Hello peoples. Ive finally moved and pretty much all unpacked.
Ive got alot of my projects (all various stages) in ziplock bags. Only really because i was living in a tiny little studio.
Ive been really wanting to do a 6" figure based what has become one of my favorite characters.
I've really been fighting the urge to throw this out on the net just because this is my first real custom.
So for now i ask that every one just keep this in the Shipyard. Thank you.
This is all Ive got for now and ill post more as i make ground.
(figures for size reference)

Plageuis! Very nice. Well be sure to let me know when I can put this on the front page!

Lol thanks for the encouraging words Tamer, I can be a procrastinator.
But really motivated to keep working on this.
-
This is going to be Awesome.
-
Ambitious project, but it looks great so far. Looking forward to the final product.

Thanks alot fellas. Im really excited to be working on this.
Ive been messing with the hands today.
Think im gonna use fixit sculpt on the back of the hand then ill
Use PlastiDip on the fingers.
-
Wow, each finger will have separate articulation. You are going all out. Nice!

Lol not so much articulated, just more poseable.
As far as i can remember about toys that had wires in them... They broke...
Then again i played with them relentlessly. Like im sure alot of other kids did.
Fortunately this will just be standing around looking cool. :)
What I,ve been working on the last few days is getting the frame scaled and put together.
For any one that read the book, i think im gonna try and mix the description given in the book of Plageuis and the 3'75 scale figure.
I'm gonna go with the 3" figures shin guards on the boots.

Nice choice, glad to hear you read the book and are using it in this project. When taking on a character designed by someone else I always want to learn everything I can about the character, because the knowledge tends to come in handy. Super job on the scale too it looks really good!
-
Nice update, this is really going to move nicely.
-
Been really invested in adult responsibility's this week.
But ill have some really nice stuff to show off in the next few.
I've been considering how im gonna paint this beast.
This will be pretty new territory for me....
I could really use some pointers.

Can I share any of this yet?

Can I share any of this yet?
Sure man, nothing really impressive yet. :p
-
Looks impressive to me. I can't imagine the level of madness it takes to attempt something like this. Anxiously awaiting an update.
-
I too am looking forward to the update ! great start
-
Looks good on our front page.

Sure does bud, thanks alot. Ill feed some images here soonish.
Just got steady work again, so updates may be far a few.

This is getting better and better...
(http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww252/candycoloredblues/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1198.jpg) (http://s725.photobucket.com/user/candycoloredblues/media/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1198.jpg.html)
This week has has been very much trial and error.
Fortunately pretty much everything has worked out really well.
(http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww252/candycoloredblues/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1192.jpg) (http://s725.photobucket.com/user/candycoloredblues/media/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1192.jpg.html)
The first this i went in and did this week was focus on the head so i could get a clearer idea of the scale and hight.
I added a piece of rubber cloak scrap to the back of the head because i had a huge gap between the neck and skull held together with a double ball joint. The rubber also has a indent in it that looks like the dip in the back of the skull.
(http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww252/candycoloredblues/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1191.jpg) (http://s725.photobucket.com/user/candycoloredblues/media/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1191.jpg.html)
I also pulled out the base of the neck joint and moved it forward.
it just seemed to far back for me. It didn't have the alien feel...
(http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww252/candycoloredblues/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1203.jpg) (http://s725.photobucket.com/user/candycoloredblues/media/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1203.jpg.html)
In the book Plagueis has a breathing apparatus like Vaders, attached to his torso with tubes running to his face.
So i decided to imbed wire in his face and a magnet in his chest, so i can make a removable accessory later.
(http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww252/candycoloredblues/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1202.jpg) (http://s725.photobucket.com/user/candycoloredblues/media/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1202.jpg.html)
(http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww252/candycoloredblues/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1201.jpg) (http://s725.photobucket.com/user/candycoloredblues/media/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1201.jpg.html)
I also added detail on the back of the hand's to hide the wire. Tried to make a it look kinda like the back of the hand of the 3" figure. I know these hand's look a bit goofy up close. but in my self defense the hands that i scraped from a fantomex from the marvel 6" line. The right hand already was really deformed. Ill probably endup scrapping it later on.
(http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww252/candycoloredblues/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1200-1.jpg) (http://s725.photobucket.com/user/candycoloredblues/media/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1200-1.jpg.html)
That will be it for awhile. Thank's for checking in.
-
Wow, that is a lot of detail you have added. Looks great.
Off to share again!

