I am going to start sending pics of old artwork of mine to Tamer to put in the Artwork Gallery.
These are just a few shots from a sketch book that I had while I was in college. i really like the stuff I did in High School better but this was the first sketchbook that i found. I will get to the other stuff later but needed to start somewhere. The stuff I did in HS was more conventional and here, in college, I had started to get more diverse. I dont consider this stuff to be really special but wanted to show em to you anyways.
-
I can tell that I am going to need to get some more light on this stuff.

cool, lots of abstract stuff. I like that one of the ship taking off and it's cloud of exhaust underneath it.
I guess I need to start a thread of some of my technical sketches...
-
i never formally enrolled and went to college....
but it looks like you might have been doing some of the same stuff there that i did when i wound up there in the dorms...
nice pics.
I too liked the ship sketch. and were those like cam/holo net droids? like the flying droids on The Blackhole almost with little changes.
Pretty cool lot.
-
Thanks guys. Like I said, that's barely scratching the surface of all of the stuff I have from the high school days.
No, those were more like a study of that one Cobra Vehicle that was a flying dome with guns. You remember the one Simon, or Devon?
-
the trouble bubble maybe?
-
I see you started a link to display some of your artwork. I really must say that is amazing! It's great to see other drawings besides my own in mass. Great job, Clint!
-
Thanks Dan. Seeing you put up your stuff inspired me to start putting up some of my stuff.
-
Great stuff Clonehead!
-
Thanks Sten! I found another sketchpad last night from slightly earlier and took some shots from it.
You can see my love of Metallica at the time as represented in three pics including a rendering of one of my favorite Pusshead designs.
I gotta get my scanner up and running again. These would turn out better if I did.

Just caught this thread. Really dig all of these, but I especially like the metal themed art.
Kinda has a trippy vibe goin on with the ones that particularly drew my attention. Hella cool art, Clint.
I really think it's cool that a person who has an occupation that normally personafies a badass, dabbles... No, excels at creativity. Keep on doin what you do. I dig the shizzle outta your creations.
Rock the hell on.
Barry

Thanks Barry! The creativity has always been an important part
Of my life. My dirty job
Mearly brings the
Bacon home.
I have alot more artsy stuff to post as I get around to it.
I do concurr with the trippy feel of some of that stuff. Earlier in life, it was more about sci fi and fantasy and less about trippy collages and left feild designs.

Well the artwork is awesome. Devin and I both have done drawings. Devin has many of his drawings posted on Deviant Art. I however only doodled girly stuff so I'm not posting mine. Mainly characters from Disney. LOL But Devin has a lot of awesome work. I havn't drawn a pic since I went to college 9 years ago. LOL
I wish now I had learned to draw men with guns and ships though instead of ponies and princesses. Then I would have something to talk about. LOL :-)
-
Ponies arn't easy to draw, Dawn. Sounds like you are as creative as Devin.
Thanks for your comments. I don't draw very much anymore. I haven't for 15 years. Just been too busy or my creative outlet switched to another medium. I used to draw every day as much as I could.
-
Great work, Clint! I'm trying to get my wife to start drawing again. Keke is a doodler, too - she keeps pesting me to get her a "how to draw manga" type book. ;D
Oh, and Cobra had the Flight Pod (aka "Trouble Bubble") and the Pogo. Reminds me... I had plans for one of those Pogos...
-
Cool deal, finally found this thread. Just awesome Clint, man you could have made a living being an artist just drawing. Nice work. I really like the collage ones with all the different images in em. I can't imagine how long it took to draw all that.
And folks, if you email me your drawing pics 800 pixel width I will create some art webpages for you so we can get that section going.
-
Ty buddy. I was wondering when you would find this thread.
I have alot more stuff to post when I get to it.
-
Clonehead,
It's great seeing your artwork, kid of lets us into a more personal side of who you are or where as a younger person.
I love the abstract pieces, they are like doodles gone mad, very trance like.
I really should dig out and scan the stuff I did as a kid as I've not done any drawing for years.
Great post and thanks for letting us into your darker side.
Jules
-
Darker younger side, I like that, Jules. I have a lot more of this stuff to show you. Mabey I can get some better looking shots this time.
-
I was digging around in my camera's memory for some pics I took today and found these shots that I had already posted in my customs thread of some concept designs of the at-ip that I still need to build for Tamer. My final design will differ from these but I was just getting a feel for it, here.
I may dig into my old art pile again, today, and see what I can come up with to post.
-
I took another dive into some of my older sketches and came up with some stuff to shoot. I really need to get my scanner running for these to turn out better.
Nothing spectacular here, just stuff that I used to doodle about on. you will notice several renderings of my first car's body which I was a bit attached to, it seems. It's a 70 olds Cuttlass, Wayne.

