Thanks! Finally got around to painting a few of those cargo crates up--they're really quite nice!
I'd be happy to hook you up with something to cast, if you like. Will PM you for the details.
-
I agree, these are fantastic! Off to share.
I really like the Lead Engineer with that data pad.
-
PM'd back - ::EXCITED::
-
excellent job on the Verpine i like them !!!
-
Nice customs. Did you do the heads yourself?
-
Great sculpting on those Verpine heads!
-
Glad these are so well received--the praise means a lot from this group of artists!
The heads were individually sculpted from Apoxie sculpt. Initially the antennae were as well, however, they tended to be a bit fragile. I redid the antennae and mouthparts in a flex Sculpey product to allow for some flexibility, and they seem to be holding up much better.
I should add that I was inspired by I-Am-Boba-Fett's Clone Wars-styled Verpine Jedi, but wanted to blend with Vintage Collection figures. He has this posted in his thread. It's worth checking out.
-
Great job on the Verpine team.
The head sculpt is fantastic.
-
The Verpine look amazing. You should consider casting those heads.
-
It's been a while since I posted, but I have had several projects simmering.

Thanks to Doc Outlands for the head cast!

Nice looking Verpine with scene. Off to the front page.
-
Verpine are my favourite. Great work.
-
Thanks for the front page!
OK, a non-verpine (gasp). WIP, my fully articulated AT-DP pilots. So far, a no-paint custom, just a bit of dremel work. Armor dremeling was made easier by the fact that the bodies on the new Rebels, Legends figures are a stiffer plastic, much like the old POTF2 figures. I still need to swap out the boots for Snowtrooper Commander boots, and repaint the boots and belt. Note the two-piece removable helmet.
(http://i1318.photobucket.com/albums/t655/jaeger451/AT-DP%20drivers%201-2_zpslvc5jlid.jpg) (http://s1318.photobucket.com/user/jaeger451/media/AT-DP%20drivers%201-2_zpslvc5jlid.jpg.html)

-
Wow, these are fantastic. Can you give the full recipe? How in the word did you trim that AT-DP Faceplate?! You must have some steady hands. Off to share.
-
Recipe is incredibly simple, just the AT-DP driver from the new Rebels series, with relevant bits trimmed off and dremeled out, and the K-Mart AT-ST driver from a few years back with the harness removed. Hollowed the gloves a bit to shorten the forearm, and drilled a small hole within to accept the peg that's already present on the forearms.
The removable faceplate happened almost by accident while dremeling the helmet, as the neck post socket/faceplate is actually an insert within the helmet (much like the head on Agent Kallus). Just takes a tiny bit of extra loosening once the helmet is dremeled, no cutting required.
The armor fit is a bit tight, but doable, with a bit of extra trimming on the arm holes of the backplate.
I wasn't crazy about the AT-DP driver's boots, as they seem more cartoony than the rest of the figure, and have no ankle articulation. I think it's acceptable as is, but boots from the snowtrooper/AT-AT driver of your choice are a bit more screen-accurate. Ball-jointed hips would be nice, though, enabling the driver to mount a speeder bike.
-
These are really well done .....Great job !
-
Those look amazing.
I went with a much more simplified approach on mine, not nearly as accurate as what you did.
-
Excellent work especially on the AT-DP drivers.
Ron
-
Love the Verpine harvester. Great concept; great execution. The AT-DP drivers look fantastic. I love that there was no painting required, but the dremel work must have been a hassle. The result, however, is really worth it.
-
Job superbly done!!

These look great. Love that diorama you have made too. Off to share.
-
Agree with Tamer, lover those building you made, very inspiring
-
That is great work. I love the big 70's Star Wars cheesy mustache(s). Everything is top notch!
-
Awesome corellians really like them and the cina-Rust droid is pretty cool too ;)
-
Thanks for the front page and comments! For health issues in the family, I'm occupied for a few days, but I have a few other projects to be posted soon!
-
The Corellians look great! I'm a fan of the Col Serra character to boot. The buildings are really good and the rusted droid turned out really well. Keep up the good work.

