okay, I'll start my thread off with my newest custom, an animated style clone officer.
------------------------
phase 1 Nestene, The Clone Wars style
At the point, late in the first year of the War, when Commander Gree and Master Luminara Unduli are after Gunray, Nestene is just a lieutenant in the 41st Elite though he still was a pain in Gree's ass with an attitude. Before he'd earned a name, CT 2642 had seen action with the scuba clone unit on Mon Calamari alongside Kit Fisto three months after Geonosis. The wicked scarring under his eye and through his eyebrow was the result of his first mission with the 41st to the battle of Tibrin and a fight with a Ishi Tibrin military private that got too big for his britches.

if I ever find the CW Luminara figure in a store, this picture will truly be complete

hey that guy looks familiar.... ;)
I like this one, although the legacy scuba clone backpack is just huge on the animated figure! I wonder if you could chop shop it and make it look a little smaller...
hey bud, the local wal-mart has the luminara figures, several of them. You want me to grab one for ya and then send it to ya with all your cast resin parts and masters you sent me to do?
-
I did this clone 3 years ago, cuz I loved the design of the unnamed Hasbro-created 41st commander BUT it was made from the worst trooper mold since 1997, which was the 2005 Bacara figure. And then Hasbro poured salt in the wound by repainting it. (http://freesmileyface.net/smiley/Disgusting/vomit-6.gif)
I wanted to see the figure with super articulation and decided I had to do it myself. So I took the head, shoulder gear, and color scheme off the commander in the Clone Attack on Coruscant battle pack, a kama off a clone I can't remember, a body of a #41 clone and bashed it all together the match the blue paint color. And then I couldn't JUST make a figure, I had to write a character for him.
Commander Nestene (specimen 2642)
Nestene was created in the fourth batch of successful clone troopers on Kamino and trained by Dred Priest for most of his life, his dedication to the Mando'a legacy was questionable and his outlook on life is mostly grim. He never necessarily followed his orders to the letter as his superiors would have preferred but he always unfailingly got the job done and his "unique approach" was often admirable and ballsy, there was never any doubts he'd have a command of his own someday. 2642 was deployed to Geonosis as part of the second wave of reinforcements and within a year was a back-up commander of 41st Elite, under the supreme leadership of Gree (CC 1004) the Grand Marshall of the "green" unit. When half of the 41st was assigned to combat the droid attack on the Wookies at the end of the Clone War, Nestene was given a stand-in command of the 41st until Gree returned from Kashyyyk. When Order 66 was handed down by the Chancellor himself, Nestene's unit charged headlong down into the midlevels of the city-planet searching for stray Jedi. Nobody heard from the unit again.

nfc I realy like this one. Although in the reference image his kama is ruddy brown... that's the only thing I see different. You nailed the look flawlessley and the weathering is amazing! definately looks 100 times better with the weathering on there.
great job!
-
hey that guy looks familiar.... ;)
I like this one, although the legacy scuba clone backpack is just huge on the animated figure! I wonder if you could chop shop it and make it look a little smaller...
that's actually the backpack from the Clone Wars version of Kit Fisto. The Legacy version is more compact and in scale with the animated troopers BUT this one has a round peg on it to fit the round hole I drilled into the Clone's back. Whereas the Legacy scuba clone has this huge wonky notch in his back to fit this massive rectagular peg on the scuba pack.
this may not look better but it was a lot less of a headache.
hey bud, the local wal-mart has the luminara figures, several of them. You want me to grab one for ya and then send it to ya with all your cast resin parts and masters you sent me to do?
hell yes, please do pick one up for me!
-
nfc I realy like this one. Although in the reference image his kama is ruddy brown... that's the only thing I see different.
that's because Hasbro created the clone design to a Bacara repaint but at that point in 2005, they weren't necessarily doing individual art for they're own "fan fic" designs. (Last year's Order 66 sets had computer generated art for the non-movie troops they stuffed into the sets but a few years before that wasn't a reality so guys like the Baraca repaint were shafted and the toys were all we ever saw of them.)
so in 2006 when I made the original Nestene, I had a friend of mine photoshop recolor the Lucasfilm ref picture of Bacara and he missed the kama in the recoloring and I missed that it was never recolored. At this point, yeah, it's distracting but back then I was just happy to see "my" clone looking like an "official" one as if he could have been in ROTS
-
The added articulation that the new cantina denizens released the last few years has made the initial POTF2/POTJ offerings look pretty lame. Especially in the case of Labria: death-marked fugitive exiled from his own world turned would-be “spy” in a city where its best not to be noticed on a planet nobody wants to live on.
His look is memorable and his EU backstory is so bizarre that it some how fits the character… and I was ecstatic in 1998 when he finally got immortalized in plastic. At that point it gave me hope that Hem Dazon (finally did) and Mosep might happen someday too (yeah, apparently no time soon). Well back when I got wave 4 of TAC in summer '07 I was immediately impressed that both drunkard aliens were given the treatment they were; neither needed SUPER articulation but they both got enough to make them fun toys. And I finally decided that more needed to be done to Kardue'sai'Malloc to make him a more well-rounded and versatile addition to my collection.
(http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b190/wookietattoo/labria1.jpg) (http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b190/wookietattoo/labria2.jpg) (http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b190/wookietattoo/labria3.jpg)
I kept the look of the ’98 figure because it already worked nicely IMO. I just gave him a functional holster and the option to ditch the ascot on really hot days plus upgraded his articulation to use him as the alcoholic at the bar AND the spy AND a fighter is if needed to be.

ace customs NFC love the clones (but then i would..lol)
-
clones are fun :) endless possible variations as so many great customizers here on the Yards have proven.
there's more customs just have to dig up all the pictures.
-
I did this figure a could years back just because Hasbro was finally giving us properly sized/scaled Wookies. I made this to BE Snoova not Chewbacca in the disguise. I'm a HUGE fan of Shadows of the Empire, I needed to pay tribute to it.
I'm not entirely happy with this one NOW but I was then but I'm not bothered so much by the flaws I see now that I actually have to fix it, just nitpicky stuff.