I did quite a few concept sketches of the Olds sitting on top of a Tank drivetrain. I believe I did a painting of this but I am not sure where it is.

there's that damn Oldsmobile body again.
-
Here are two shots of a small oil painting featuring, you guessed it, a different take on that Oldsmobile body.
-
Great pics Clint. You do stick to a theme don't you!
-
These are more recent than some of the stuff that I have been posting here as they are less than 5 years old. Most of these I have already posted in my custom figures thread somewhere.
All of these were done to troubleshoot color schemes or accessory designs for customs that I did.

Color me impressed, Clint. What else do you have up your everlasting sleeve?
Awesome art! You just keep upping the ante. I'm guessing that you would be an excellent Hold em player.
-
Indeed, I agree with R1, I'm most impressed. I love the colours as well.
-
I can' recall seeing that top one. Great work Clint. Love those camo paint apps you have.
-
Thank you fellers. Shawn, I may not have posted that top one or the wip pics of that old figure here yet. I will have to do that one of these days. I seem to remember you liking that figure.
I wish I had the time on my hands to draw like I used to but the other hobbies and what not get in the way.
-
I was at my mom's house last weekend and asked her if she had any of my artwork there. she pulled out a box that had alot of high school stuff in it and some of my college era drawings in it.
I will take some better shots of these outside if the sun ever comes out but these were done as weekly assignments for a drawing class i took in college. The first two were mixed media pieces using colored pencil and acrylic paint.
I took a couple of shots of that first one but am still not happy with the lighting.
-
These three are colored pencil only. It has been at least 15 years since I have even seen these.
remember that you can click on the pic to make it bigger. I still am not happy with the light in these shots.
-
Clint you have more talents then a circus Show!!! great art work mate.. let me guess is orange one of your fav colors? it's one of mine, i would love to have an orange light-saber....
-
Thanks Trev. Actually blue is my favrite color. I think I just liked how the orange looked on that colored paper.
-
so freaking awesome, Clint! love em'!
-
Very interesting artwork Clint, you must have been on an Egyptian phase at the time! (I wet through it as well)
-
Thanks dudes! At the time I did those last colored ones, I was also taking a design and an art history class and I'm sure that some of the elements that I was exposed to there had some influance to them.
-
you multi-talented bugger you!
-
These are astounding, Clint! Your talents seem endless at this point, man! Custom figures, resin casting, model making and drawing.... Maybe you should pick up............ sorry, couldn't think of anything else! LOL keep up the great work.
-
Thanks buddy! I used to play guitar, also.
I need to shoot some more pics of some more artwork that I found, if the sun ever comes out.
-
Clonehead my man me thinks we got more in common than you know I also draw paint and play the guitar got 10 of them.
-
Wow, 10? I think I only have 3, LOL
-
Clint, I've just looked at your images again and such short posts in reply really don't do them justice...
I really love the image with your custom on top of a piece of work, that should be framed as it is, it would make a great centrepiece.
I also love some of your more fantasy type paintings and drawings. Like Wraith said, you are multitalented, and I love what you have posted thgus far..
-
Thanks Jules! That one piece, with the snow clone, inspired a shadowbox diorama where on one side, that piece was framed behind glass but if you turned it around, it revealed the shadow box dio. Sold that one, years ago. The dio can be seen in the first few pages of my custom figures thread.
