That looks really excellent. It's amazing how much better the figure is with just some good paint applications.

Thanks heaps Jeff and yeah the details on these figures is actually excellent and as you said it just needs a good paint app to bring them out.

You made this look so much better. Man, wow. Comments on the front pages.

Thanks so much Shawn.

Hi All,

XL-15 Maintenance, 1:72 scale.

Recipe.

XL-15 & Figures -  the XL-15 is from Mattel's Hyper speed series, the Buzz that comes with the ship is to big so I looked at a few pics and figured it was about a 1:72 scale ship. I had to make a new cockpit which I did using plastic card and rod and then I repainted and weathered it using Vallejo Paints.

The figures are from Preiser and these were WW2 German tank crew so I had to remove the heads as they had caps on and replaced them with heads with hair and then sanded away the German tank uniform and the ladder was completely scratch built using plastic card and rod.

Base - is a piece of high density foam cut to shape and I then used a pencil to mark out the tarmac sections, I then painted and weathered it using Vallejo Paints. The two hoses are just thin electrical wire and the hose connection is from a German WW2 tank and the two piece with aerials on the are from an old Star Wars figure.

That's brilliant, Ron! I love the weathering and the ladder turned out really fantastic. Adding the ground crew was a great touch, they look great.

Thanks heaps Jeff and I was actually going to paint it and have it on a stand but when I got it I thought a diorama would be way better.

Hi All,

German King Tiger WW2 - 1:72 scale.

Recipe.

Tank/Figures - are both from Dragon Models and were painted using Vallejo Paints and the tank was weathered with Pastel Chalks.

Base - is an old father's day present my son gave me a few ago which use to be a key holder. The ground is a mix spafilla/sand/brown paint and once dry was given a few washes of beige brown and then dry brushed a medium brown.

The stone fence is metal which I've had for years and I think it was an AB figures product, the static grass is from my local hobby shop and the grass tufts are from Army Painter and the bushes and trees are from Woodland Scenics.

I love the paint job on that King Tiger! That's awesome. The landscape is excellent. It looks so realistic. I can totally imagine a scene just like this somewhere in France.