Ok, finally getting around to photographing a few projects.
First up, a trio of fresh recruits for the Endor Express.

Planning on printing a water slide decal for their shoulders. For those of you who Rit dye plastic, there is now a Rit for synthetic fabrics, locally available through Hobby Lobby, that works much better. Previously, I really struggled with blues.
-
Nice, time to go share some of this. Nice to see you back.
-
Thanks!
Next up, a trio from the cantina: Atheloe, Tawss Khaa, and Ownellco.
(http://i1318.photobucket.com/albums/t655/jaeger451/00C1ED5A-4C7B-46DA-AEAD-0470A032A70D_zpsbxt38usm.jpg) (http://s1318.photobucket.com/user/jaeger451/media/00C1ED5A-4C7B-46DA-AEAD-0470A032A70D_zpsbxt38usm.jpg.html)
Mosep's alter ego is, by now, a fairly well-known recipe; simply shave the topknot, fill, and repaint. The two Lutrillians use slightly modded head sculpts from I-Am-Boba-Fett, modded Willrow Hood torso and legs, Captain Antilles jacket, and Biggs Darklighter arms.
-
They looks great. Once again off to share.
-
Thanks! In retrospect, the heads on the Lutrillians may be a bit big for the bodies I chose, but I really like the paint job. If I get motivated, maybe I'll try a custom head sculpt someday.
Today's submission includes three of Jabba's goons: Mosep (Jabba's palace), Ak-rev, and an unnamed human sail barge gunner henceforth to be known as Russian Hat Guy.
(http://i1318.photobucket.com/albums/t655/jaeger451/D34927D1-74C0-466D-9A03-2E519D58A943_zpsmh8qxe5h.jpg) (http://s1318.photobucket.com/user/jaeger451/media/D34927D1-74C0-466D-9A03-2E519D58A943_zpsmh8qxe5h.jpg.html)
I've seen a number of bodies used for Mosep customs, but a careful review of footage reveals relatively squared off shoulders and persistent use of gauntlets. Thus I chose to use the Imperial Navy Commander body from earlier this year, along with the Marvel Universe Drax belt.
(http://i1318.photobucket.com/albums/t655/jaeger451/6D81AF8B-D59D-4C05-BAD2-0FA14FB154B2_zpsc816ugqi.jpg) (http://s1318.photobucket.com/user/jaeger451/media/6D81AF8B-D59D-4C05-BAD2-0FA14FB154B2_zpsc816ugqi.jpg.html)
For Ak-rev, I borrowed Luke Sprywalker's recipe, and simply swapped out his prepositioned legs for a Hoth Han Solo and repainted the boots, with a light was to bring out detail. Simple, but it takes a B- figure up to a solid A. Well worth the time. Finally, Russian Hat Guy uses the body of Jabba's Skiff Guard, detail trimmed and sanded, with head from the Yavin Rebel trooper and a custom sculpted furry hat and wash. Happy Holidays!
-
Nice. Off to share yet again.
-
Wow! There's some great customs here. I can't believe I've never left a comment here before. You do great work.
That Wampa throw rug is inspired.
I really like your updated Ak-rev and Russian hat guy (a.k.a. The unidentifiable man in green as per Wookiepedia). Did you sculpt the hat yourself or is that a GI Joe kit-bash?
So I double-clicked one of your pics and linked to your photobucket library. Sorry. It was an accident, but once I got in, I had to look around. When are we going to see that awesome droid?
-
Nice. Off to share yet again.
I have almost never replied to a post on this forum before, but I have to say, these look great. And next to that Prince of Persia Gate Set....it really makes the grade.
-
Some really good updates ! keep them coming !
-
Thanks, everyone! Sjefke, the hat is a custom sculpt with Aves Fixit. Hope to post the droid shortly; I hate to overwhelm everyone with my verpine obsession. ???? Good eyes on the gate, Blue_jedi, it is Prince of Persia. I've been looking for a use for it for a few years now. Happy Holidays!

