After getting used to your awesomeness, instead of my eyes popping out of my head Arnold Schwarzenegger Total Recall style when I see your new creations, I merely sit back and drool uncontrollably...so there is a slight improvement!

You really have excelled again, the subtle dusting on the droid is a case of perfect weathering technique and the whole scene looks totally authentic.

There seems to be a theme going on here, we all have our favourite Star Wars locations, can I assume that Tatooine has a special place in your heart?

Jules thanks heaps mate it means alot coming from you,  and glad to hear that the ole eyes are not poping out of your head and don't worry about the drooling that never goes away LOL.

Yeah Tatooine is my favourite as I love all the rustic and gritty styles that you can achieve, my goal this year is to do a 1m x 1m dio of a Tatooine.

Ron

Well add me to that list too Ron.

You truly are one of the great ambassadors of customizing and the sharing of your tips and techniques is so much appreciated.

This is now on the front page.

Wow, if you mean connect all these mini Tatooine Dios into one large one that would be cool!

Hi All

Tamer - As always thanks mate and you know me I really like to help out when it comes to this hobby. I won't be using these smaller dios that I have done it will be all new pieces.

Rodger - Cheers mate and do you have ESP ;D, what I am going to be doing is having the dios seperate but they will connect up to form a larger diorama.

Great tutorial!  I'm hoping it can find a permanent home in the yards somewhere?  Maybe a tutorial section?  I just know that when I try to hunt this tutorial down in a couple of years, it'll be buried in the Raidersesque archives, of all your spectacular work. I know I could just bookmark the page, but quick and easy access to your methods would benefit future customizers too.

Cheers mate and really appreciate the comments and glad you liked the tutorial.  A tutorial section would be nice but you can always go to my site and view all the tutorials I have done in the tutorial section.

Don't forget about the Resources and References section we have here in the forums. You could just copy and paste your tutorial messages into that section with whatever dio title you would like! I would love to see that section get more use!

I know I'm like way late here ...... but thanks a TON Ron! With some practice I should be able to step up the level of my customs. I think I'm gonna go buy some chalk pastels. Hope I can find it.

Hi All

Well finally got to a little customizing this week it's nothing to much so enjoy.

Recipe

Dewback and Sandtrooper - Are from the new set, the Sandy has just had a repaint and I left the articulation so he and be used off and on the Dewback.

The Dewback has had it's joints superglued and sealed using polymer clay. The harness has been removed and replaced with a leather one the only parts I used was the saddle, large rolls and the plastic mouth grips.

The reins have had metal O-rings added and leather used, I used 1/6 buckles to complete the harness. The extra gear is parts from some WW2 German and American equipement, I decided to give the blaster it's own holster like I did with my 1/6 version and also added a holster for the prode stick as well.

Base - Was one I used for a 1/6 WW2 German dio I did awhile ago, I dropped it while I was cleaning a decided to use it for this. The Dewback can come off so it can be moved around.

Ron
