Hi All,

The Phantom - Modern Version 1:12 scale.

I got the inspiration for this figure when I saw a picture done by Gasa979 over on DeviantArt which is the last pic.

Recipe.

The Phantom - the figure is a knock off of Mezco's Black Panther figure and I decided instead of going exactly like Gasa979'S picture I kept the whole body and gave him a belt and holster made from pleather.

The pistols are resin prints and the buckle is from the Neca Defenders of the Earths Phantom. For the mask I decided to give him half face mask which I cut the lower face section off and added a lower face from a Superman Kingdom come figure and the hands are from a TBLeague Phicen figure and the skull rings are cut from some Games Workshop Spacemarines miniatures and the good mark ring is just some solid round plastic card.

Base - the base came with the knock off figure and the stone work is high density foam cut and sanded and I used a pencil to carve the floor and the Phantom writing. The grass tufts are from Gamers Grass and the dirt is a mix of spakfilla/sand/mulch and Vallejo's Chocolate brown.

He looks great, Ron. Are you going to try and find a necklace for him? You did some really good work cutting and adding small parts to make him look good (half a Superman face - that's dedication :) ). I like him. 2040 Phantom is still my favorite though.

Thanks so much bud and I actually removed the necklace that was on him as it reminded me to much of the Black Panther and I really liked the 2040 cartoon but the only thing I couldn't get use to was how tall and lanky the characters were.

Thanks as always Shawn.

Ah...I get that. I do agree with you, the skinny, tall characters were a bit too stylized for me. I still really like the character design, so to see you do it more "heroic" was pretty cool.

Hi All,

Lightyear XL-15, 5" scale.

NOTE - The last pic is what it looked out of the box before painting.

Recipe - the XL-15 is from Mattel and I removed the cockpit jump up mechanism and made a back seat using foam board and added new hand controls using wire and plastic rod and added a few bits and pieces from the parts box. I added marking and the extra number 15 to the ship using stencils I made and I then repainted and weathered the ship using Vallejo Paints.

Base - is a piece of high density foam and I added lights using small round Gundam lights and the covers are lids from superglue bottles and the step ladder was made using plastic rod. The red piece of equipment was made using a crystal grade container from another Lightyear figure and the cylinders and used asthma sprays and the hoses are electrical cord with the wiring pulled out.

This is sweet Ron! I love the weathering. I haven't seen this yet in the wild and Amazon US says it won't start shipping until May 18th, so I'm a bit jealous that you already have it in hand for modification. And yet...I can't think of a better person to customize it, either. Excellent work.

Thanks so much Shawn and yeah with a little addons and alterations it would suit the smaller 1:12 figures for sure.

Thanks heaps buddy and I just walked into the local shopping centre and they had it and a lot of the characters as well so I had to scoop it up along with a few figures.