J12 Heavy Construction Droid
The Roche Collective had high hopes for their first attempt at a protocol droid, the poorly named J9 worker droid. When dismal sales figures failed to meet initial projections, The Collective was faced with a daunting task: salvage the floundering robotics division from financial ruin.
Roche engineers discovered they had one key advantage. The massive inventory on unsold J9s meant an abundant supply of advanced Arjan II logic processors. After a few initial false starts, the Roche design team realized its speed and memory could be retasked to the schematics, logistics, and implementation of spacecraft and platform design.
For a power core, engineers paired this with the BPR-99 fusion reactor, and mounted it on a multilegged chassis for stability in zero-grav and hostile environments. Bilateral hard-mounted arc welders and a customizable tool system including a plasma cutter/incinerator and power demolition claw complete the package.
Presenting... The J12 Heavy Construction Droid

Very nice. Time to go share this!
-
What a great set of updates. The Prince of Persia gate works really well. I like how your Mosep turned out. But I must say brilliant job combining parts - I love the use of Skovox Blitzer's legs!
-
This is such a cool droid. I love the bronze finish. The patina is sublime.
-
Very cool droid
-
Absolutely love those Verpines!
Also very curious how you constructed the Wampa rug? Very interested in perhaps giving it a shot myself for my figure collection.. reminds me of the think geek rugs they sell haha.
Cheers
-NuteGunray
-
Thanks for the positive comments! Just got back after being out of town for a bit. Starchaser--good call, I've been looking for an excuse to use that gate for a while. ViceroyGunray, the Wampa rug was merely a fake fur cutout with a matching felt cutout for facing. I cut a small hole for the face, and custom sculpted the face, horns, claws, and footpads out of Sculpey.
-
I also wanted to note your picture taking is phenomenal too. Very clear and bright images.
-
Wow, time flies!
I've been on a bit of an RotJ kick lately, and, hopefully over the next few weeks I'll have a bit more to update. I managed to get ahold of one of the Figureworks Jabba's Rotisseries, and, though it pained me to drill into it, I couldn't help lighting it up. I drilled two small holes, vivisected a couple of Halloween tea lights, and added harvested Schleich flames and model railroad ballast for charcoal. I also painted up a few accessories.

I'm pretty happy with how Fozec turned out, particularly the helmet. Head is Willrow Hood (did anyone ever ID the actor?), torso is Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S., and pants are Indiana Jones, with sculpted details. Strappage is Cricut Vinyl (really useful!).

Nothing special about the Jawa, other than his scratch built accessory; he just fills out the scene.
-
Great to see you back with awesome new work! Time to share this to the front pages!
-
Great work on the latest works and the BBQ looks awesome.
Ron
-
Outstanding work on the grill. How did you do the inlay?
I love Fozec too.
-
Nice! Makes me hungry for barbecue! Is Willrow Hood's tubby body laying in a fodder bin somewhere?
-
Nice job! The rotisserie looks really good and the lights are great. I think your Fozec is spot on!
-
Thanks for the front page and the positive feedback! Come to think of it, I need to add some meat to the spit, and barbecue does sound good!
The inlay is all Figureworks' superior design, 3d printed. I can't take credit for that, just added a few details to light up the coals and add the baster.
Willrow's body was already used for Solomahal. Sorry! ;)
More to come!

Love that Rotisserie, Grilled Ronto meat anyone?

