Title: The car thread.
Post by: JDeck on April 30, 2021, 03:20:20 PM
Im not sure if this topic already exists, but I might as well start one.

This is a thread showing what we drive. The other kind of toys.

I bought a 2018 Mazda3 Grand Touring. I'll tell you what this is a fun car to drive. It might not look like much but it's git it where it counts. Actually I think it's a sexy little number. I like that it has no "GT" badges. It's classy. Pretty much all of Mazdas cars are race inspired.

when I test drove it, the salesman and I pulled into an empty parking lot, and I gave it as much abuse as I could. Figure-eights, corkscrews, and it took all of my abuse like a go-kart. The tires didn't so much as chirp, it did exactly what I wanted it to. After I stopped the salesman yelled THAT WAS AWSOME!!. I heartedly agreed  .
I was never really a Mazda guy, but after doing my due diligence, I've become a true beliver. I could go on and on about how awesome Skyactiv Technology is, but it's incredible. I can't wait to take it up to the mountains. But first I want to get more acclimated to it.  I only wish it had a tad more power. It's a 185hp 2.5 4cly. which is bigger than the base model's. It doesn't throw you back in your seat, but then again I haven't tested "Sport mode", which is a setting on the auto trans that changes the shift point to the exact moment to get the most power. Also it has a manual setting with paddle shifters.

Hey congratulations to your new car JD! Your new ship looks awesome in white! Really like the shape of the front with slick headlights and a nice panoramic roof!
I really love the models of Mazda with their sporty bodywork and shapes! I especially like the red metallic which really pops in the mass of other cars.
Back in 2015 one of my colleagues got herself a Mazda 3 (compact) from 2014 in anthracite metallic which looked really nice as well! Ah I could go on and on, thanks for sharing this great story with us! I'm sure a car dealer doesn't always have so much fun on test drives!
In Germany we say: "Allzeit gute Fahrt!" May the safety be with you, always.

Congrats on your new car JDeck. My wife loves Mazda. Here first car was one and she drove it to over 200,000 miles.

I think we have a car thread around here somewhere, I will have to see if I can find it.

Thanks! Yeah that is a cool color. Mine is white pearl mica. It has a little metal flake and a pearl finish, it's only noticeable up close.  Yeah it's cool styling. I especially like the the nose. I was going to wait a couple more years to get the gen 5 2019-present, but they're not much better. They offer AWD and a turbo option, but I don't need AWD, and I would never buy a turbo. Tbey will wear your engine out. So I said screw it. I bought it at a VW dealership a friend of mine works at, so I pulled the trigger, and my friend got a $100 bonus.

Yeah mazdas are really underrated. I asked friends what they thought of Mazdas and they had no opinion.  I didn't know anything about them either. So Ive been doing a ton of research over the last couple of weeks, that's why I haven't been on here much even lurking. They're just as reliable as Honda and Toyota, low maintenance. Theyre just as safe as a Subaru, with the five star safety plus rating. My insurance is lower with this car than my old one because of all the safety features. Mazda just doesn't advertise, the last commercial is remember was the old zoom zoom campaign. The only problem which is actually a good thing that I personally think is great, is the suspension is stiff. So if you're looking for a soft ride, you probably won't like mazda. The fuel mileage isnt the best in its class. But i only live 10 miles from work so I don't really care. Its the same gas mileage as my old focus.  For me I just wanted something completely opposite from my bread truck. I have to drive that all day every day, and it's not always a fun drive. So today I got off work, rolled all the windows down opened the sunroof and blasted Rammstein in the Bose surround system.
Title: Re: The car thread.
Post by: Darth More on May 01, 2021, 02:52:36 PM
Haha I can feel that! I had no idea how popular Rammstein really are in the States when I was an exchange student a decade ago.
So it's calles sunroof, I was wrong. It's "Panoramadach" in German and I tried to find the right translation.

By the way I really like the rims you chose, too! I'm happy for you and your buddy at the dealership! That's a nice bonus.
Well, Mazda run their commercials on TV here on a daily basis. Mazda has become very popular here in Germany especially since they made a complete reset on their design back in 2012 or so.
The MX5 is quite a popular "classy" car here as well. It's so low that I didn't see it through my rear window until I bumped it, but no damage was visible approved by the police I called afterwards. Love the design of their models a lot and the paint they apply! Excellent choice, Sir! THIS must be a fun car regardless how annoying the traffic can be!