This is off to a great start! Your sculpting skills are impressive...looking forward to seeing your progress on this one.

Thanks alot!
Ill try and get an update atleast every weekend.
I was pretty beat this last weekend with the new job, but ill get one up by the end of this week.
Thanks everyone for checking up!
-
Enjoying watching this build!
-
Hey guys just a quick, simple update.
The weekend before last i decided to start the shin guards. then i realized that the length of the legs wasent right,
so i made the lower leg longer and made the up leg shorter. looks more alien now!
Had to wait a week for the styrene that i needed, and started the shin guards.
I screwed up my knee working the new job. So my mood and my pain threshold have to be just right to get anything done.
Thanks for the support guys!!!!

Still looking great to me! Update on the front page.
-
Hey guys, just a quick update. I was gonna wait until i finished this shin guard and leg, but Im just so pleased with my how its turning out i had share it. Ill do my best to have this leg completed tomorrow or atleast have it near complete. There are some materials i think i may try and get to do the cloth affect.

Wow, what did you use for the studs on the shin guard?
-
Wow, what did you use for the studs on the shin guard?
To be honest I'm not sure there some kind of sewing pin I found in my great grans sewing box.
-
Looks fantastic. And good on our pages too!
-
looking good !
-
Hey guys, just gonna drop some flavor down for the tasting.
So this is close to being complete.
There are some buckles and straps on the back that i didn't get a shot of,
and i still need to sculpt in the back of the leg, the jumps suit.
I wanted to flare out the bottom of the shinguard originally... I may go at it a different angle later on,
is was causeing me to much grief.
(http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww252/candycoloredblues/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_12141.jpg) (http://s725.photobucket.com/user/candycoloredblues/media/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_12141.jpg.html)
-
Wow, that looks fantastic. Time for another front pager.
-
Just stunning work already.
Ron
-
The undertaking itself is impressive, but your work thus far: even more so. Eagerly following your progress!
-
Hey guys, its been awhile since ive put any work in to Plagueis. The left leg really put me to the test and required a effective break. Which helped out alot. Ive done more on the right foot, and i did it in half the time than i had with left.
I did end up pulling of the trim on the left shin guard and flaring the bottom.

Great to see you back with an update.

Some great stuff going on here! Looking forward to future updates!

I love the technique you're using on the boots. What kind of metal studs are you using?
Six inch looks like a lot of fun.

They some sort of sewing pin's that i found in my grandmothers old sewing box.
I've used them in in a couple of different ways, i bend them just behind the head of the pin to use them as a brace for the top of the shin guard. And then i glue them down, once ive gotten every thing where i want it. I have to file down and around the heads of the pins to keep them all the same size. These pins are really old ;)

Really cool project great attention to detail. I can see already it will be spectacular.
-
Hey guys, i need some help. I am led to believe that there is an image of either darth Plagious or tenebrous's sabers in
in a short story called "The Tenebrous Way" in #130 of the starwars insider. Any help would be awesome.
http://roqoodepot.com/tag/the-tenebrous-way/
-
I remember that short story. Heaven knows if I can find that issue. I will make no promises, but I will look.
-
Thanks Tamer, i wont expect any miracles. :p
-
well the lower legs are closer than ever to being finished. Just need to sculpt the cloth details on the back and ill start working my way up the body.

Hey guys! still alive! just a quick update on our favorite Mad scientist Sith master!