Holy cow, NFC, Welcome to the customs board, buddy!! You have some great looking stuff there.
nice rebuild on the bacura. Looks better than the repainted version. I liked the back story on him and the cw clone which also turned out nice.
Dude, that Wookie, Snoova, just rocks. What a difference in size in that one shot.
The labria looks good also. I love that one shot with all of the Alien figs around that table.
Consider yourself on the front page as soon as I catch up with my posts.
-
I really like all the aliens. never too many for me.
Kind of like clones.... cant really be too many.
Nice work on all the figs, and backstory is always a nice touch.
-
I love the clones man, great job!! Welcome to the shipyards!!
-
Consider yourself on the front page as soon as I catch up with my posts.
:o
I'm honored!
seriously
wow
-
I really like all the aliens. never too many for me.
same here, I love the diversity of them in the universe
Nice work on all the figs, and backstory is always a nice touch.
I've gotta have some backstory on characters that didn't preexist, it adds substance IMO. And sometimes I've changed the stories on characters that I don't think were done justice by other writers.
-
your stuff deserves it, NFC. Besides, it's a good way to welcome a customs poster. I cant wait to see more.
-
I got the CW Jabba set early this year and while I appreciated that TC-70 was included with the Hutt, the actual figure was undetailed and had no "character" OR accuracy to the actual screen version.
so I fixed it

I think that I seen this one before and love it. Great job on him, buddy.
So, you really like the cw figures, Huh?
-
I think that I seen this one before and love it. Great job on him, buddy.

yeah I have really taken a shine to them. I bought Fox first last year (see, your custom had a default bias in my eyes already) and then Rex. Then Ashoka for my 5 year old little Star Wars fan!) . And then Plo Koon. And his space clone. Plus the only Jar Jar I ever saw. Mace Windu last month. finally Count Dooku a day later. Kit Fisto last week. Spuda's picking up Luminara for me.
yeahhhh, I can see where this habit is going. :D
-
lol... yeah star wars tends to do that to ya...
it may be a few weeks before I can get that figure... I hope they still have it when I get there.
-
I still haven't gotten a Fox yet. A couple of our aussie members are sending me foxes and when I get one, I will take a comparing shot.
I wasn't sold on the cw figures at first as I am into realism and their skinny look rubbed me the wrong way, I guess. I started picking some up to customize and sell on the bay and they started growing on me. The more recent waves of clones have looked pretty cool and I have started collecting em now.

-
nfc, I like everything on that shadow clone except for the brown pack on his leg... it shouldhave been grey or some other greytone....
-
lol... yeah star wars tends to do that to ya...
oh I know... I've been a drooling geek over Star Wars since I was 2 years old. Cripes, I've got SW tattoos. yeah, I LOVE Star Wars. and that damn Clone Wars toon is purely addicting!
it may be a few weeks before I can get that figure... I hope they still have it when I get there.
just do what you can, bro, I appreciate the offer!
-
early this year my buddy Toby (aka theunknown) challenged me to make a Sith Lord out of an Ewok.
so I did

totally inspired by Hamlet:
-
NIiice... I am a succer for good articulation as I'm sure you know. if you don't mind me asking, what did you use for the hip articulation in the figure?
also.. was bane's stuff always green like that? I thought it was yellow... did you repaint it?
as for the tattoos, what are they of? I've been thinking about getting a mythosaur tat on my left shoulder....
-
the SL Anakin/Vader that's pegwarming all over the world was the source for Bane's articulation
and yes I repainted the armor. it looked too much frozen Gatorade as it was.
-
wow, you've got some great custom work going on here! That ewok sith lord is freaking creepy, but ewoks in general are a little anyways, lol. The Snoova figure is awesome! I might have to commission you to make me one someday, because as my name on here implies, I also really like Shadows of the Empire! Keep up the good work!
-
wow mate your customs thread is on fire buddy!!!
Sweet looking customs mate!! i really like how you used the SA new Commander Gree body, a nice color scheme!!!
and welcome to the yards,

and welcome to the yards,
I'm SO glad to be here
this little board is like buried treasure of creativity! Happy I finally dug it up ;)
-
they are pretty cool here arn't they nfc... and dare I say it, alot more active than st6... (which has been abnormally dead here lately....)
-
:P
that's my board, was half the team that started it
-
lol I know it is NFC... I'm just saying... there hasn't been a whole lot of activity there lately, not very many new posts... and it seems people are just using the main forum page to watch for new posts, since I posted 3 vehicles yesterday and the only one that got any views or responses was the one that was pushed to the top and was seen on the main page...
but... i'm not complaining, and I'm not dissing st6 either. Just saying that posting there has gotten a little stagnant lately...
-
Just saying that posting there has gotten a little stagnant lately...
yeah I noticed >:(

anyways, these are the Star Wars customs I carry around with me everywhere I go

cool tatts mate, love the bounty hunter they reminded me of GH figures lol... or is that the point.... ;D
-
cool tatts mate, love the bounty hunter they reminded me of GH figures lol... or is that the point.... ;D
that's where I pulled the art from ;D I wonder if Hasbro would appreciate me ripping off their artists' work like that LOL
I love the bounty hunters and since I wanted the tattoo to adorn my spine, those little pictures were perfectly suited for it sizewise and stylized enough to be eyecatching tattoos
-
I too love the animated style of the bounty hunter tats. That shak ti is just awesome. She was one of my favorite characters in the original animated clone wars cartoons. what is that droid with chewie? Is that a character from sote?
-
thats cool mate, but that must have hurt like hell on the spine :-\
-
thats cool mate, but that must have hurt like hell on the spine :-\
quite honestly it did NOT hurt nearly as much as I expected it to. Not to say it tickled or was painless but it wasn't the torture I was betting on.
and god it was worth it! I'm damn proud of that tattoo
-

the art was taken from Dark Empire II where Chewbacca and Han have an encounter with a few broke ass droids in the bowels of Nar Shadda in pursuit of Boba Fett
I'm a lifelong Chewie fan and one look at that picture and I KNEW that was the perfect, unique source for my tattoo

Ummmm.... where did you get the stuff to make those weapons? I recognize a .45 or similar pistol as the base for one.
you must have made them, since mine dont look like that.
And nice modification to the holster.
Paint aps look so much better then the bright colored rubber of the original.
Their color selection was worse than something my 4 year old could come up with.
-
1st, of course, welcome to this awesome site. Good to have you here.
Dude, those are some seriously cool customs. Too difficult to pick a fav.
I love the SA Bane, and the CW droid, as well as the Shadow trooper. The outside pic of the shadow trooper looks great.
All of the clones from pg 1, as well as the Wookiee and the Devaronian, are cool as well. The kama on that Bacara looking trooper looks as though he could use a lil purple, but other than that, dig it all.
Keep em coming. Oh, also, cool tats.
-

he actually stole it from this guy, a Joe pilot named Dogfight - http://www.yojoe.com/action/89/dogfight.shtml ;)

who here is a fan of the old Marvel run of Star Wars comics?
-
That's been along time ago, NFC. The only ones I remember reading revolved around episode 4.
-
Welcome to the Yards NFC! I have been away for the weekend and just had chance to look at your thread here and Like what you have done very much. Nice work on the Bacara the weathering looks just right. Love the Shadow Clone with the red visor. Nice job adding articulation to Darth Bane and the Devarian. Oh yea and the Clone Wars Droid, I love him as did my son. Tobbi and Fenn are also nicely done. I look forward to seeing more from you.
-
I'm happy to be here, Sprywalker, and there's more where those came from, bank on it!
That's been along time ago, NFC. The only ones I remember reading revolved around episode 4.
the only ones I've read all the way through were the Marvel adaptations of the movies and the individual Marvel issues inside the comic packs. But I just wondered because looking through just those few issues, I must say, the creators of the old series had some really interesting characters/locations and innovations as some of the very earliest expansions on the films that grew to become the Expanded Universe. Definitely a few customs that could potentially come from them I think. Maybe...
-
But nothing will be made from them by Hasblow, since Lucas wont sign off on any of it as "cannon" story materials.
Although I really must say, I truly dont like all the overly colorful stuff they did make from these to go with the comic packs either.
-