Rammstein is awesome. I was too young to appreciate them when Du Hast came out, that's when they were most popular here. I was riding an hour long taxi several years ago and the driver was playing Rammstein. I've been listening to them since. Evidently their shows were banned here, but they were supposed to go back on tour last year, and i was going to see them but stupid covid hit.

That sucks about backing into that MX-5. I never thought of them being too low to see, especially with the top down.  If I get to the point I can own a fun car that's not a daily driver I could see myself getting an MX. I was thinking about a Mustang GT, but 460hp is crazy. I don't under any circumstance need that much power.  It would be kind of a waste of car for me.

Here's my 3 week review of the 2018 Mazda3 GT. I took it to my hometown in the foothills, through the backroads that are known to be very winding, and it just hugged the road like a sports car. I was going pretty fast through those curves without hesitation, the steering is responsive as well as the suspension.  Passing on a two lane highway was easy. Even without sport mode I can get from 45-60 in no time. Interstate travel is good. It gets up to speed on the entrance ramps with no problem at all.
It's funny there is no recommended octane level. First fill up I used 87, with a slightly over 300 mile range. Second fill up with mid grade 89, I got 360 mile range. But with super 93 I got 340 mile range. So it seems mid grade is the best for fuel range.

Cargo capacity is good for what I need. I was able to fit at least 8 cases of cakes maybe 10 and four folded cardboard displays with the back seats down. Which is the reason I opted for the hatch as opposed to a sedan. I've found fold down seats in a sedan are pretty much useless, but in a hatch, it's almost like having a truck. The body curves are a little prohibitive, it's like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, but it's not bad.

Only complaint is the infotainment system. I use Bluetooth spotify for music, ( best driving playlist ever composed  https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4F2tzvIe1fI5EhlHfjcBoC?si=UdcSJYADTdKQyyEm4_vNcA&utm_source=copy-link )  and it takes a long time to load. Then last week the screen froze. It still played my music, but the screen and functions were fozen. I can get a system upgrade to 2021 specs with android auto for $200.  Overall I'm pleased with the car. My old focus was a good A-B car, and I gave it a good home, but this is sooo much better overall. It's like a jack of all trades. It's part sportscar part luxury car with good mpg and cargo space. As far as I'm concerned it's a great daily driver. It's not a fast car, but it's a fun car to drive fast.

I think it is important to not just see your vehicle as servicable, but fun too. I am glad you are enjoying it. Sounds like it handles great. 200 is well worth it to get the jams you need imo.

I like my Tacoma and it is so nice to have a bed to haul my different junk and have four wheel drive when the snow hits or I get off road.

My wife loves her Subura Crosstrek. That car can go forever on a tank of gas. Kinda sporty for a family car too. She couldn't wait to get rid of the Corolla even though it was a fantastic car too. It was another one of those A to B vehicles where you never have to spend any money on maintenance or gas.

I've been car shopping for several years really. Toyota cars seemed pretty basic and uncomfortable. For luxury or sport you have to go with Lexus or Scion. But my Aunt swears by them. If I had to commute like she does I'd go with a more comfortable ride. The trucks are cool. Resale value is really high. My sales rep has a rav4 with 250k miles, but he replaced the trans and it's currently in the shop. Now days every car should give you 250k miles.

I narrowed my search to either a Subaru Imprezza hatch or the mazda3. I live in the Coastal Plains so AWD/4wd is unnecessary. If I lived in WVA or CO, yeah id go with the Subaru. A woman I was dating was looking at a Fiesta, at a really good price, but she was like, I "need" AWD. I was like why? It snows like once every other year, and we're in a metropolitan area where they're pretty good about plowing. All weather tires is all you need.  So the resale value is really low on Mazdas, so I'll probably just keep it as a daily driver till it dies. My only concern is how all of the electronics will age.
Title: Re: The car thread.
Post by: Tamer on May 20, 2021, 02:33:34 AM
Well the great thing with electronics now is most of em work through your phone so I figure that trend will continue.

And yes, I wouldn't see the need for AWD where you live. A couple hours north probably, but not where you are located.

I had a '98 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L 4x4. I drove in moderate snow and mud and so forth and never once engaged the 4x4 the whole time I had it.

Im seriously concidering driving to see my brother in Colorado. Take 10 days, 3 days to, 3-4 days there 3 days back. Spending a night in Louisville and KC on the way to, then OKC and Nashville on the way back.  Take parts of route 66 see the stupid kitschy stuff like the worlds largest ball of yarn or whatever.  Yeah airlines are cheap but I hate flying. Actually I love to fly, but commercial flights are terrible and getting worse.