So ive been messing with the plastidip hands idea.
And the results are such, great material, it'll work.
Im gonna have to sculpt hands, make a mold of them and coat the mold with the plastidip,
then ill place my wire fram joint in the mold over the plastidip close it up and let it cure...
then pray it works like it does in my head. :p
I started messing with the torso the other day and i was a bit skeptical of my skills at first. But it's looking better.
just gonna have to to some patch work and lots of sanding.
Also attempted the lower part of the upper leg. Come to find that i cannot sculpt cloth details and folds...
so if any one has a pointers or a tutorial video the can share, i would be most gracious.
Till next time.

It's a BRILLIANT idea! Brilliant!
I noticed the packing wire that you're using on his hands. I did the something very similar with my Cane Adiss figure. ;D
Make sure you leave a generous gap in the knuckles. My joints were a little tight and about 3 of Cane's wire knuckles snapped, after very few bendings, rendering them limp.
-
I did the same thing with my Cane Adiss figure. ;D
That's amazing! can you share the link? I'de love to see it!

Nice, interesting idea on those hands.
-
I don't know who this character is, but my god, I'm loving the start of this custom.

Im still looking to get ahold of Star Wars inside, issue #130
Im lead to believe there is an artist rendition of Plageuis's or Tenebrous's sabers in the pages.
Ither way it would be cool to have. :p
-
Looks spot on to me. Latest update on the front page.
-
Looks great so far.
I can't wait to see the finished figure.

I love watching the progress of the sculpt.

Hey guys, Hope everyone had a happy Holidays. Im getting back to it and hope to have something to share the next few weeks.

Hey Shipyarders, just want to share a project that ive had in the works for some time now. Its very dear to me.
Its played a big part in my love for the franchise when i was growing up.

Each separate project will include the characters competing in the tournament and
there respective piloted vehicle. (except Boba who just flys around with his jet pack the whole match...:p)
I've got 2 characters in the parts stage currently.
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Wittin
And Boba, which i hope to bring something fresh to game.
Thats it for now. :)
-
Ah one of my faves from old Ps1.
I always had a fondness to customize the pair of Twi'lek sisters Tia and Ghia that flew the snowspeeder. For obvious reasons. I can't wait to see what you can create man!
-
Hey guys! The weeks not ever over and Im already sharing progress!
Im working on stuff right now, but its looking so good, that i just had to share as is.
So first of forgive the roughness of the neck, Ii just applied the fix it and gave a basic form...
So what im gonna do with the utility belt is i gave a basic form first off using a material called castaline.
This stuff is made for lost wax sculpting/casting, but it holds shape really well and i can remove from everything with ease, when i complete my mold.
After i make a mold of the pelvis/belt area, ill remove the castaline belt from the pelvis. Then ill take plasti dip material that ive been messing with,
and smear it in the recesses of the mold where the belt would be setting. Ill put the pelvis back in, which will form to the plasti dip close it all up and let it cure.
It makes sense in my head :p
When i actually get to doing all this ill take photos.
Also made shoulder armor which i was skeptical about it hindering the figure from bringing his arms up!
(http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww252/candycoloredblues/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1255.jpg) (http://s725.photobucket.com/user/candycoloredblues/media/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1255.jpg.html)

But it actually comes up just enough to still look good
I took some cloth material, glued it down on ither side and exposed joint and sculpted over it. :)
More to come later this week. :D
-
Looks good. Off to share.

Hey guys, ive just gotta share this deviant art user.
Ive been looking for a decent or reasonably good likeness of Plagueis to model my figure after.
There are alot of good renditions of him on the net but this zbrush is so awesome.
Along with other great pieces this guy is worth checking out.

Nice!
-
Hey guy, So its kinda been 1 step forward 1 step back this week.
So I got to a good point with the belt around Wednesday, and started to notice that my torso was to long again,
and the neck was also long for my taste. So i went back and fixed up the torso. little shorter now.
Still need to work on the neck.
(http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww252/candycoloredblues/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1258.jpg) (http://s725.photobucket.com/user/candycoloredblues/media/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1258.jpg.html)

The belt is one of two items i need to sculpt, make a mold of, and mabk a plasti dip copy.