yeah, as long as they insist on using comic panel coloring on the Marvel based figures, I'd rather them not make any from the run at all . I must say, I'm glad Ben Kenobi and C-3Po were spared the wreteched color schemes all from the movie adaptation's psychadelic palette.
-
You got *two* of the H'rchk aliens already? Or are they customs you've made?
-
You got *two* of the H'rchk aliens already? Or are they customs you've made?
Where? what are you looking at?
-
I haven't the faintest idea what happened. That is really weird - that comment was supposed to go in an entirely different tab on a whole different board. Perhaps the computer hadn't had enough coffee...
-
hahaha
anyways I started an ARF trooper repaint which I'm intending to be a really specialized camo trooper along the lines of so many of the awesome clones the talented folks here have made but it sucks ass so far. LOL maybe if I had an actual goal in mind for what I want it to look like that would help but as it is, it's just got no direction at all and I'm stuck.
-
Tell us about the camo, NFC. what do you want it to look like. any referance pics of the pattern?
-
Whats up, JD, welcome to the boards. You're an asset to any forum you join man, so I'm happy to see you here.
Come on, man, I know its a SW board, but show them the eco force tatoo so I can start making fun of you being the only fan, :)
wait, they made jar jar in CW?
-

thanks, Simon!

yes I have a tattoo around one of my arms of the GIJoe Eco Warriors. and the ninja clan tattoo. LOL
wait, they made jar jar in CW?
yeah, I only ever saw it once in the store. he was part of the same series as the orange battle droid, Kit Fisto, and the 41st, that wave was not easy to find first. They've since rereleased the last 3 of the new cards. Jar Jar will probably be in a battle pack someday too, since at some point he'll be showing up in season 2 again.
-
Tell us about the camo, NFC. what do you want it to look like. any referance pics of the pattern?
I'm going to do a bit more with it tonight and then I'll snap a WIP of it so everyone can see it and offer input.
-
what good is a swim ready Kit Fisto figure if its totally preposed?
25th GIJoe parts fixed that issue, I just kitbashed parts of Master Kit with Gung-Ho and Stormshadow to give the Jedi super articulation.

Did you post that one at ST6? I don't think I remember seeing it! That has got to be the best fisto I've ever seen.
I LOVE that we have someone else here realy utilizing the joe parts, I have been realy trying to push using them here... several people have been posting stuff with super arty joe parts involved and I'm loving it!
-
Did you post that one at ST6? I don't think I remember seeing it! That has got to be the best fisto I've ever seen.
the best you ever saw!? wow, thank you!!! :o
I posted him quite awhile ago becack when I first got the droid factory set. I actually forgot about him until I was going through the pictures
-
lol well, not to burst your bubble... I think it's only one of two I've ever seen ;)
-
lol well, not to burst your bubble... I think it's only one of two I've ever seen ;)
yeah well I'll take best of two :P
-
that is a nice Kit Fisto, NFC, and I will agree that it's easily the best one that I have ever seen done.
-
Very nice, It looks perfect.
-
Wow that Kit Fisto is a great figure. Seamless transfer to Joe parts and Kit's feet , hands and head. I love it!
-
a random Marvel character and a modified (barely a custom) clone commander will both be posted tonight
-
As your fans here will soon learn, random means something completely different in the NFC verse.
Might as well be called "this guy was in one comic panel back in 1980" customs, :)
LOL, I'm actually making fun of your stretcher custom and exaggerating it, you have the most obscure tastes, my friend.
-
As your fans here will soon learn, random means something completely different in the NFC verse.
Now now, my Joverse is where 88% of the established media of GIJoe since 1982 is disregarded and the remaining 12% is totally reworked to fit NFC verse thereby looking and existing NOTHING like it originally did.
My Star Wars verse is probably 65 - 70% of the established stuff (it's irrelevent is Lucasfilm recognizes it as canon, because I dig a lot of what they deny every happened) and the remaining 25-30% is stuff either I've made up PLUS a lot of stuff other fans have PLUS the stuff that Lucas now disavows... like the whole Ewoks and Droids cartoons, they ARE official IMO. Yes I do disregard everything in the bullshit Tales Of/From books and a few other characters from Expanded Universe (like Callista's lame ass... and that whole book she came from) and the dork Art Carney played in the Holiday Crapfest but my mind is open to most the other non-movie characters. Okay, I don't always subscribe to the continuity that's been established but it's usually just certain details that I can't work around that dictate that... Like Thrawn NEVER dressed up as Jodo Kast in my head. LOL
Might as well be called "this guy was in one comic panel back in 1980" customs, :)
Marvel #96, the issue that came with Lumiya and Skywalker is where the 'random' custom came from.
LOL, I'm actually making fun of your stretcher custom and exaggerating it, you have the most obscure tastes, my friend.
But but but obscurity is a GOOD thing. Hey, even you liked the Star Wars radio drama after I enlightened you to its existence a couple years ago. :)
-
I would dearly LOVE to get ahold of a copy of the radio drama one of these days.

very nice NCF... in was lucky to get a Faie in Australia on ebay as we never got those comic packs in, unfortunately when i got him one of his hands were missing... love the new look of him mate well done!!! keep em coming
-
yeah Faie's hand pegs are slightly ill-fitting to the sockets and prone to detaching without any effort. It sucks.
-
Sweet interpritations of the comic characters, NFC! That faie looks good also. He sure had a pea head, didn't he?
-

yeah he did but a pit of dremelling to the helmet and a human sized clone head fixed that up. LOL
-
a few things. .. lol
Thrawn dressed up as jodo kast? The blue guy that was a grand admiral dressed up as the guy pretending to be boba fet?
the noghri, aren't those darth vader's assassins?
and yeah, the radio drama does in fact, rule!
obscure is good, hasbro is the opposite, could you imagine a line with only one snake eyes/darth vader a year?
-

Thrawn dressed up as jodo kast? The blue guy that was a grand admiral dressed up as the guy pretending to be boba fet?
I have no idea what story that was from but I read about it last year when that crap Kast figure was released. Maybe it was an RPG Adventure Journal.
the noghri, aren't those darth vader's assassins?
yes they are. I made a custom of one of those too and I'll post him whenever I locate the pictures
and yeah, the radio drama does in fact, rule!
indeed it did. I need to redo the customs from it I already made from it... and there's a few additional ones I'd also like to make someday too. There were some great new characters that were created for the radio show that have been used by Dark Horse since.
obscure is good, hasbro is the opposite, could you imagine a line with only one snake eyes/darth vader a year?
I can imagine how much better the lines would be! Same goes for lame ass Spiderman being way overdone in the Marvel line.