Yeah I've made arrangements to take the last ten days of September off to go out there. I'll take I-64 to St. Louis, take route 66/ I-44 through Missouri, Oklahoma, northern Texas and Santa Fe, New Mexico, then hit I-25 to Colorado Springs. Then on the way back take the direct route through Kansas to St. Louis and hit I-64.  The trunk with the seats down is long enough to lay down, so ill bring a camping mattress and sleep at truck stops.  Actually here's a picture of how much capacity the back has.

I took the car to a road they call "Back of the Dragon" today. It's this crazy mountain road,  highway 16, that goes from Marion Va to Tazewell Va. It has 400 curves in 34 miles and covers 3 mountain ranges.  After interstate driving for 4 hours, it was a dramatic change of pace.  Going back down wasn't bad though. I kept pace with this riced out Civic SI, until we got behind a group of slow bikers. One biker ran off the road into the ditch, but he was alright. It's mostly motorcycles  there, but I did see a few MX-5s and Porsches. 600+ mile round trip, but it gives me an idea for how far I can drive in one day for when I go out to Colorado next month. I'm definitely going to hit Pikes Peak when I get there.

Wow, that's crazy impressive, I wish gas would be as cheap here as it is in the U.S.
What a trip! The longest distance I ever drove o far is 550 miles, which was from Pécs, Hungary to Dresden, Germany. Drove through Slovakia and the Czech Republic with two short breaks to pay the highway toll.

If you ever are here in Europe, there are various nice routes to drive. Back of the Dragon sounds awesome! Probably would never ever have heard of it, if you hadn't mentioned it.
Telling by the beautiful landscape you shared, that's the sight you'd also see in France for example.
Hope the biker is alright. Sounds like a challenging track with lots of curves. Here in Germany roads between cities in rural areas are the most dangerous.

Thanks for sharing the story about your fun trip and have a safe ride to Colorado!

Interesting drive. Man if you want to find some turns come on over to WV and man there are some roads. Route 50 is notorious for having some routes like this. Love that Dragon pic!

Yeah europe has great mountain roads. Pretty much every country has a mountain range. I was on the croatian Slovenian boarder, and that was a cool ride, unfortunately I wasn't driving. Flying over the swiss alps was cool. Italy in particular has this road, i forgot its name but it's ranked #1 best drive in the world with Pikes Peak #2.  Pikes peak is insane. Back in 2018 an EV VW broke the record at 7.58 minutes, when it normally takes the average car about 90 minutes to reach the top, which is about 20 miles.

Yeah that biker was okay, he was with a bunch of others. It took 3 guys to pull his bike out then they were gone.

Are you familiar with the Nurburgring in Nurburg Germany? It's this super tough road course that I think is open to the public. I like watching videos of everyday cars like Renault Clios pushing their limits on one of the toughest tracks worldwide.

Interesting drive. Man if you want to find some turns come on over to WV and man there are some roads. Route 50 is notorious for having some routes like this. Love that Dragon pic!

Oh im sure WV has a ton of nice roads, it's just knowing the area. There's this road there that goes something like 20 miles to connect two towns that are only 2 miles away as the crow flies. That's just nuts.
I think that honda i was pacing was a local, because when we caught up with those bikers he turned off on to another road. I just don't know these rural areas enough.
There's another famous road called the tail of the dragon, thats on the NC/TN boarder, but i hear traffic is a nightmare and they reduced the speed limit to 30, that is heavily monitored and enforced by state police. Botd had a 50mph limit, but very few times could I actually go that fast. Some of those switchbacks were so tight i was looking out the side window to see where i was going.

I started my Colorado roadtrip today. I drove 800 miles 20 miles short of st louis. Stopping for gas every 250 miles or so I got it done in 12 hours. I got my air mattress laid out front to back in my car with the seats down. Its cozy.  I have to get an early start to beat st louis rush hour.  Im used to getting up early. I get to live like a trucker/gypsy for a few days.

10-4 good buddy im at a choke and puke in Amarillo TX. Did almost 800 miles again today,  over 1500 miles in two days. Im going straight to Colorado from here instead of going to Santa Fe first. I like the mountains and forests and everything, but out here you can see for miles and miles. Makes me want my pilot's license even more.

This car is not built for roadtripping, mainly because of the 18" wheels and low profile tires. At one point I was driving over grooved pavement and seriously thought my tires were flat. It was that bad. A sunday drive on country roads 10/10, substantial interstate travel 5/10.