That belt is awesome. Update on the front page.

Thanks for the link. That Marton Antal has a lot of great stuff. His Yoda is amazing.
That's a great reference for your headsculpt. Detail and attitude. Good luck with that sculpt. What will you be using? Sculpy?
-
What will you be using? Sculpy?
Ya know, that's a great question... I haven't given it a lot of thought.
I guess I kinda always assumed I was gonna use the fix it.
But I don't know how comfortable I am using the material yet, as far sculpting really detailed stuff.
Especially with the cure time like it is. If I were to go with fix it, ide probably have to work in stages.
Then on the other hand I've got a 50/50 mix of sculpy/sculpy firm, I made and haven't used much of lately.
Dunno, gonna have to do some experimenting.
Thanks for bringing up that question though.
-
Hey guys, ive seemed to have fallen of the planet for some time.
But im back and looking to get some stuff done and shared with
everyone in the next few weeks.
But i wanna say thank you to everyone for your support and
interest in my work thus far, it means a great deal to me.
Also, im super stoked to see Asoka make her comeback in the new Rebels!
-
Welcome back mate and look forward to seeing more WIP of Plagueis.
Ron

Nice to see you back around.

Glad to hear we'll be seeing more amazing work from you, with such perfect details, any Hasbro Plagueis will have nothing on yours.

Ha! Thanks man. I could probably bad mouth Hasbro just as much as the next guy.
But they do a fair job at what they do.
Welcome back mate and look forward to seeing more WIP of Plagueis.
Nice to see you back around.
Thanks fellas, I haven't gone to far. I hop on a couple times a week and eye ball some stuff.
Ive just been pre occupied with some nonsense that i realized really isent worth the time ive spent on it.
So im gonna work on what really matters. ;)
So i think ive gathered enough guts & perspective on situation to tackle my ordeal of hand troubles.
I only say that because ive never done this before. :p
I know ive posted images of the hands i was working on at the beginning....Ive scraped that idea.
And im gonna go full scratch hands this time. All but excluding the actual hard plastic joint will me all me.
These are just the frame and general scales ill be starting with. And tomarrow ill Add the Castilene and begin the detailing of the hands.

Oh my lord...the amount of work you're putting into this project is incredible. Amazing.
-
Wow, that hand work is gonna be awesome.
I actually did something similar for hands when I used romex wire attached to wooden wrists and then placed a latex glove inside the wire fingers and used spray foam. I had to sculpt is up a bit once the foam set, but it works.
Off to share on the front page.

Off to share on the front page.
Wow Tamer that sounds really complicated! I hadent thought about using latex or spray foam. Ill have to look in to those a bit.
As wire goes, Ive had a flashback to high school art class.
We had been given a length of flower arrangement wire.
to keep flowers grouped together and such. really durable, thin,
and has a pretty secure plastice coating on the wire.
It the wire i used on my hands the other day.
Nothing to special today. Got started a little later than i had hoped on my hands.
Had to too run errands.
But i got the frames Dipped and the vedict is still out...
there a little bigger than i would like, so im gonna have to work on this a bit.
I did find myself a Tie pilot today though!

It was a lot of trial and error for me too. Keep after it, this is gonna be one great custom figure.
-
Hey guys spent the last few days doing odd stuff with Plagious, mostly adjusting some issues here and there.
And started some casual sculpting on the legs and hands. Even did a little work on the head.
But nothing real ground breaking.
Except for the hands.... The issues is was having with the hands, was something that started to keep me up at night...
After some questioning of my theorized methods, i decided i'm just gonna go for it.
At first they seemed to big when i dipped them in the wax material,
but i thought they would look better when slimmed them down and gave them detail.
The results as such.... not bad!
The method i used to build the frame for the hands allowed me to end up
with a small length wire exposed below the would be ball joint,
which allows me to tie the hands to the wrists to gain a perceived scale.
I think they are a little on the big side still,
But given that most of the the rest of the figure isent complete.
My thoughts are that once were all finished everything will balance out and look to scale.
And seeing that i used some marvel legend fodder for Plagious's feet, that are superhero
proportions, ill just have to deal with it :p
I don't feel the images i managed to get give them justice.
I did take a few other photos of the hands and they are in the WIP photobucket link at the bottom.

