro released a delta pack - or like the old battle pack with geonosians but at 6”!

Or dare I dream a whole wave of delta squad based figs that build the Dwarf spider droid!

Thanks for the tag on Instagram! Need to take a couple hours to post and comment on there as well...people love Commandos and it seems Hasbro are aware of that by now. It's been more than a decade since we've gotten an updated Delta Squad. They can go all in with an updated or even all-new sculpt.

I revisited my custom Mandalore Maul after getting the Vintage 3 3/4 Maul.

I wanted to make mine as accurate to the Hot Toys one as possible with the butterfly shoulder joints.

Resculpted his arms and legs.
Made a new tunic out of custom cut leather.
Working belt for lightsaber hilt from Bradharris whos on Instagram.
Custom detatchable lightsaber hilt that clips on to his belt.
Custom removable hood.
Throne was printed from model by Landspeederluke.

Super excited for Halo Infinite - been playing it non stop  8)

Love the Multiplayer intros and made me think what if the Deltas faced off against Clone Force 99? Clone Commandos are pretty much Spartans?  ::)

Had some fun with customizing the nameplates to match each Clone, Especially Scorch’s love for Baby Wookies and Wrecker’s love of explosions and Mantell Mix.

Thanks everyone. Hope you're all enjoying your holidays!

Made a Black Series Savage Opress out of a Marvel Legends Skurge.

The base figure has a very similar build to Savage which worked out great!

It's not 100% screen accurate but I like how it turned out.

Getting ready for Book of Boba Fett!  bbfet

3D printed a throne and spray painted in layers of brown and khaki. Sprayed a bit of off white for the stone effect. Drybrushed the Rancor ornaments with metallic gold.

Title: Re: MandoMuggle's customs - Tusken Warrior (Joanna Bennett) - Book of Boba Fett
Post by: MandoMuggle on January 20, 2022, 05:04:26 PM
Made the Tusken Warrior from The Book of Boba Fett.

Base figure was a Black Series Armorer. I swapped out the legs of a Tusken Raider. Cut a variety of black fabric and wrapped and tailored it to the source material.

Not too many pictures exist on the webs right now so I paused the show for each episode as reference.

The head was molded and then squished to change shape. Sculpted the additional wrapping around her goggles. Resculpted the face mask as well. Toothpicks for the horns. Breathing apparatus was made with a 3D printed cylinder I modelled, then fed a plumbing wire through for pipes.

Her single braid and tassels on the dress are actually from Aura Sing's hair and a Wonder-Woman figure's lasso cut up and glued together.

This was a lot of fun to make! Stayed up all night to make this. Gonna go catch some Z's now :)

I agree, what a fantastic figure! thanks for sharing the recipe! If I still collected The Black Series, I'd try it. Isn't there a carbonized AND a Credit Collection figure of The Armorer beside the basic figure?
The Basic Figure seems to have performed well at retail. Maybe I'll get some carbonized Armorer figures for customs if I find them cheap.
Now the costume you made for her is one nice composition. Looking awesome! Honorable to mention is the amount of Tusken Raiders you have there. Makes fun to look at all your pics!
Thanks for having taken the extra time for those WIP pics as well!

Made the Tusken Chief. Necklace was put together with a bunch of fodder straps glued together. The Pendant was designed in Tinkered and printed along with the black melon.
Staff was from Shang-Chi and a few different Gaffi sticks cut and glued together.
Rescuptled the head and and necklace bones. Painted the robe.

Hope you all like it!

I scaled up 8D8 from a model by DESERT-OCTOPUS over on Cults3d.
Had a Hasbro IG11 lying around so I transplanted the arms. Head model was from Fine_Engineer on Thingiverse that was meant to be 1:1 but I scaled down to 1:12.

I think Matt Berry's voice is great for 8D8. All I hear is Prince Merkimer's voice from Disenchantment which is great, his voice his hilarious  ;D

Off to the front pages.
Thanks! I know Hasbro's probably going to make a Black Krrsantan but hopefully it will be a while before we see an 8D8 or the Tuskens :)

Nice job. The IG-11 arms work really well. The paint job is great.
Thanks! IG droids are the best! They work for everything :)

Beautiful job!   They all look great, but I especially love 8D8!
Thanks! It was a fun quick project to do.

"I can bring you in warm... or I can bring you in cold."

Made a custom light-up Darksaber from a Gundam LED kit.

The handle is a tiny lil battery stick and I printed parts of the Darksaber at a custom size and carved away at the orignal blade that it game with to look more like the Darksaber.

I then cut out a stencil for the black part of the blade. The lights looks better in person :)

That looks great! I really like the ragged edge that projects the light. What a great tip those LEDs are.