Oh yeah i went to Uranus lol. Its this stupid place in Missouri it's like one big butt pun. It's pretty funny. Unfortunately the freak show was still closed. I just got some tshirts and fudge. Get it ? Fudge.... uranus. Lol. I just chuckled the whole time.

Yeah he spent a ton of time putting it all together. Evey once in a while something would fall over but not that much. Yeah it was like a crazy where's waldo in there, you always see something new.

Im headed home. I did get a speeding ticket in kansas. The whole trip so far I might have seen 3 police, except for kansas that had one every 10 miles. I screwed up because there was one in the slow lane between two cars, so by the time I saw him it was too late. I was going like 90 in a 75. That's 200 bucks ill never see again. So remember kids slow down in kansas.

Ouch. I have kind wondered which states had the most highway patrol. Sounds like Kansas ftw. Well not so much.

Yeah I'm home now. If I had to guess I probably did 900 miles today. Once I saw the Virginia sign I couldn't stop.  Round trip, 4.5 days, 3,580 miles. I didn't drive at all the 4.5 days I was in CO. I didn't get to drive up Pikes Peak, which sucks but truthfully I was tired of driving.  Id say my favorite drive was between Amarillo TX and Colorado Springs. It was neat watching the sun rise over the prarie and seeing the plateaus transition into the alpine rocky mountains, while listening to country western music.

Its weird the day I left the springs airport got a bomb threat and shut down, so I would have missed my flight and been delayed at least a day. That's why I don't fly commercial. There's always some kind of problem.

Yeah damn Kansas gets everyone. It's like highway hypnosis, since there's nothing around you, you get in the passing lane and next thing you know you're doing nearly 100. Kansas makes a ton of money off outsiders. Didn't help my brother gave me some kind of damn military grade mexican energy drink. I was all jacked up.

Aishiii! Don't get me started on WV construction. I pay 8 bucks to drive through a construction zone and everybody's just standing around. Put on a show or at least smile and wave.  They could make it like "It's a small world" ride dress the construction workers up in different outfits and sing songs. Id pay 8 bucks to see that.

Overall it was a good experience. I've never done a solo roadtrip. I used to take trains a lot, that's cool too, but time consuming. It was good seeing my brother and his wife, i haven't seen them in 10 years. I didn't want to "do" anything, i just wanted to hang out. We went to garden of the gods and the cave dwellings, but mostly we drank and watched Star Trek , Jaws 1-4 and weird ass korean shows on Netflix. Some of them are actually really good. Im obsessed with Squid game now. Yeah I had a great time.

Sounds like a great time to me. Minus all that driving, but that was an experience in an of itself.

I always thought I would like to drive all the way across the country once and especially go see some stuff like Yellowstone and what not.

Glad you got home. Definitely gotta stay out of Kansas, they would have me for sure. And WV roads they do take you home! Not! You oughta seen Pennsylvania if you want to see construction and folks lean on their shovels.

Its the whole the journey is the destination thing. Driving route 66 was cool. The roadside stuff was kind of meh. They build it up to be much better than it is of course.  Yellowstone would be cool, probably could do mt Rushmore while you're there.
I mean it is construction season, but man. Missouri was bad too. They had a bottleneck created by signs they forgot to remove. There were several signs saying merge left, so everyone was scrambling to merge, stopping traffic completely, then it turned out the lane was open the whole time.
I miss southwest food. I lived in Texas, came back and forgot how great it is. We have "Mexican" food here but it's mostly El Salvadoran influenced. Pupusas are good but there's nothing like a tamale or a good breakfast burrito.  While I was there I had a lot of Mexican food, jamacian korean and Indian. Our Indian food here is better though.

I got a good lead on where I can find Tamales here. I feel like im trying to score drugs or something, i could literally go out and find any drug I could want, but can't get decent Mexican food. i just want some damn tamales made by an old Mexican grandmother. Is that so hard?  I  went to place today, that was supposedly "the best" and even the waitresses don't eat there. If I start making them myself, I'm quitting my job and going full time, ill turn my truck into a tamale truck. I just need an old lady as the front woman and make it myself.  You think I'm joking? I'll run this town with tamales.  I read an article years back that stated millions of dollars worth of  Pointsettas and tamales were being smuggled across the border during Christmas time. Just make them here!

Don't! Don't ever have a tamale, because you'll be hooked for life. Loook at me! Im going through life wondering where my next Tamale will come from. Eating these knockoffs just trying to take the edge off. Damn the day I ever tried tamales.