What I like too is the range of movement you ought to be able to get out of them. Nice work. Off to share your latest update.

Your sculpting skills are amazing mate and the proof is in the pudding 10/10.

That's certainly something I'm working towards. I think as a force wielding (or manipulating you prefer) dynamic character, he is required to have a certain amount flexibility. Much like any other dynamic character we see in our favourite lines.
Your sculpting skills are amazing mate and the proof is in the pudding 10/10.
Ron
Thanks a lot Ron, I gotta say I have a lot of respect for your work. I still get frustrated when I'm trying to achieve a certain look to something when I'm sculpting, and totally miss the mark. But I'm still learning, studying every time I pick up tools.

Hey Shipyards, this last week was a real hands on study session i decided to put myself through,
as far as sculpting technique and skill are concerned.
Every day was a leg day! :p
(http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww252/candycoloredblues/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1301.jpg) (http://s725.photobucket.com/user/candycoloredblues/media/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1301.jpg.html)
I had to scrap my original idea of useing the material that was left from the base figure details
at the top of the legs, and just paint over it.
Only because i wouldent get the effect of the detailed space suite i was going for.
Like I have mentioned, I havent had any technique time so i was
really just giving myself a crash course on sculpting natural cloth details & such.
So if you notice some things look better than others, I either got lucky or just learning. :P
Still a few things i wanna do, But pretty happy over all.
(http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww252/candycoloredblues/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1305.jpg) (http://s725.photobucket.com/user/candycoloredblues/media/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1305.jpg.html)
Anyways, thanks again for your support. Hope you enjoy.
Lots of recent detailed photos and some progress shot in my photobucket.

Thanks alot guys, there are some inconsistencies I'm aware of but im
pretty happy over all with how its turning out.
I find myself constantly going back and adjusting things om not quite content with.
But that's ok with me because i know it will look better in the end.
Happy Friday!
Just a quick taste, in the first steps of the all important accessories.
My idea is to have the actual saber blade hidden in the shaft of the staff, with a spring loaded action.
Which will come up through the hollow, detachable saber hilt.
I make it sound cool, but i've already come to find that this will take some planning to make it real.

Duuuuuuuddddeeeeee.
This is really going to be one awesome piece of work when complete.
-
The attention to detail with every aspect of this is just going to make this one legendary. Off to share the latest.
-
This is really amazing , i have to agree with Tamer when finished this will be Legendary !
-
Hello again shipyards, coming back at you again with an update! Plagueis & i have come along way together, and we still have a ways to go before we are all finished.
But these last few weeks have really made me realize how far ive come. This likeness i feel is just a step in the
right direction. I really like what i managed to capture as far as likeness. But i felt that it just wasent quite
what i was looking to get....and i wasent sure what it was exactly...
The best and loveliest critic, my ladyfriend, Agreed with me that it didnt look right...
his nose was to big...even went as far as too tell me that he shares a likeness with Squidward!
If i wasent for her im not sure that i would have been able to pin point the exact problem. And on that note im
gonna re-work the nose a bit. Also finished up the cloth, on the upper part of the arms.
So at this point it may be awhile till i post anything as far as Plagueis concerned, due to work
and some "detailing" stuff that ill need to address with this figure.
Progressing forward, ill be working on other figures based from the same book Darth Plagueis
I intend to do such charecters as,
Darth Sidious "apprentice"
11-4D http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/11-4D
Sun Guard mercenary http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sun_Guard
To name a few.
Ill decide late who else will make the lineup.
Thanks for checking back with me.
A few other test shots in my WIP photobucket, please have a look.