These guys have to be two of the smartest guys on the sail barge. They take one look at Luke massacring the rest of the crew, and say screw this, we're outta here! Both figures rely on ground broken by Jabbaspalacespy.
Klaatu (played by Corey Dee Williams) is made from the torso, apron, and waist of the PotF 5poa Klaatu, custom cast Wooof head and hands, Bom Vimdim arms, and legs from an Indiana Jones Temple Guard, with custom sculpted bits. FHG (not sure, maybe Larry Holt?) is made from the legs of TBS Lando, the torso of TFA 5poa Han Solo, arms from RotS Obi Wan, and Cricut Vinyl strappage. Both have removable headgear with soft goods drapes.
(http://i1318.photobucket.com/albums/t655/jaeger451/787C1257-BB80-4765-BCDB-AA1BC1DD3138_zpsottn4iac.jpg) (http://s1318.photobucket.com/user/jaeger451/media/787C1257-BB80-4765-BCDB-AA1BC1DD3138_zpsottn4iac.jpg.html)
These are some of the first figures that I've converted a 5poa torso to SA, dremeling out the sockets and using hot glue to set the shoulder joints, detailed here by another customizer. Seems like a technique that will be useful in the future. Klaatu is the first time I've used superglue to protect paint on ball joints, and it is holding up so far. He's also the first time I've personally cast head and hands for a figure. Always good to try out something new!
-
These look great! Nice job with the conversion. I really like how the soft goods "drapes" work on the headgear.
-
Pretty awesome if you ask me. Off to share.
-
Great job on both of these characters !

I've always called him by his Wookieepedia name, The Unidentified Man in Red Pants. ;D
They're both over the top good. I love always love seeing new goons from Jabba's palace.
Superarticulating is a lot of work and you've really pulled it off. Your finishing work is also stunning.
Casting parts really save on the fodder.
Can't wait to see more
Do you have a link for jabbaspalacespy?
-
Excellent, use of parts! Awesome , Awesome !
-
This is why I love this hobby so much it's the small things like this that really adds to a figure awesome work mate.

-
Thanks, everyone! Jabbaspalacespy was active a few years ago on rebelscum, and he put out a number of very nice Jabba's palace customs. I'm not sure if he ever posted here. As his customs are individually posted (and I don't have a lot of other info), I don't have a single overarching thread, but his Klaatu custom can be seen here:
http://forum.rebelscum.com/showthread.php?t=1107544
If you search Google images for a named character from the palace and the term "custom", you can turn up quite a bit of his work (recognizable by the background).

i
I googled him and found out that he writes for the fansite Future of Star Wars
https://futureofstarwars.wordpress.com/tag/jabbaspalacespy/
I did not know he had featured one of my customs.
Pure coincidence. I swear!
BTW, What head did you use for the unidentified man?
-
BTW, What head did you use for the unidentified man?
Captain Antilles. Not a perfect facial match, but the expression fits, and I had a couple left over whose vests I scavenged for cantina customs.
-
Two more figures, and a little bonus accessory:
(http://i1318.photobucket.com/albums/t655/jaeger451/B8E5F8EB-432F-4C58-B952-34BF2052E961_zpse0emeogb.jpg) (http://s1318.photobucket.com/user/jaeger451/media/B8E5F8EB-432F-4C58-B952-34BF2052E961_zpse0emeogb.jpg.html)
The Weequay Marksman was pretty hardcore--after Luke threw him out a window towards the Sarlacc, he somehow made it back onto the Khetanna, and back to the top deck, only to meet his demise there. The guy deserves some props for perseverance, if nothing else. My version (inspired by LukeSprywalker's marvelous figure) is based largely on the VC Quinlan Vos body. Arms are from Bom Vimdim, head and hands are Weequay (Skiff Master), vest is Indiana Jones Sallah, and softgoods are custom.
Barada was itching to be done! Chest and arms are VC Rebel Commando, legs are Bom Vimdim, and head, bandolier, skirt, and boots are Kithaba. Belt pouch was cast from Weequay (Skiff Master), and backpack was cast from the POTF2 Barada and strapped on with Cricut vinyl. Neck peg was swapped, and collar and neckline were sculpted in Fixit Sculpt. In retrospect, attaching Kithaba's boots to Bom's lower legs was a bit tricky--not much room to peg them together without affecting articulation.
As an added bonus, I painted up a MicroMachines rancor, and mounted it on a pedestal that came with the urn accessory used with the rotisserie. This was supposed to be the rancor statue barely visible in Jabba's chamber on the Khetanna. I've since learned of a behind-the-scenes Polaroid showing this was actually a wall-mounted gargoyle. For now, though, I like it as is.
-
Sweet! Really nice job on these. I would love to get a look at the backpack you cast for Barada. Your parts combinations on these figures worked really well. Kudos!
-
They look great to me, off to share.
-
Great looking figures and love the rotisserie! Where did you get that awesome fruit bowl? I need one!
-
Where did you get that awesome fruit bowl? I need one!
It's ([cough] dollhouse) urn made by Falcon Miniatures. I cut off the base with a razor saw and superglued on a couple of beads for legs. If you search eBay for "dollhouse urn", you should turn up a few vendors. Under $10. The pumpkin was a dollhouse item from Hobby Lobby.

