I think it is not very comfortable for the soldier but the technique is still used in some modern armed forces today.

Very true and I'm glad when I was in the Army we didn't do it.

Hi all,

I finished this small WW2 dio off a few days and just took pics today.
Recipe

Figures and motorcycle - are from Master Box and is kit #3539, the figures and motorcycle were built straight out of the box. The figure peeing, I used a tiny amount of putty for his penis and for his urine I used wire covering from an old set of ear phones as it was clear and I cut off what I needed and then stretched it out.

The figures and motorcycle were painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints and pastel chalks.

Base - is a old action figure base and I built up the ground work using spakfilla and fine sand and applied it to the base. Once dry I painted and dry brushed the mix with Vallejo paints.

The sign is from Verlinden and the posts are pieces of balsa wood. The grass are grass tufts which are from Army Painter and the small bushes are from Woodland Scenics, the taller plants are pieces of real weeds which were treated with methylated spirits to dry them out and stop them from rotting.

Hi All,

My niece is a huge smurf fan and she sent a bunch of smurfs to make little diorama's for them.

Recipe

Evil Smurfette - was originally smurfette from Jakks Pacific and is from the grab em figures, my niece wanted evil smurfette so I just repainted the figure using Vallejo paints.

base - is high density foam cut to size and then I used a spakfilla/sand mix with paint added and once mixed it was applied to the base.

The small stones are pieces of kitty litter painted a medium grey and the tall grass and small plants are plastic fish tank plants which were given a few washes of medium green.

Hi All,

Papa smurf at work in his laboratory.

Recipe

Papa - is from Jakks Pacific smurf line that came out when the first smurf was out and he was painted using Vallejo paints.

Base - is foam board with balsa wood used for the floor and I used a pencil to mark out the floor boards and nail holes.  The book rest and table were made using balsa wood and the candles are made using plastic rod for the candle stick and watered down spakfilla for the melted wax and flames.

The candle holder on the book stand was made by cutting the top off one of the bottles that comes with the papa smurf figure. The candle holder on the table was made using a plastic toy wheel and the rest is done using plastic tube and rod.  The grey container on the table was made using left over piece from the candle holder on the book stand and the large container came with the papa smurf lab set.

The books I printed of the net and then folded the pages and glued them together and the potion containers are pieces of action figure stands that I just cut to size. The middle of the stands were hollow so I added Woodland Scenics Realistic water inside with a little coloured paint and he potion labels I printed of the net and glued in place.

Hi All,

Handy Smurf diorama.

Recipe

Handy - is from Jakks Pacific and I super glued the joints and then covered them with putty and painted him using Vallejo Paints.

Base - is foam board and the ground work is a mix of spakfilla and sand with brown paint added in while mixing. The stepping stones were done with high density foam which I cut out the shapes and then used a piece of sandstone and lightly tapped it into the foam to get a stone effect.

The grass tufts are from Army Painter and the frame work, ladder, blanks, sign, tool box and floor are made using balsa wood. The bucket is made using a plastic tube cut to size and then I used balsa wood for the bucket itself and then I used plastic card for the metal brace and the handle is old computer wire.

The nails were made using plastic rod and plastic tube and the tools were made using plastic card, plastic rod and balsa wood.