Last Sunday there was a fest of a tractor fan club in a town nearby. When I passed by on my bike, I just had to stop and take some pics. I mean, look at all these beauties!

That's great Philipp. I had no idea Porsche did a tractor, but it makes sense. It maybe the slowest Porsche, but it may be the fastest tractor. Now I'm curious about tractor racing :) Its pretty cool to see German tractors. Here in the States its John Deere and Farm-All among others. It's great to see the UNIMOG too.

I never noticed this thread before. But its fun...so while JDeck drives a sporty relatively new Mazda, I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I drive a 1987 El Camino.  :)

Hey, thank you so much for coming by, Starchaser! I'm glad I could make you aware of this fun thread. Many more pictures to come because I'm a big car fan, too!

Yes, there are many tractors of the last century, but I don't know much about all the different manufacturers. The Wiki for tractors says that the Porsche Diesel Super was built from 1957-1960. It has 38 HP and a maximum speed of 20 km/h or 12.5 mph. It is the successor of the P 133 tractor.
Would you believe me if I told you that this Porsche still gets service?

Yes...Yes I would believe it. My Dad was an American tractor aficionado (maybe "knowledgeable tractor enthusiast" would be the correct phrase) as he grew up on a farm. I am not, but have friends who are "gentlemen" farmers, so I've learned a few things.

That's so cool! And this is the exact reason why I thought it'd be good to share the pictures here as well. I know there are many fans of agricultural vehicles in the U.S. - it's literally essential to all of us and I think many people around me forget about that and take it for granted that we can buy fresh fruits and vegetables at our local supermarkets every day.

As a boy I was fascinated by tractors. And still am. So I can well relate to your father's passion for them.

I think your 1987 El Camino is super cool! I'd love to see a picture of your car. I remember when I was at high school and still got lots of time. I loved to wash my VW Golf III convertible from 1996 by hand for hours. My record was 8 hours while listening to music. I even used some cotton swabs to clean the smallest details.

Good times! And if you have a computer or PlayStation 2 I can highly recommend to you to play Need For Speed Porsche from 2000. To me this is the very best of the NFS series. Thanks for your comments!

Perhaps I'll post a couple of pictures after he gets a desperately needed paint job. The car has survived twenty winters in Alaska as well as the Washington rain, but the original paint job has taken a beating over the years. So, he looks a little rough ( and yes I know on English vehicles are usually feminine, but my kids insisted we refer to the El Camino in the masculine).

Thats so awesome. I didn't even know there was a such thing as a Porsche Tractor! Great stuff.

This reminds me I need to get a coat of wax on my truck. I am so behind this summer.

Yes, please! Twenty winters in Alaska?! I'm glad your car survived that tough time. Reminds me of the TV shows on DMAX and elsewhere about the crews digging for gold and fishing for crabs in Alaska. Let's hope Putin won't claim it back.

Thats so awesome. I didn't even know there was a such thing as a Porsche Tractor! Great stuff.

I wouldn't know either if the owner of one of them wasn't friends with my dad.

Okay Phillip,
This is just for you :) My family took a trip to Idaho this week to visit some of my wife's family. And...the Idaho State Fair was going on. They happened to have a Tractor Exhibition:

This is super awesome! I think most car conventions take place in July & August and towards Thanksgiving the Tractor clubs join in. After the Pandemic I totally missed to look up which conventions happen this year. The U.S. Car Convention was the one that I was looking forward to the most. But it couldn't happen last year and this year I missed it. I was too busy at the beginning of July anyways. Still hurts a little. There are two more fairs of interest to me: one for minerals, jewels and fossils and the other one for fire trucks if anyone is interested?

Looks like I posted the pictures above a few hours too early. I'll just move them. Idaho is one of many States I haven't been, yet. The tractors look as pristine as they could be. Love the Ford in grey and red. It's interesting to see which designs different designers came up with.
Definitely a cool hobby to look into. Thanks for sharing this brilliant follow-up report :D

I took the time today and slept in and basically chillaxed the whole day. After weeks of heat and the resulting drought, it finally rains here over Dresden. The Rain came all the way from France and started falling last night. And it has been raining the whole day at a frequency which is a true blessing. I hope it keeps raining for some more hours here over Saxony. The plants and animals need the water so desperately.

Last night I talked to FialaFernbrugg until my neighbors called me out to go downtown with them. While we were on the phone, I went to Kaufland and was able to show Christoph some details of the store. And of course I got some Austrian beer to enjoy while talking to him. We had a good talk as always. And on my way there, I saw a Camaro.