AHHH ewoks...!!!
lol I love the ewok with the trooper armor. I remembered him having a blaster holster and blaster pistol too though, huh... maybe that was my imagination
I love the Commander Fae. I havebeen wanting to get one of that figure for a long long time but havn't gotten the chance.
when you replaced the pea head and put the bigger one on there did you have to adjust the helmet to fit? or does it still fit reg. sized heads? If so... I might have to find one of those to cast...

I had to hollow out the helmet more very carefuly to make it fit the normal sized head
-
Yes, that Ewok with the STormtrooper armor with the scene painted on is awesome! Nice work on them!
-
NFC, I knew the e-wok was yours... I just remembered seeing it at st6 and thought he had a holster on the belt...
-
Nice ewoks, NFC! You dont see alot of ewok customs.
-
fixed up the Infinities Vader because I liked its design as an alternate on Vader, like ceremonial/formal armor, when Emperor Palpatine has to impress people of importance without violence and demands Vader be on his best behavior.

JD, I really dig that Vader. I love the concept of Vader in formal armor. Very cool!
-
thanks man 8)
I'm still digging up pictures of more older Star Wars customs to repost here. my photobucket is a bloody mess. ::)
started work on a couple more customs this week too!
-
I like your backdrop, very cool.
I had no idea they made a vader with such cool armor.
-
That Vader is awesome dude! You don't see many custom Vaders either.
-
reworked a couple of the Mandos from the EE boxed sets, none of the 4 heads worked IMO: Isabet and Rav were creepy and SUPER unfeminine, Dred was stupid fat-faced DePriest, and Llats just looked WAY too damn young to be belivable.

Llats is amazing, that head better suites the charecter indeed, the rest are superbly done as well.
-
awesome reworks NFC!!! they look 100 times better then the original head, where did get the heads from? did you have to do much sanding to get them on the neck? did you have any trouble with fitting the helmets to the new heads?

Isabet's helmet is a little bit loose but not so much that it rattles around on her head. The other helmets fit nicely on the replacement heads
-
nice mate awesome work

Phatty does some seriously flippin' awesome work, his Sith looking characters (http://www.imperialshipyards.net/SMF/index.php?topic=1166.15) are all friggin' incredible, some of the most original dark Force user designs I've seen in a long time.
well, his gray wrapped awesomeness custom (http://www.imperialshipyards.net/SMF/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1166.0;attach=8149;image) is my favorite of them... and I hope Phatty, admin of The Yards, doesn't mind but I liked the look of the custom so much that I felt compelled to make my own version of the character and assimilate his into NFCSWverse.
and now I present
Lord Phabian, follower of Lord Kaan, a commander in the Brotherhood Of Darkness at the end of (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Ruusan_campaign) the New Sith War (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/New_Sith_Wars)

Sweet sith figure, NFC! I liked those Mando reworks also.

Very nice Sith you have recreated. Nice sculpting and paint aps.

thanks for all the kind words from everyone ;D I'm damn proud of this one, I just wish someone that rad looking was my idea first :D

I used Citadel paints, Poly Scale paints, and Testor's mModel Master acrylic paints on all my customs

this is my Noghri custom, finally uncovered the pictures
YES he IS short.
Why?
Because that's how Zahn described them to be in his book. And the Dark Horse came along and SCREWED IT UP ROYALLY in that goddamn AWFUL comic adaptation of Heir To The Empire where's they were taller than the humans! >:(

JD, I've been meaning to reply to your latest updates, but [insert random excuse].
Love those Mandos, and this latest Noghri custom... Very cool indeed.
That Lord Phabian figure is cool as all get out. Love the [bleep] outta that one.
-
dude, you gotta chill out on that language, man, lol.
Its like a pirate is customizing, ;)
I thought the noghri was munchin as well. .. comics rarely do the source material justice, then again, neither do movies, lol.
-
dude, you gotta chill out on that language, man, lol.
sorry, folks, it's just that the DH adaptation was so atrociously bad in every respect that it still gets under my skin after all these years, can't help it. LOL
-
Oh man, I think I forgot to finish commenting on your recent customs... oops... Anyways, the general gist of it was that I absolutely LOVE your fully articulated Kit Fisto! He's one of my four favorite jedi (thanks to the Clone Wars actually giving him a voice / personality), and I totally agree with you that a swimming Fisto needs to not be pre-posed. I keep hoping hasbro will release a really good one (cursed face and "talk to the hand" pose on the Geonosis 2-pack one!), but I think you've done all that needs to be done! Excellent work, make some more of them and sell one to me!
-
I just thought about something, didn't the noghri follow vader and later leia's commands?
Whatever happened to them?
-
I just thought about something, didn't the noghri follow vader and later leia's commands?
Whatever happened to them?
Last I read of them was in the Yuuzhan Vong storyline I THINK, travelling on the Millenium Falcon and still with Leia.
They were pretty actively mentioned in many books for a long while after The Last Command ended but they eventually sort of fell out of use it seemed. Could be wrong though.
-
here is what I remember, vader crashed a ship into their homeworld and subjugated them.
and they were ninja chipmunks.
man, they need to make them ot fight those midgit ewoks.
-
midget chipmunks?
LOL
-
Those are pretty cool
-
I believe the last 2 Noghri mentioned in the books were Cakmaim and Meewahl, Lady Vader's honor body guards.
And I think they killed them off in the last big Jacen goes Darkside storyline...
Nothing but mention after the novel Tempest...
I always imagined them as roughly Ughnaught sized with a Bossk type head and feet and new clawed hands... the taller Ughnaught....
-
I started a new Sith custom the other day... Been under the weather, not in the creative mood the last few days but that will change this weekend. And when the new Sith is done, it will be another follower of Lord Kaan, to go with my posted customs of Lords Firrwk and Phabian.
-
NFC, WOWZER! your customs are really unique. Your photos really do the figures justice, and as the site Design Engineer I commend you on your fine work and presentation.
It's guys like you who give others the motivation and inspiration to create somethig a little different.
Really fantastic!

I didn't forget them waiting for me, I've been waiting for a total to paypal you, I figured you forgot. LOL
well go get Luminara for me and tack another $8 onto number for me to send you
-
I already got her, I had faith in ya, :)
-
Simon, you rule
don't make me guess on the total I owe though, I'm liable to pull a number out of the air and send it, accurate or not :D
-
I already got her, I had faith in ya, :)
well, I gave you a quote on the grey hulk, he cost me 12 bucks, plus tax! which I think is still better than ebay, lol.
luminara was 7.44, plus tax, so was rum sleg, but I stole his BAD part. .. but in all honesty, you can have it back, L9 sucks, :(
-
I manaed to get a Lumiya on ebay at a good price since the comic packs are nowhere to be found

I'm considering customizing L9, actually. I like his basic body, but his head is the suck
I think he'd be fine with a new head and a more traditional paint scheme.
-
wait... simon... customizing... I've heard that before ;)

LOL

GRRRR
I have exactly half the droid, I'd like to complete a couple of them someday

wait... simon... customizing... I've heard that before ;)
Yeah, we can't all live in our parent's basement, lol.
I have too many distractions running around...literally, :)
And, AND, I'm lazy, that factors in.
I've still done more customs this year than Viper, lol.

