Hi guys! Happy new year to all!
Today I have a good surprise. But first, I will tell u a little story...
"Some years ago (2005) I´ve made a custom of Han Solo to a friend of mine. He´s a big fan of Han Solo and Indiana Jones (I think he´s a Mr. Ford fan actually ;D) and have a very impressive collection with figures of both characters, but he was sad because there was no old version of Han. So, he asked me to do it using a Sideshow Han figure as a base. We chose the 12" figure because of the oportunity to put more age marks in the face of old Han. Some time later in the work process, I did it. That was the story so far..."
Back to the surprise, I received a post recently from one member of the NextMovie from MTV and he told me that this same Old Han was selected to the 25 fan arts list, created to talk about some personal visions that fans have about the Episode VII (project announced by Disney).
The site with the NextMovie list: http://www.nextmovie.com/blog/best-star-wars-disney-episode-7-fanart/ (http://www.nextmovie.com/blog/best-star-wars-disney-episode-7-fanart/)
Thanks again to the NextMovie team!!! :)
So, I want to share with you part of the customization process.
Now, the first part of the customization: THE BASE!!!
In the beginning we decided to create age marks and put more hair with beard... and we chose the Dr. Kimble visual to guide us.
Then, isolate de body with plastic to protect it from eventual damage and the aging process begins...

-
Thanks to all guys!!!
I will put more work here soon!! :)

Hello friends!!
Continuing with some of my old customs, I want to show u my version of Detective Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) from Blade Runner. I really love this movie and this character is awesome!! It´s a bit old too. I´ve done this custom in 2005, like that "Old Han Solo" from the previous Topic
So, I tried to create my 3.75" version of Deckard in the "classic-detective-in-overcoat-running-in-the-roofs" style...LOL.
Thanks for watching!! :)

WOW! Excellent work! Do you plan on doing anymore Blade Runner customs?
-
Simply amazing! A perfect tribute to an awesome movie.
-
Thanks sith_fire30 and Clonehead !!!
I´ve made Deckard to long ago. Maybe it´s time to continue this customs series. :)
-
That is a great looking Deckard! I also love the roof top diorama you created.
-
Very nice, back on the front page.
-
Love this custom, as well as the rooftop. Deckard is a custom I have on my list of ones I want to attempt as I like to try customs of game characters and movie characters to break from Star Wars customizing, so this is some much needed inspiration for me. Awesome work
-
Love it!
-
Damn impressive work on Deckard mate totally love it.
Ron
-
Thanks Luke Sprywalker, Tamer, JetpackBlues, Mando Assasin and hemble !
Thanks about the roftop compliments too! This background was originally created to my Necromunda tabletop game, but it fits fine as a scenery to Mr. Deckard. LOL 0/
Thanks for the frontpage too!
-
a great custom from a superb film
-
your Deckard and Blade Runner rock!!
-
Hi there guys!!
Thanks for all the comments and tips ;)
I've been away for too much time. All that life situations and stuff. Anyway, I'm back and with some new work and projects.
First, I want to show you a custom figure. It was an idea to make a nautolan security officer. He is a character of my RPG game and will appear in another future project.
This character was created to represent a tough guy, with some scars and cyberware. The type of character who fought his way up to the top. A veteran indeed. I used Kit Fisto's head from the animated series and the mandalorian body from Jaster Mereel and Montross comic pack.
I've changed the head. Then I put some modelling skills at use, creating a more agressive looking to the figure.
Later, put everything together then...PAINTED!!! 0/
I choose weathering painting for the holsters and red+yellow pattern for the armor pieces. With white details.
For the skin, dark green and extra green freckles.
Enjoy!

Man, this Mando kicked ass!
I'm anxious to see more Marvel and Fallout stuff from you..
-
Hi Blackthorne!
Thanks for the comments and suggestions
But this is not a mandalorian...hehehehe He's more like a Security Officer. ;) LOL!!
-
Wow!!! Really great figure there buddy!!!
-
Wow, awesome painting and sculpting work on this guy! I love his cybernetic eye.
-
Very nice. This style reminds me of another customizer I liked from year's past. I can't put my finger on it yet though.
Anyhow, I like this one a lot and he is now sporting on our front page.
-
Amazing Nautilan Mando. How will you ever make a helmet for him?
I've had a similar project planned with a Bossk head waiting to go on a Jango body.
Thanks for the step by step on the face sculpt. Very helpful.
-
Thanks to all for the comments and thanks for the frontpage selection !!! 0/
I'm anxious to see your helmet design, Sjefke!!! When it's done, show us! I don't create a helmet because this character is not a mando (lol... despite his appearence ;D). But the suggestion is amazing. I really like the visual of "non-human-heads-helmets". I will think about it. ;)
For the modelling, I've used epoxi clay. And for the crude cyber-eye, I've used a bit of pvc (Im not sure what is the english name of it. It's like a white plastic, used in credcards, and it's sold in sticks or boards)
-
Great job on the figure. I like the color scheme chosen for the armor. You did a great job on the sculpt and tutorial.
-
Ah I love a mando with a touch of badness........nicely done
-
Hi guys! Thanks for all the suggestions and posts. I really aprecciate all the comments here in ISY. It's awesome receive all that feedback. To me, represents a good opportunity to learn and grow. :)
So, when I realised that many friends liked this nautolan custom, I invited him to visit my own facebook. And the meeting of creature and creator was...weird. ;D
Ok guys! I know that his armor looks like a mandalorian. LOL ;D But if he's a bad and tough guy, I like to imagine what he will thinks about it...
I will show you...
... that was really intense... indeed!!! ;D
-
Hi friends !!
Recently, I've receive a request. A friend of mine wish a Wonder Woman created upon a Barbie doll base. I know ISY is focused in Star Wars Universe primarily, but like my Old Han, I think it will be nice to show you all that "work in progress" style of pictures. The work is not finished, but I will post the modeling process.
The only one directive of this work was: "the custom should be like a Barbie Wonder Woman". As if it was part of some special collection. It will not pretend to be realistic like "movie-action-figures"
Enjoy ;)

My daughter just gave this two thumbs way up! It turned out great! Time to go get this on the front page first thing in the morning!.
-
Ahhh :)
Hey Tamer! Thanks to your daughter for the double thumbs-up! She made me really happy! 0/
I work with kids almost every day in the school (I'm Art teacher) and they are always awesome!!
And thanks to all for the feedback :)
-
LOL. She asked me when this was going to be in the toy store this evening. I told her it was a special project from an artist. I could see her wheels start turning. It would be so cool to see them do all the SW Characters this way. I think it would really hook in a few more gals.
-
Looks good. Smooth paints. I really dig the display stand.
-
I guys! Here is another custom I made for a client (Blackthorne. Yes, he's here in ISY too!!). It's a BAT figure from GI Joe, with leather jacket and bullet holes. And then, weathering paiting!
This BAT dude have seen better days ;)
Enjoy!

Love the BAT! :o Did you fabricate that jacket?
-
One of my favorites customs made by you. 0/
-
Looks good on our front page. Off to share on our facebook page.
-
Very cool and interesting take on the BAT.
-
Thanks !
This jacket is from Mutt, from Indiana Jones action figures. But the chest (with the t-shirt and the bullet holes) was made by me with epoxy clay.