Despite the fact that many people here in the East think that the people of the West (of Germany) are evil (rich(er), arrogant and spoiled), there are many fans of American cars around here.
I often see them and sometimes I have enough time to pull my phone out of the pocket in time:

The VW T1 on the other hand has sky-rocketed in value over the past couple decades. They go somewhere from 70,000-200,000€ depending on condition.

Many other classic cars from BMW gain value every year as well. Their beauty is timeless...

Yes, there were vehicles for all kinds of purposes with the latest tech. I'm going to add some more pictures plus text. I had some technical issues last night.

On Saturday night I worked at the airport here in Dresden and it was nice to take a look backstage. There was even a small chillout area in the hangar along with an old police helicopter and an aircraft body, maybe for the firefighters to train with.

Found this custom made traffi sign online and thought it was worth sharing:

One of my host dad's dream on his bucket list is to drive 300 mph one day, but it's hard to find a car for rental that can go that fast. Most of their engines are locked to much less than their maximum speed. I already looked for race tracks that offer such voyages.

Saw this beauty on a trip to Moritzbrg, Germany yesterday:

Found this 1/18 scale model of a French beauty from 1947 for 10€ plus shipping.

I got lucky once again because the seller didn't want to ship it first. So I paid another 10€ for the effort and 5€ for shipping. It was much too far away to pick it up and other sellers on ebay offer this exact model by Signature Models for 79,99€ plus shipping.

All of this takes me back to the days of my youth.
I was lucky enough to grow up during the Mopar/ Motorhead era.
Camaros, Mustangs, Firebirds, Trans Ams, Baracudas, Chargers, Comets,
Cougars, Roadrunners, Super Bees, Chevelles and many others.
Wish I still had my first car.
A 1970 Pontiac GTO. This golden beauty could haul ass down the highway.

Nice! Yeah, that would be a nice vehicle now for sure!

Back in 2018 my dad found this car online for his buddy's daughter. Shortly after they picked up this SLC at a Mercedes dealership in Hamburg. It was only a year old with low mileage. And since his buddy worked for Mercedes for over 40 years, he got extra discount.

Unfortunately there's someone who  has progressively been damaging cars along the street where they live. It's between the town's station and a supermarket. During the nights since 2019 he scratched more than 9 cars in the neighborhood with a key or else.

Last night he came back with super glue, so her dad, my dad and I spent this Sunday's afternoon trying to gently remove it.
Since it's acrylic I also used acrylic objects to remove it without damaging the paint. For example I used some acrylic display stands for CDs which I got from AliExpress for about 40 cents each.
The acid solvent in the superglue unfortunately solved part of the hardtop, which is made of plastic elements instead of alloy. It's frustrating and nothing but envy. I'm missing words here.

On Sunday we visited not one but two museums in Denver before flying back to Germany. We were so lucky with the weather during the week, but it was cloudy and kinda cold on our last day.
So the conditions were perfect for some indoor activities!

I'm sorry, Jeff. I probably missed it. We only had two hours for the entire museum until we had to go to the airport. Sunday was a crazy good day.
I found an El Camino at Walmart though, which was sold (gone) a couple days later.
Hopefully you can enjoy the upcoming pictures of the real classic cars, too!

If I see it correctly the red car must be a Chevy El Camino in 1/24 scale.

Sure 'nuff...that's a classic. I can't see the front end, so I can't tell what year its supposed to be, but it looks like a 1968-1972 model El Camino SS.

It's interesting that MotorMax went plastic free as well so you can actually touch the product now.
Didn't recognize that the plastic window was missing when I was in the store. It always annoyed me when people pinched the plastic window anyways.

Hasbro probably jumped on the boat because they got funded by the government for environmental support. Looks like many companies did at least temporarily to grab some extra cash.

That's a great diorama! I missed the earlier car post. It was fun to see a '59 VW Beetle. My wife has a '79 convertible Beetle, so it's always fun to see older models.

I took the bus across the country during the night on Sunday. When I arrived after 10 hours something special passed me by. Only a glimpse later and I would've missed this travel to the past. The 356 is my dream car and it's extremely rare here - ESPECIALLY still driving on the road in regular traffic!

A Porsche 356 B 1600 Super 90 from the 1960s.

That was a rare one

The wife picked up a closeout 23 all wheel drive charger, on the left.
She still needs to get her tint and stripes on. I’ve had my challenger on the right for almost 7 years now.