NFC... I wanna see some rebel helmets on some customs... where they at?! ;)

I just looked through my whole thread and realized I didn't post my 7th Legion expansion squad for y'all to see. I'm betting you guys might want to see those... There's some really, ummm, random additions to the unit.
:-[
-
Well comon man, let's see those bad boys!

well when you realized it why didn't you post them!?!?!
and i'm waiting to see those helmets used... I mean comeon you've had them how long now! ;)

Nice figures! Anything affiliated with Faie and the 7th or 41st has got my vote. The BARC version trooper and the clone commander appeal to me the most. Great job.
-
Trooper Kole reprogrammed a clanker
-
I love scuba clone troopers
-
last of them
-
scuuubaaaa clooooones!!!!!!1
:)
I like em all NFC, I don't think I'd seen those over on st6 before. I realy like the repainted droideka! I realy like the modded helmets!
do you have a story on the joe helmet turned clone;s? is he a specialist of some kind?
-
scuuubaaaa clooooones!!!!!!1
You remind me of viper...in lots of ways.
JD, great figures. I am so with you on making straxus out of that head, :)
reprogrammed a clanker, eh? interesting, maybe you should mod it to use republic weapons, or be a mobile mount for one of the heavies.
Dig the scuba clones, very cool.
-
Wow, that was worth the wait, NFC! I really like all of em but That scuba trooper looks alot better with that helmet, I think.
Cool beans, dude. Those are great.
-
I actually made all these guys about 2 month before the concept Faie was released to stores but I never went back to take pictures of him with them. :-[
This project made me glad the McQuarrie Fett was all white and gray because I only needed to "Brown Dot" it up to make him blend with his troopers. Same goes for the Walmart comic pack white Galactic Marine.
SCUUUBA CLONNNES! I love those guys and not just because of another board that joke started on. Up till then I always wondered what a SEAL clone trooper would have looked like. It was interesting trying to decide how the Phase II helmet should look with the rest of the uniform.
Yes, "Air" is an experimental clone pilot but I never got around to making his attack shuttle I wanted to make. No I can't do it now either, don't have all I was going to use for it anymore and I simply don't have the time.
thanks for the kind words, folks, I'm glad I finally realized they weren't posted here so I could rectify that!
P.S. This board is Clone Central, maybe I should have posted the Tinkers first when I got here. :) LOL
-
WOW! What a great squad you have there. Good job on matching all of these up and I like the addition of the phase 2 helmet. That Scuba Clone rocks!
-
JD, I love your clone squad. Very, very cool. I dig the hell outta the diversity, and that Destroyer Droid just solidifies the fact that these are a group that you just don't mess with.
Awesome mix. I can't say enough about how much I like these. Your choices for the base figures just compliment each other. That ARC trooper is hella cool, and the one with the unique helmet and clone pilot body(?) is a very cool addition to an already great group of clones.
Love every single bit of it.
-
Wow, that squad looks freakin SWEET! That Mando with the alternate head is one of my new favorites!
-
man o man, you guys are too kind
I am proud of these clones because they were the first time I'd ever seen anyone do more with the brown clone unit than the two figures Hasbro did. I can't really even explain why they appeal so much to me but they really did, maybe it was simply because they're so obscure.
-
Wow! I can see someone has been holding out on us! I love every single one of em. I gotta know the story on this destroyer droid. He travels with this squad? I always thought it would be cool to reprogram a few droids and send em back into action against thier own kind. Anyway, love em all. Thanks for showing them to us and you are now on the FP. I don't think it will be the last time by the look of these!
-
NFC that squad is awesomely sweet buddy!
-
HOLEY SHMOKES!
Thank the Lord we have a great front page otherwise I'd have missed these W...HORESOME Customs.....
Totally, utterly and completely gobsmacked....My ghast has been well and truely Flabbered!

I'm a huge fan of his work (gotta watch it performed though, can't just read it) so I DID put him into the SW EU, he's Wil Sha'ykspeer, the Bard of Corellia.

finally an update. I've been actively customizing all along, just not always getting around to taking pictures.
Squeak is Tin-Tin Dwarf, a charcter written into the Star Wars radio drama who tries to contract Han and Chewie for his employer (a scumbag named Big Bunji) for a charter that pays $10000 in advance, but they're on their way to Docking Bay 94 to take a quartet of troublemakers to Alderaan. Hasbro will NEVER make any characters from it into toys so it's my job to do so.
I've never ever seen anyone do a custom of a Tintinna before. Hope you guys like it.
-
I really like this one, NFC. Could you give us a recipe, you master of the EU customs, you?
character from the SW radio drama, eh? You are right, I have never seen anyone do a tintinna figure before.
Front Paged, you are. Another nice custom, buddy.
-
head- Meerkat figurine (Schleich)
body- IJTOD Short Round
tail- Avatar Pandoran
lower legs- Nightcrawler (W&XM)
feet- WWE BnB figure
and a good bit of Citadel "green stuff" for sculpting
-
Now this is very original and very cool. I really like this little guy. Not trying to get rid of that Short round head are you?
-
Now this is very original and very cool. I really like this little guy. Not trying to get rid of that Short round head are you?
as a matter of fact, I'm happy to trade it up, otherwise it was "head"ed for the parts box
thanks for the kind wors, Spry and CH, much appreciated
-
That is a sweet custom! SO inventive and original!
-
Is there a head you are in need of or maybe give me 4-5 you would like so I can see if I have one of them. I want to make a removable hat Shorty.
-
Awesome variety of custom and all excellent pieces.
Ron
-
NFC, I like it! That is a very creative custom. I didn't know there were new characters with the radio dramas. I can't wait to hear those.

