Ad finally for this update we have the Sandalorian a combination Sandtrooper, Tusken Raider, and Mandalorian Warrior. Codenamed Dust. Dust is as hardcore as they come. He has extremely extensive survival skills and is capable of surviving longer than most humans even without his environment armor suit and supplies. Dust is a light arms makrsman, a hand-to-hand combat specialist, and also a camouflage expert, although he feels most comfortable in a desolate rocky terrain, or traversing the sun bleached dunes of a distant desert. He kept tabs on Ben Kenobi as one of his earliest assignments but was found wandering around Mos Espa after Ben had sensed him and used a Jedi mind trick to make him forget of his existence. Only a force user could have detected his presence and he was soon recruited into the Imperial Mando squad. having spent extensive time living in the Tatooine deserts he fashioned his armor after the native Tusken Raiders to some degree, borrowing their weapons and using a shred of their bandages. His heavily modified projectile EE-3 carbine has been fitted with the head of a Gaffi stick for a bayonet and the club end of a Gaffi stick for its stock. It is both a fierce melee weapon and a deadly accurate ranged rifle. He also carries twin modified sniper westar blasters with long range scopes added and augmented barrels. His Mitrinomon Z-6 jetpack has been retrofitted to also house an oxygen scrubber, waste recycler, and moisture vaporator apparatus that filters O2 from the atmosphere into potable drinking water. He has numerous pouches of supplies, tools, and rations, and several  blast-proof cases mounted on his shoulder armor containing spare ammo. Dust's helmet combines all 3 of his influences and features Tusken horns and a Sandtrooper helmet aerator, comlink, and audio receptors.  His Sandtrooper Environment armor has been retrofitted with a set of Mandalorian plate armor and he also wears a removable half vest of mando armor covering his shoulders and collar and back. He has modified mando bracers with flamer, rocket launcher, and hold-out lasers. Dust is there before you realize it and gone before you know what happened. A master of hiding in plain sight, he can take a hell of a wallop and doesn't go down easily.

So I did a bit of digging and I haven't seen any Imperial Mando mashups in the custom world yet so I'm again excited to be creating what might be a first!

Here's Bogey unpainted:

Thanks so much JMT! I've always had a very active imagination. There comes a very satisfying feeling from getting something from your imagination into the physical world! As I'm sure most customizers can relate. I'd have loved to enter one of these guys in the contest but I already entered with my Babe-a Fett custom. Oh well, there's always next time :)

Wow! Tusk/Imper/Mando looks awesome! Great triple mix and Bogey OMG where do you come up with this? It's totally revolutionary!

@JMT: Yeah the stormy Mando is definitely an appealing concept for sure! My first thoughts were in not ending up with a clone trooper, or a more sleek obvious look. I wanted unique and distinguishable mash-ups featuring all 3 character types equally. My only improvement I'd make would be that the stormy helmet I used was a cast (courtesy of Joe! Finally used one of those haha) and thus it wasn't Hasbro's official vinyl and reacted with the paint differently. Kind of absorbed it and didn't allow for reduction work to be done. I used the same technique on this figure (for the desert weathering) that I did on full sized Stormy costume for the 501st. I'm thinking of doing some sandtroopers with that weathering. If you attempt to make him be patient. There are a lot of pieces I used from random sources and even a few Joe parts. I can post some step by step recipes if you'd like or PM them to you. Glad you want to see more! I've got Codename: Frostbite up for painting tomorrow and will be working on my Codename: Gearbox build as well. I can also do a commission for you if you like, but will need parts.

@Orangepeace: Hey that's a high compliment indeed! Thank you! haha Bogey is one of the easier ones to create. While researching to see if people had already done this idea I stumbled upon a drawing of a mandalorian pilot that borrowed from both tie fighter pilots and rebel pilots and that inspired me to add the flight harness and the code cylinders.  I want to do a squad of 3 Tie Mando pilots altogether (build 2 others) wingmen for Bogey. Codenames: Six and 12 but instead of doing them in a black silver motif I want them to have an imperial gray with tie fighter black combo and black T visors. Honestly I came up with the ideas for this unit of Imperial Mando mash-ups while at work. Not exactly sure what sparked my thinking, but I wanted to blend the standard Imp troopers with mandos as close as possible. Taking each specific kind of trooper and building on their environment specific fucntions, i.e. sandtrooper=sandalorian, snowtrooper=Mandsnowlorian etc. Yes there is a Snowmando in the works! Thanks! I'm really flattered you think it's revolutionary! I can PM you the recipe or do a commission if you'd like.

@Kaleb: Thanks so much! It just kind of seemed so obvious after I hit upon the idea. "Wow... I bet someone has done this!" then finding they hadn't I set off in motion! Glad you like Bogey, he's certainly a favorite :)

Sweet someone has made some figure "uglies" Now I think we all know that term and I don't think these are ugly at all, but some great combinations. For the life of me I couldn't figure out if I liked the mando stormy or mando pilot the best, but am leaning towards the pilot. Clint made me a kind of helmet for my custom at-at driver, kind of like an evolutions project a few years ago that is close, but I like your mando main helmet with some tie pilots accesories. Top notch AFE and on the front page. I can see Clint seeing these and making some of his own and casting them.

You have now taken a bigger step into the customizing universe! All of these are crazy mashups that result into great figures. As others have said these are very creative and outside of the norm, just what I am into! Love your helmet combos on these. I really love the mini tank you have created! Greet eye for assembling components that look like they would work! That is also very creative and very well done. Finaly, I love reading your back story for all of your customs and these are super cool! Well done my friend!

@Tamer: I hadn't thought of the term "ugly" for these but you're right! They are essentially in the same vein as ugly fighters! I am a huge fan of ugly fighters so obviously this is awesome! Perhaps this is a new genre of customs? The pilot is very sleek with his black and silver colors and the Sotrmie is the opposite of sleek haha. It'd be really cool to have these casted! However I wonder about the materials and their reactions with paints. You're inspired me to make an alternate body for Bogey, an AT-AT driver body with the same ideas but a gray/white paint scheme. I'm thinking a white T visor on that one? I hope to see others get inspired by these and come up with new figures! That's just more of the fun of being part of a community! I also want to work on a regular stormie-non sandalorian trooper, but I fear that would be kind of boring lol. Thanks so much for the front page!

@Spry: Yes that's exactly how I feel! Yeah I have taken my love for kitbashing (creating figures out of existing parts without painting and gluing) and now creating fully painted customs! I have to say I'm very inspired and exited! You know I'm also into things outside of the norm and what better way to do that than some mash up star wars figures that feel like GI Joes with their individualities. Thanks Spry! The helmet always feels like the crowning element of a figure to me (assuming they wear a helmet). It's the piece that ties it all together and with mandos it's even more integral to the whole figure. The mini tank was originally supposed to be a treaded vehicle for the figures to ride, but that idea fell by the way side and I decided to make an unmanned drone tank. Like something from Terminator or from our modern military. Something you send in first to deal with heavy resistance and then follow in with live soldiers. I'm also glad you read the back stories, I kind of suspected most people would head straight to the photos which is fine, I think we're all guilty of that at times :)  Thank you again!