well done on the two new additions ! look forward to seeing whats next!
-
Awesome! and I confess, I own several pieces of what we will cal DHF. lol Thanks man.
-
the Weequay looks like a great addition to Jabba's court or Hondo's pirate crew. LOVE that custom!
-
Thanks again for all the kind comments, and the front page. Sprywalker, I have to say, you've done some really outstanding work, making it much easier to sort through the parts choices for the customs for this project!
Starchaser, didn't mean to neglect your request. The backpack is pretty dark, so here's a second cast that shows up a bit better.
(http://i1318.photobucket.com/albums/t655/jaeger451/CAC5C85C-2A7D-485D-8A2A-B5F54F01FECF_zps1kflgike.jpg) (http://s1318.photobucket.com/user/jaeger451/media/CAC5C85C-2A7D-485D-8A2A-B5F54F01FECF_zps1kflgike.jpg.html)

A bit of a break from my Jabba's Palace spree. I was a bit saddened that Funko never made a generic Gremlin figure; I think that, for ReAction figures, they blend pretty well with Star Wars, in spite of the 5poa. So, taking matters into my own hands, I stripped the mohawk off Stripe, filled and textured the gaps in the back of the head, and, after boiling and popping, recast the entire figure. Then it was time for a whole body repaint.
As the first fully articulated cast I've attempted, I'm pretty happy with the result! I may have to repaint a Stripe to match. Rest assured, if Funko ever revisits Gremlins and produces a generic Gremlin, I'll be more than happy to army build that instead.
-
Brilliant! Happy Halloween to you too.

Wow, that looks great. Off to share. And Happy Halloween!

And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming...
(http://i1318.photobucket.com/albums/t655/jaeger451/147240B8-7ABE-4090-B44C-8337E742006A_zpszsy5mrw2.jpg) (http://s1318.photobucket.com/user/jaeger451/media/147240B8-7ABE-4090-B44C-8337E742006A_zpszsy5mrw2.jpg.html)
Imperial medical technicians from the ISV Argos are working around the clock to resuscitate our patient. Due to his alien physiology, the outcome is far from clear.
Several months back, Sjefke was kind enough to trade me for a pair of head casts from his incredible custom of Cane Adiss. Normally, I wouldn't share a custom this early in the process, but after much consideration as to parts, I had a bit of luck. Sjefke had to put quite a bit of work into customizing the necks. Shortly before Halloween, I discovered the large, skeletal standing rats from the series of skeletal animals populating the Halloween sections of our big box stores (these were from Joann Fabrics). I realized that a pair of the tails, complete with bending wire, though a little narrow, would make great necks. As these are likely being clearanced out as I type, I thought it wound be helpful to share this before they are gone in case anyone else wishes to attempt this character. Good luck!
(http://i1318.photobucket.com/albums/t655/jaeger451/B970FBAB-4883-41F4-B05B-CB78AE956F93_zpstjjff3qs.jpg) (http://s1318.photobucket.com/user/jaeger451/media/B970FBAB-4883-41F4-B05B-CB78AE956F93_zpstjjff3qs.jpg.html)
-
That Gremlin figure is awesome, i didnt know anyone made them. And the Cane Adiss is going to be awesome too. The rat tail seems like it would be great for a lot of different creatures.
-
The rat tails are a great idea! I love the lab set up too - brilliant. Now I'm feeling the need to customize a Bith bioengineer/doctor :-)
-
I finally find some time to get in and see new postings and then photobucket is down. No wonder there are broken images all over the place this morning. I will get this on the front page when PB gets it act back together and I can see the images.
-
I am finally able to see the images. This is a great idea and a great start to a custom. Off to share.
-
Can't wait to see the WIPs and the final product.
I'm finally settled in my new place and hope to return you loaners soon (thanks for your patience on that)
-
Thanks for the front page! JDeck, Starchaser, thanks. The Bith scientist is part of a larger, much longer term project, that I'm slowly accruing bits and pieces for.
Sjefke, congrats on the new place! No worries on the time frame. I've been dragging my feet on getting these done. Still not sure if I'm going to get to add articulation, but I'll be happy to see them added to the lineup. As an aside, that little IV bag held by 2-1B is a cool little accessory. I picked it up with a GI Joe Lifeline at retail. Just looked at picking up another? Holy cow, that price went up on the secondary market!
-
And now.... PIGS IN SPACE!!!!