wow, you've made some great stuff :o
I'm a big fan of your custom 7th legion squad, really awesome
-
I love the clones nfc.
-
Happy y'all like my work
got some more aliens coming down the pipe this week... real variety
-
Nahhh, I don't like them...did you steal that last one from Viper?
:)
Kidding, my friend, kidding.
That is just wild.
I warned these guys you were on your own customs wise, but I think only now, at the end, do they realize, :)
-
Who else loves the concept Snowtrooper designed by Joe Johnston?
I love it in all the samurai style awesomness, BUT I think the sweet details and look of the armor is far better suited for a unique character.
C'mra Dremo was born on Concord Dawn shortly after the Clone Wars ended. Now he is a private investigator with an office on 'Dawn, he is often hired by CORSEC (Corellian Security) for work all over the Core Worlds. Neutral as possible during the Galactic Civil War against the Empire though he understood why the Alliance fought against them, but he does not trust the New Republic's motives (nor does CORSEC). Though never officially a Journeyman Protector he did recieve some of their training and he can be a brutal and lethal enforcer when his job takes him into situations most people could never pray to walk away from.
-
What a brilliant use for this amazing sculpt! This one is mouth watering, NFC! The weathering on the armor is top notch and that facial tattoo is amazing. Great work, buddy! You are front page famous again.
-
NFC he looks great. It is amazing that all you did is weather the figure and helmet after removing the skirt and you have a totally different and better looking figure. Nice job with the tattoo on the head as well. I really like it.
-
wow that is awesome! love the tat on his face, looks very minty!
As for the base figure, you said it was a concept snowtrooper? I've never seen this figure nor remember hearing of it! I wish I'd seen it before doing my swoordmaster mando, the arms and legs and belt armor would have been perfect... I might have to get this figure and redo mine as more of a "samauri mando"....
lol i know... I can't get the mando off my mind.
-
great use for the concept Snowtrooper, it looks perfect.
I especially like the weathering
can't wait to see more
-
Hey NFC, how easy was that helmet to hollow out?
-
What a cool figure.
-
Hey NFC, how easy was that helmet to hollow out?
kind of a chore, because I kept having to go back i and take a little more out and very slowly to avoid any chance of over-dremelling
worth the effort though!
-
Daggone Clint beat me to the fp with this one. Outstanding NFC. Why won't Hasbro do this! Please Hasbro, if you ever see a few threads see this one!
-
snow custom looks awesome ohhhhhh i cant wait for the next custom hummm i predict a EMPIRE /REBELLION era
-
NFC, Caught this one off the frontpage. Amazing custom, and like everyone else, I thonk that the whole concept is superb.
-
snow custom looks awesome ohhhhhh i cant wait for the next custom hummm i predict a EMPIRE /REBELLION era
you'd be right with that prediction Wattoh ;)
both the next groups of customs are from smack dab in the Alliance vs Empire OT era
-
and straight otta left field comes NFC with this bloody awesome custom!!! woohoo ! ruddy excellent mate
-
Awesome custom!!! I love it and I love the detail and back story to boot!
-
NFC, I wish there were words to describe this one! Simply amazing, and superbly done! Fantastic work!
-
Amazing custom.
Really cool.
-
the sculpt was too interesting not do something with and I love new characters :)
thanks for all the really really kind words, everyone, MUCH appreciated
-
I'm fascinated by the Rebel Vanguard troopers so I made 4 of them. Yes, the guy with the blonde manly beard is Nik Sant at Endor in ROTJ, he got in the scout trooper disguise.
-
Thanks a ton to Dan the Spectre for his help with naming the other members of the squad.
RANDO FILAJI - Zeltron
PROGUS - Ugnaught
TRASK VOR'AKUR - Bothan
-
about time those helmets got shown ;) lol they look good! I love the joe styleing to these, very very well done.
-
Facing off with an Imperial AT-ST
-
very cool mate
the little battle scene you made is awesome
-
chicken walkers don't handle steps well....
-
This rebel squad looks awesome. I really dig the alien love this squad is showing too. I can't figure out which one I like the best. That ugnaught sculpt is pretty daggone nice too. Good work NFC, fp bound.
-
I really dig the alien love this squad is showing too.
My very favorite thing among many about Star Wars is the diversity of alien species in the galaxy, the more diversity the better, and aliens are awesome! (There are way way too many humans in the OT.)
-
I totally agree. We need more figures and sculpts like this.
-
I totally agree. We need more figures and sculpts like this.
Hasbro won't do it so I will. ;D
-
Awesome Rebels! I love the aliens you included, we don't see enough of these.
-
at some point there's a couple other characters I'd like to add to the squad too....
hoping I'll get the chance at some point.
-
cool rebel squad.
-
Those rebel figures are off the hook, NFC! I love em all but especially like that Ughnaut one. Great job on the alien rebels, buddy.
-
love the battle scene, very cool, but you have to bulk up those legs, they look useless, :)
Do you have any scanning techs?
Also, are those spuda's helmets?
-
yup those are Spuda's helmets alright :)
no I dont have any Imp scanning techs, why? I have no real interest in them
-
I started 2 more additions to this squad last night. I never expected to do more than those 4 above but I can't help it, need a few more. At least.
And yes, they all will ALL be different species, no repeats. Tamer, you'll get a kick out of it
-
Cool, new recruits! I can't wait to see em.
-
All I can say is I am impressed.
-
Excellent work on the Rebels, I like how you've added aliens Rebs as well 10/10.

Additional recruits now on the roster of Nik Sant's Vanguard squad: Aellasvia the M'Shinn and Raya Ven the Anzat
yes, the mossy covering and the leaves were sculpted, her helmet is clear to create a greenhouse effect in the sun, keep her "skin" moist so she always operates at peak physical condition.

ok... you were right... that is the most random use of that clear helmet. BUT IT LOOKS AWESOME! :)
is that a cannon species? Could we get some more info on it? so it uses the moss/vegitation for sustinance?
-
clicky: The M'Shinni (http://www.imperialshipyards.net/SMF/index.php?topic=1961.0)
The M'shinni were descended from an an extinct humanoid precursor species which developed a symbiotic relationship with a type of moss-like plant. This plant covering could be various shades of green, depending on the M'shinn's health and light conditions. An ill M'shinn's covering would sometimes dry up and turn brown. In return for nourishment from sweat and dead skin cells, their plant covering gave them accelerated healing. If the covering was removed, however, injuries took about fifty percent longer to heal. Their coats also needed sunlight to survive—a M'shinn held in total darkness for ten or more days would lose her coat.
they need plenty of light to live healthy

-
Call them Force Nomad - This is where the Strange and Exotic are put, the scoundrels, the murderers your stereo typical inglorious bastard and dirty dozen types.
-

Six more and we could have the SW version of the Dirty Dozen.
-
Six more and we could have the SW version of the Dirty Dozen.
That thought keeps coming back to me now since Cimter cited that group and the Basterds (haven't seen that movie but I'm thinking now I should).
maybe....
after I get a couple other customs out of the way I'll consider it at least...........
-
I've heard bad things about the movie...like its 20 minutes of action, 2 hours of a French chic lamenting the war.
But if I'm wrong, please let me know cuz the previews looked awesome.
-
Since they'll surely be growing into a dozen plus two cadre, they should be called Reisman's Roughnecks.
Lee Marvin as Major Reisman in the movie "The Dirty Dozen" (PS: Does anyone know where to get a 3 3/3" headsculpt looking like Lee Marvin?)
-
The Dirty Dozen is one of my all-time favorite war movies. I usually watch it and Kelly's Heroes at least once, every year.

I tell you what forget what people have said and watch the movie Narceron make your own mind up, as I was told it was supposed to be crap, I thoroughly enjoyed it, the only thing is because its Tarantino movie you know it's going to be vicious and it is very vicious, especially the scalping.
-
I hate Tarantino movies and wasn;'t interested in the movie precisely because is one of his creations but I'm willing to see it now because of this thread.

Lieutenant Cly Hage is the hard nosed, ass chewing, by-the-book Crew Chief for the TIE wings aboard Darth Vader's Executor (super Star Destroyer). He oversees the maintenance and supply for every pilot that flies one of "his" fighters into battle and he is there to supervise every launch of a group of TIEs for any mission. The tech crews, repairmen, and pilots all swear up and down he never sleeps and most assume he's been an Imperial since he was old enough to dress himself (and even then they figure never has worn any color except black). In his mind Sienar Fleet Systems has come up with the greatest small attack craft in galactic history and he intends to make sure every single Bomber, Interceptor, and Fighter under his inventory lists will work beyond the official standards, specs, and SOPs listed in the Imperial Navy's technical manuals.