Wow, It definitely captures the likeness of Plagueis, even though I agree the nose it rather large for any version of plagueis I've ever seen, but squidward looking may be a bit far. Slight reduction should be sufficient in making it look a bit better, though I think it looks good the way it is.
-

I'll deffinetly be giving him a nose job
lol i now all i can is the squidward laugh eveytime i look at it. :p

That headsculpt is nothing short of absolutely amazing!
-
Hey guys! So i haven't vanished after all! been really busy with life stuff...
But im steam rolling work on Plagueis. Also Planing future projects, as well as characters based of the same book... ;)
This is just a preview. Here is a shot of my prepped molds for parts.
Ill be putting a Video together on how my ill be putting my flexible hands together for Plagueis.
So im looking to put that up for people. Ill be back soonish
(http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww252/candycoloredblues/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1529.jpg)
-
I'm glad to see you back, and you're mold prepps look really well thought out, wish I was more proficient in that with that sort of thing. Can't wait to see more characters from the Plagueis book too.
-
Nice to see you back. Off to share your news.

Hey guys been messing with Plagueis's LightSaber. After going through my junk boxes a few times, and revising my original a couple times.
Here is what were gonna go with. It will look really awesome on a staff which i plan to make soonish. Still a couple things im gonna do just before a make molds and casts of it.
And on that note ill probably be making resin copys next week since the UPS guy cam this morning
Then i can start working on his chest mounted breathing box.
-
AWESOMEEEEEEEEE! Amazing work!
-
The saber looks great.
Ron
-
Pretty nice. Can't wait to see this put together!
-
Lol Thanks alot guys for the comments. Im getting really close to having some finished work.
Then i get to learn some painting. And im sorry its taking so long, just really using this a learning experience.
And i want it to be just perfect.
-
Plagueis is really shaping up nicely. Looking forward to seeing the final completed figure.
-
Hello again. Didnt get around to getting any molds made or and casting done, but ive been keeping busy.
Made the Staff and saber for the lightsaber.
I wanted to keep it kinda similar to the 3'37 figure accessories
And ive also been feeling that the 6" lines saber blades are to thin looking. so went chunkyer.
-
Damn impressive work mate.
-
Looks spot on to me. Any timeline on getting Plageuis done? I can't about stand it! Just lovely attention to detail I am seeing here.
-
Very nice work on the saber!
Darth P looks amazing!

Really soon im thinking. There is only one more item ill need to sculpt before i make molds and joints.
-
Cool deal, really looking forward to seeing the final version of this.
-
Hey guys! Hope youve had a great Holiday season!
I have and loved every moment of it!
Ive been keeping busy as i could with the holidays going on. Didnt get alot done but still progressing, getting molds made
and resin poured.
Ill be getting SOME final resin parts made this next week and wrapping up the last of my original sculpts.
Lastly ill share Plagueis's breathing device I have Frankensteined together using an obscure found object to create the original part.
(http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww252/candycoloredblues/Darth%20plagueis%20WIP/DSC_1621.jpg) Any guesses what this whole thing is made from?
Thanks again. Cheers.

-
Awesome progress. That breather looks sweet. My best guess is... Disposable lighter parts? IDK, but it looks cool.
-
Awesome looking breather, And I must say I've been patiently awaiting the finished product of your custom Plagueis. Your wip is amazing.
-
Amazing work. Anticipating your final reveal.
-
I cannot wait to see you finish this one up.
Hey, do you think Snoke is a play off of Plageius?
-
My best guess is... Disposable lighter parts?
Lol Nice guess!
All but 2 parts are from from the disposable lighters yes. It' s amazing how many different variations on
the same parts.
I cannot wait to see you finish this one up.
Hey, do you think Snoke is a play off of Plageius?
I have to say i that i like the evidence presented.
The tragedy of Darth Plagueis, from the Revenge of the Sith soundtrack
is virtually the same song from Snoke's song from Ep7...
That alone is huge for me.
But with how the Darth Plagueis book wrapped up. It left many questions unanswered....
I dunno lots of theories floating around... but i like this one. ;)
-
Hey shipyards, it's been a while since I've last checked in.
The day jobs been keeping me busy.
But it's a good work.
I've been making little progress on Plagueis since I last checked it.
I have done a final maskless head sculpt.
Been practicing and testing molds and resins casts. Pretty confident with my skills now.
Just got a SmoothOn order last monday.
We are gonna get back to work and finish him
up.