Sort of "me, too" customs (I'll have a few of these), but needed additions to Jabba's ranks.
Yoxgit is a TLC Ugnaught, with the waist peg shortened and pockets flaps resculpted and hips widened with Fixit. Dyed and painted. The head is a cast of the alternate ugnaught head, with some additional sculpting on the hair. Gloves are from an AT-ST driver.
My version of Shasa Tiel is based around the body of Talon Karrde, with vest and arms of Celebration Luke, head and hands of the POTF2 Ishi Tibb, upper boots from a pair of Ellorrs Madak figures, feet from the bin, and belt from Black Widow. He really does have some crazy boots.
I've seen them both done a few times before; these were probably most inspired by Darth Daddy. Thanks for checking them out!
-
Cool customs. I like to see ugnaught customs, and great job on the clothes. I also like the ishi tibb, they are a really neat alien, and potf2 sculpt was pretty good. Nice to see articulated variations of them.
-
Thanks!
-
They look good on our front pages!
-
Great job especially on Yoxgit !
-
More figure goodness, great work mate.
Ron
-
Great update. I particularly like how the Ishi Tib turned out.

Thanks!
Up next: Taym Dren-Garen and Nizuc Bek
(http://i1318.photobucket.com/albums/t655/jaeger451/870DC34C-EF3A-41F0-A2F4-FECA7AF5BAB3_zpsziy91zyf.jpg) (http://s1318.photobucket.com/user/jaeger451/media/870DC34C-EF3A-41F0-A2F4-FECA7AF5BAB3_zpsziy91zyf.jpg.html)
Taym Dren-Garen, played by actor and stuntman Larry Holt, appears to be Jabba's barbecue chef. He also courageously stood up to Luke Skywalker, shooting his robot hand before suffering defeat. He is built from an Indiana Jones Russian Soldier, with a TBS Imperial Officer head, cast Lando helmet, VC Nikto Skiff Guard arms (Dremeled), and custom soft goods. I sculpted his catcher's vest from a flexible Sculpey product to leave some give for articulation.
Nizuc Bek (actor unknown) is best noted for losing his blaster to Luke shortly before Luke fell into the rancor pit. Head is from Cassian Andor, torso is Captain Typho, arms are from Thor: The Dark World, skirt is from the IJ Russian Soldier, and legs are TBS Vizam. Helmet is a custom cast modded from a Naboo trooper helmet with custom soft goods. His quilted jacket is sculpted from Fixit for the torso (due to melting temperature for the harder plastic) and flexible Sculpey for the skirt.