I LIKE IT. you should make him a custom fighter, some kind of uber tie fighter of his own creation... taking the "every fighter in peek performance" to a new level...
-
I can't do vehicle customs of my own. I've never finished one that wasn't a repaint and even some of those have never actually gotten done.
-
Nice figure! I love seeing custom Imps! Great job.
-
that is an awesome custom officer
love the story for him
-
wow mate he looks good now we shall bring more men to the rebels lol
-
Nice one, NFC! Was he a death star gunner/clone engineer fig, at one time?
-
cool looking imperial NFC! Perfectly done!
-
Nice one, NFC! Was he a death star gunner/clone engineer fig, at one time?
it;s the Imperial Scanning Crew figure with a sculpted mustache. Amazing how versatile that figure turns out to be, I ended up picking up a second one when I went back to the store after I finished this custom
-
Nice repaint of the scanning crew trooper. We can use more Imperials anytime!
-
good looking crew chief. I can see him running a tight ship deck.
-
I can't do vehicle customs of my own. I've never finished one that wasn't a repaint and even some of those have never actually gotten done.
oh...so you're an Ameri can't, :)
LOL
you can do it, man, just needs to be the right project.

This is MY interpretation of Heater's gang from the Star Wars radio drama. In the show, it's Heater (Jabba's #1 goon) that shows up at Docking Bay 94 to ask about Han's new charter and to clarify why it was that Solo had felt the need to kill Greedo.
In the show, there's no indication at all what any of them look like and none of them but Heater have names. In MY mind Heater was a Nimbanel (which was probably influence in my young mind by Marvel's adpation of Star Wars) and it seemed fitting that all of his crew would be aliens, like a reverse case of xenophobia.
unfortunately, none of the customs here except Heater have names either, I couldn't think fo anything. Please help me name the Ithorian, the Zeltron, and the two Klatooinians.

-
NFC, those are some awesome customs, my friend! I love your interpretations of the characters in the Star Wars radio drama.
You have a great imagination, buddy. Of course, these are on the front page.
-
I love the chick's hippie jeans... LOL! awesome.
the other figs are great too. heater's neckband/shoulder pad thingie...? where did it come from? was that scratch built? it looks killer!
NFC, you need to do some sculpted heads and send them to me, clint or outlands to get them cast up in resin!
-
Looking good, Jd
You love the radio drama, you gonna do the imperial noble/mayor or whatever he was?
-
you need to do some sculpted heads and send them to me, clint or outlands to get them cast up in resin!
any future sculpted heads I do I will send them to one of y'all to be casted
but Heater's head was meant to be Heater's head for this custom, I wanted it, nay, needed it to be unique to him.
-
these are excellent customs NFC
very very creative
-
NFC awesome customs mate
-
NFC, customs like this are my favourite! they are so unique. I really like them.
-
Ah, very creative. Heater and gang look great. I don't recognize all the parts-mostly for the Klatooinians, which is a testament to your creative use of parts and paint. This is just the sort of gang I would want for my own collection. Nice work.
-
Very nice interpretation on these never before seen characters. I too love customs like these, something you don't see every day.
-
Good stuff like the color scemes and the depth of the work
-
;D
thank you, I'm proud of them. Honestly, Jabba's criminal empire is so big that I figure he's probably got hundreds of goons, hitmen, debt collectors, and dealers working for him we've never seen.
"Tell your circle of friends there not to look so anxious with their guns." - Han Solo to Heater
I have to wonder when Brian Daly concieved the scene what HE imagined that 'circle of friends' consisted of. I'm glad everyone likes these.
-
wowey u must have a special gift to paint like that
-
This is one sweet Gang of thugs. Nice work.
-
Consider the idea pinched, I am really liking these and I know where I can get a Nimbanel Head, oh by the way guys expect to see 3 new customs from me very soon. Sorry for the Hijack, these are most definitely pinched however.
-
i love this whole gang dude, but id have to say my favorite is the Ithorian only because i love that species
-
cool looking squad
-
nice! mate what a great set of customs
-
okay, I'm stuck on my latest round of customs so I unfortunately don't have anything new for y'all to look at :(
but I do a question. I'm looking to expand my horizons a little bit. I asked about paint in the Resources section but I need more help than just the paint I've discovered so I'll ask here.
Who has customized some die cast metal vehicles? I know CH said he has.
I'm wanting to try it on a couple Hasbro Titaniums but I don't know what I'm doing, in fact, I am not even sure where to start. Need to hit the hobby ship this weekend but I need to get a list together of what I'm looking for.... Type of paint? What brands of paint, just Testor's? Should I primer first? What should I use to seal the paint on? And if I'm doing more than just painting, how do i body different metal parts together?
Are the Titaniums all made of die cast metal or are there plastic parts here and there on them? I swear the V-19 wings are plastic, if not, that's some light metal. I don't know, I've never put a model vehicle together.
Do i need different paints for the metal and the plastic? (if I do, I'm worried about finding matching paint colors among the different kinds)
-
NFC, yes, alot of the titaniums feature both metal and plastic parts on em. When I did mine, I just used the same paint for everything. At the time, I used Testors or Model Master enamel paints with pretty good luck. You can find a couple of shots of some JSF titaniums that I did in my out of date Shipyards custom Gallery (http://www.imperialshipyards.net/Customs/customsclonehead.html), like this one
(http://www.imperialshipyards.net/Customs/images/clonehead/ch160a.gif)
and this one
(http://www.imperialshipyards.net/Customs/images/clonehead/ch161a.gif)
I believe that there are more in my custom figure thread but I'm not sure where. You would have to go through it and see.
I didn't use any primer but painted directly onto the painted metal and plastic and didn't seal over it as enamel is more durable than acrylic when it drys.
Good luck buddy. I can't wait to see what you come up with.
-
awesome, CH, thanks for the help.
I'll get started on some stuff this weekend!
-
my own interpretation of Dr Evazen (aka Roofoo) and Ponda Baba (aka Sawkee).
I wanted Walrusman to look more like the Aqualish seen in the prequels, the extra eyes are creepy and interesting and the tusks are a LOT better than the ass mouth the Cantina mask had. The vintage figure's wardrobe was CLASSIC, the movie wardrobe sucked. AND flipper feet!
I wanted the guy with a death sentence in a dozen planetary systems to look a lot younger in his prime for master criminal escapades, more believeable as a guy who's truly dangerous. If he'd been in the Outlander Club when Kenobi and Sky Guy were, he might've appeared like this.
I hate the storyline that WEG devised for these 2 guys, I think they have a lot of potetial to be real creeps, really vile thugs who can scheme the galazy into their back pockets if they need to. I think maybe their story is better left a mystery.
-
in my day ponda baba was nicknamed "bumface" ;D
-
Cool deal, I will put these up tomorrow if Clint doesn't beat me to it. Looks great. Paint apps are good, face sculpts looks good. Good job guy.
-
cool ones NFC!
-
Looking good, NFC! I like how the Death sentence guy turned out. That's a good look for him.
-
thanks for the kind words, everyone, much appreciated

