Absolutely stunning. I agree with Tamer, the water effect is brilliant. You did a great job applying the faux fur as well. Truly excellent outcome.

Really glad you like it mate and thanks heaps, I had to use brown colour fur as I couldn't find black and I was a little worried that once I painted it, it would look crappy but I was stoked with the outcome.

If you hadn't said that you painted the fur, I wouldn't have been able to tell from the photos. So it worked. Come to think of it, black over brown might actually give the hair a more "realistic" look - as we usually have highlights or other color tones in our hair.

Cheers mate and yeah your right the black paint over the brown does give it a more realistic look and adds depth to it as well.

Hi All,

"SMILE" diorama is now complete. Last pic is the reference that I used to make the diorama just in case no one has see POTA and I also added a WIP pic at the end as well so you can see it all before it was painted etc.

Recipe.

Gorilla - is from NECA and I repainted him using Vallejo Paints and I added fake fur to the head and the photographic plate was made using plastic card and balsa wood.

Base - is high density foam cut to desired shape and the dirt is a mix of sand/dirt and spakfilla and the grass is grass tufts from the local gaming store which I dry brushed with a 50/50 mix of Vallejo Beige Brown and Light Sand as the tufts were to green.

The camera is made using balsa wood and plastic card and the tripods are plastic tube cut to length and glued into place. The lens is a piece of plastic tube cut to the desired thickness and the lens/glass was done by mixing a little Vallejo White with Woodland Scenics Realistic Water and applying that to the inside of the plastic tube.

Looks great Ron. Is this the scene from the first movie where they are hunting humans and posing for pictures after the successful hunt? I seem to recall that.

Off to share.

Hi All,

I picked myself up a few JP jeep wranglers from Mattel off ebay for cheap and decided to Start converting it into Robert Muldoon's jeep number 10.

I removed the roll bars which the one on the windscreen will need to be cut off the windscreen using a knife. I have repainted the jeeps red area's using Vallejo's Flat Red and mixed Vallejo's Beige Brown, White and Iraqi Sand until I got the colour to match and repainted the numbers.

The winch was removed and I painted the black string with Vallejo's Gun Metal and reattached it, the tool boxes, side mirrors, rear view mirror and sun visors were made using plastic card.  I painted the tyres matt black and the chairs medium grey and also painted the blinkers, flood lights and then gave it a wash of Vallejo's Medium Brown.

The only things left to do are add mud to the jeep and make a diorama for it.

Ron