Plagueis is so awesome! Amazing work, I was looking at my 6inch shadow guard today an was thinking the staff would work for a Plagueis custom. Any chance of a casted plagueis kit?
-
I hope you don't mind I used the bbc code from imgur to show your images in the forums. That Plagueis is sure awesome!
Off to the front page and welcome back!

Im glad you like it dude.
Ive given it some thought, and i think what ill do is offer made to order mini busts. Larger than the 6inch.
And then if there are interested people, and after i managed to replicate all the parts without any serious hiccups.
Then ill consider making make 5-10 completed carded figures.
If the shipyarders are interested i could probably do some made to order kits for a discount, i dont see why not.
And he would include the staff i made for him. vadsab

I had inteded to put down bbc from the start. XD
I never really had done any posting from my phone, didn't familiarize myself with the imgur app much ither.
Mostly scrolled through posts for my news.
Thank you for doing that, if i post anything from my phone ill make sure to edit it to bbc when i get to my desk.

Plagueis looks phenomenal.
I'm really looking forward to see the finished figure with the breathing device.
Excellent work.
-
Yes, I remember seeing pictures of the 3.75" Plagueis holding the wired forearms of his 6" version in progress! Man, have it already been 3 years since? Well, at least I got an account on Instagram by now to follow you on there, too! ;)
I just went through all the pictures of the progress so far and I really like the comparison with Squidward! That's my favourite detail and made me laugh quite a bit! It looks like you have fixed Plagueis' nose by now! And I gotta tell you, your sculpting skills are incredible! Did you use wax wire for all your molds? Dental labs use those on a daily basis, too! The staff for his lightsaber looks great as well as his lightsaber itself! I cannot get enough of looking at all the great progress of the last years! And I really hope you find the time to finish him, soon! It'll be stunning!
Which material do you use for the sculpts once again?
Thanks for sharing the latest progress and keep up the amazing work! I wonder if Hasbro will ever make a 6 inch Plagueis - even if so, two things are for sure: it'll take very long and it won't look as good as your custom does! The sculpt is just phenomenal! Good work needs its time.
- Philipp
P.S.: Your Imperial Shock/Sandtrooper combo looks pretty sweet, too! It's cool that you got three of them! And of course I gave them a like on Instagram, too!

Hey guys! so this is the Plagueis mini bust ive thrown together.
(6inch scale)
Patrol trooper for scale
Its still a little rough but over all im pleased with the looks of it.
The mold was a little imperfect and i will likely make a new one.
But it still looks really nice.
If anyone is interested in grabbing one, message me.
Thanks again.
Has it already been 3 years since?
Did you use wax wire for all your molds?
Which material do you use for the sculpts once again?
Hey dude, glad you are liking the progress!
I am using wax wire for most of my molds.
Originally intended for lost wax casting for Jewelry design.
Ive been using fix-it sculpt for the original sculpted parts and various smooth-on materials for the replicated parts.
I'm really looking forward to see the finished figure with the breathing device.
Thanks alot!
That breathing device is one of the last few thing i need to make a mold for.
And honesty im not sure im gonna try.
Its gonna be hard to make one just because it has so many small recessed areas.
I may try and redesign it.
-
Mini bust is phenomenal!
-
Wow, that is great. Let me go share this. Thanks for making it available to the Shipyarders too.