1980 vintage color scheme, super articulated, prequel backstory all rolled into one custom ;D

-
That is really neat! I really like the colour scheme. Great job!
-
Great custom! I love the vintage look and great splicing with the Joe and SW parts. Looks like you did some sculpting as well on the thighs right?
-
oh hell yeah. I am LOVEING this one. It never occured to me to paint a boba up in the vintage colors... it looks excelent! I love it!
you used a slightly different technique than I do for the knees, I see that you put the original knee peg inside the joe thighs... at least I'm assumeing those are joe thighs, they look a little odd. are they RAH parts? Please reveal your recipe!
-
neat idea!
-
What a fantastic idea for a custom, you've created something very unique. Love it!
-
ooooh, nice. That vintage colour scheme fits that boba perfectly.
-
That's one really cool figure!
One of the nicest Bobas I've seen so far!
-

the knee joints are from the evo Fett, I chopped the thighs down and hollowed them out. I took the thighs off a 2004 Alpine (modern o-ring Joe) figure, dremelled them down above the knee joint enough to fit inside the remains of Fett's upper legs and fused them together. I sculpted the familiar pockets Boba Fett's suit has. I'm not sure which o-ring Joe's waist I usedbut it was slim enough to fit the Fett belts over it with minimal dremel work, super glue fused them together. The torso with the o-ring was also '04 Alpine's, I just dremelled it down A LOT, enough to just keep the 2 halves of the post that holds the o-ring intact and then glueed it up inside the hollowed out Evo Fett's torso.
I have no idea how much, if any, sense the above description actually makes. I can share my recipes but I find it difficult to actually explain how I pull some of these modifications off (can't give directions either). A lot of my customs that are really involved, ya know what the secret is? I'm making it up as I go along.
-
Really cool figure man.
-
great boba man looks great in those coulers
-
What a great vintage type custom. Love it. going to the front page. I wonder why none of us have thought of doing that yet! Sometimes the things right in front of your face make the best customs!
-
Love it! Hasbro should consider doing this one!

so thechest/torso joint doesn't work now? well that's a shame... You could have used one of the legacy/evo boba's and used a Cobra commander torso for the hips and then did the same thing for the legs (which is alot of work, but looks good IMO). that way you could have kept that torso joint.... because I'm assuming now he can't rotate his chest/torso either?
-
yes his rotates and has the bend forward and backward movement the o-ring Joes were famous for
-
you have to remember, devin was in diapers when O rings were popular, :)
I like it, very creative..good to see others rescuing the mandos from the bland taste they've gotten lately.
Does the missile launch? One thing this custom needs is an action attack.
/runs away....
-
this is great dude! gonna go well with that mail away!
-
cool i love seeing different bbfet and the color scheme is cool
-
REALLY happy with the feedback I got on this custom, thanks for all the kind words! When I do get that mailaway new vintage Fett I will take a picture of it with my custom version.

-
NFC, that is a superb custom. You get all the credit for that one!!!
that means a lot, HB, thanks a ton
-
thats just 7 kinds of awesome!
-
only 7 kinds Jay? lol more like 700 kinds of awesome!!
-
yes his rotates and has the bend forward and backward movement the o-ring Joes were famous for
ok.... so after re-reading your explanation I think I can finally picture what you did. You used the chest piece of the alpine set up inside boba's chest to hold one end of the o-ring and then used the hips from another o-ring joe on the bottom and used the 0-ring to hold them together at that joint.... correct?
interesting method for sure.
and for your information SIMON, I had an o-ring joe growing up and he was my favorite action figure until my friend decided to strap him into a rubber band sling shot and shoot him into the wall, which broke the o-ring hook and destroyed the figure....... :P
-
yeah, Devin, that's right. DING DING DING, he can be taught! :)
I'm so happy about being hangar bay'd that I had to make it my desktop image and it's glorious!!
-
I love Bothans and I love the Both Spy Network idea even more. Finally I got to make some. I like to think of them as the crew that stole to Death Star II plans during Shadows of the Empire but they can represent most any era in the Star Wars timeline.

I had Wraith 9 paint the R5 for me just to be the storage/maintenance/surveillance droid the Bothans always need to have as part of the crew for their missions.

Nice work on those customs. Really like 'em.
-
These guys are just awesome. I always liked reading of the Bothans in the EU stuff.
And Believe it or not, I still dont have even one of the comic pack figs.
Great work.

these bothans are awesome NFC!
-
a great set of Bothan's NFC, they really look like a cool figure i havent seen these anywhere here in OZ, Great clean paint apps..

Very cool NFC. I too love the Bothans and you have done a great job with these.
-
that is a GREAT squad of Bothans you did there!
-
those bothans look wicked mate!
-
No Bothans died to make those customs possible. But Target must have been surprised to see 4 of their stagnant dusty comic packs suddenly move a few weeks ago. :)
glad you guys like 'em, I had fun making these
-
they look good...you are always pushing the bar on the inclusion of characters.
You should really try mos eisley cantina, or jabba's throne room...might be enough obscure characters for ya, :)
-
wow NFC, great job again
awesome Bothan customs mate. It is great to see some EU customs here.

Great bothans! I guess you posted them right before I post my comment, because I didn't see them when I posted my comment. Was that confusing? So, did wraithnine send the droid to you, or do you know J? bbfet

Hey NFC! Mon Mothmas words from ROTJ ring in my ears as I look at these guys . . .
"Many Bothans died to bring us this information." You finally made the picture in my head, REAL!!
Very cool idea and work.

ya know it's a bit of a rush to hear that! It's pretty damn incredible to learn that an artistic creation of mine actually made it possible to bring life to a part of the trilogy that was just lines of dialog before. Thanks!

yeah, that's Jay's droid that I took ownership of recently :) I commissioned his incredible skills on an R5 unit specifically for the Bothan infiltration team here

Wow, those Bothans are awesome! When I get a job that actually pays well, I'm gonna have to go ahead and copy your idea there, they'd fit in perfectly with my little Shadows of the Empire collection! Great work!

I commented before and must say again I love your Bathan spies. Great job bringing these guys to life.
-
those bothans are so cool, i love the droid too and how you gave the bothans individuality!

sometimes I do just-for-the-hell-of-it customs of random stuff just because I want to paint. thouh I think I might be able to stretch my imagination and use it as a wholly new alien species with my Star Wars figures.
this is a repaint from the TMNT line (Playmates)
the original from 1992:

What comic-pack? My wife's WalMart only got the Bothan/Wedge packs maybe 3 weeks ago. Them and the Storm "Commando"/Gen. Weir set.

I have a couple other TMNT figures I might do repaints of at some point, I'm really happy with this one worked out.
some customs are just a nice change of pace