If/when Hasbro releases TBS Cassian Andor, I may revisit the legs for improved accuracy. The shoulder width could also be a bit better, and if I can stomach it, I might try to Dremel the shoulder joints out a bit further at risk to the sculpt.
-
Awesome work on Jabba's goons. The Taym dren-garen is really great, I wonder why Hasbro naver made him.
-
Thanks! Yeah, I think he turned out a bit better. IIRC, Taym Dren-Garen won at least one of the late fans' choice polls on Rebelscum, but with the way Hasbro is operating these days, I doubt we'll ever see him, as a relatively minor background human, in TBS. I'm still holding out a bit of hope for Vedain.
As far as inspiration, Jabbaspalacespy and I-Am-Boba-Fett made pretty nice versions of both these characters, and StarAlien70 also made a very nice Nizuc Bek and inspired the arm choice.
-
I like the look of these two new ones as well. Off to share the latest.
-
More great additional here! Nice attention to detail!
-
great work ! i like them both. i remember Jabbaspalacespy's updates as well and he had some great customs . I did these two plus most of the other goons and skiff guards some time ago and i was very happy with how they turned out . Feel free to check them out in my earlier posts.
-
Thanks! Mrjedi1977, just looked back through your thread; I hadn't seen your version previously, very nice! There was a lot I had missed in there. I forgot how much I had liked your Bantha droid and articulated Momaw Nadon. I think I still have raw materials around somewhere.... 🤔
-

Hey thanks a bunch my friend I actually plan down the road to do a second version of a bantha droid .

Two skiff guards, neither even honored by a name. So sad.

Unidentified Mercenary Pilot.
Actor unknown. Body is the K-Mart Two-Pack Exclusive AT-ST Driver, head is General Zod from Man of Steel, and the helmet an webbing is from GI Joe Retaliation Cobra Trooper. Gloves are cast from Bom Vimdin. Additional details sculpted in Apoxie Sculpt, with Cricut vinyl detailing. I'd love to find a 1:18 1980s style hockey helmet that would work for this. This custom sat for several months until I could find the right hole punch for helmet detailing.
Unidentified Shirtless Skiff Guard
Played by Larry Holt. Fozec's best friend, apparently; identical armor. This guy's fall is out of sequence, mixed with Velken Tezeri's defeat. It also appears that he's running to the back of the second skiff to throw himself to the Sarlacc rather than meet his fate at Luke's lightsaber! Under that helmet is the head of the blond Endor trooper, the closest sculpt I could find to Mr. Holt that fit the helmet. Torso and arms are Boss Fight Studios' Vitruvian Blanks "Champagne Beige." Armor bits are cast from Lando (from whom the skirt also comes), with Apoxie, Cricut vinyl, and soft goods details. Legs are Indiana Jones. I constructed much of the figure concurrently with Fozec, but it was put on hold until the torso came back into stock.
Thanks for looking!
-
Nice work and great background on these characters. Off to share!
-
Great job ! You got to love those Boss Fight Studios' Vitruvian Blanks . Great detective work on the back round of the character . Plus a fantastic job on the helmet for the mercenary guy ! Well done
-
Thanks! I really like the sculpts and articulation on Vitruvian Blanks. The scale is very slightly larger (think GI Joe), but still workable for larger characters.
-
Nice job on the last two (!) updates. Jabba will have a full skiff entourage, finally.
-
Chipping away slowly at the complement of Skiff Guards.
Vedain and Gailid:

Vedain, played by Paul Weston.
I used Vizam's head and hands, due to the lighter coloration. Arms, hat, and feet are from the VC Nikto Skiff Guard, as is the belt piece; hat and belt are both modified a bit. Holster is cast from that of Sandstorm Lando. Chest is from the VC Rebel Commando. Legs are from the VC Weequay figure. I cast the wrist guards from Giran, and the backpack from POTF2 Barbara, and dyed the torso parts to varying degrees in Synthetic RIT Sandstone. Collar is Cricut vinyl. One of my favorites so far among the Skiff Guard customs.
Gailid, played by Billy Horrigan.
Gailid's body was Pax Bonkik, although Greedo would work just as well. Head is from the Rebel Technician, with added sculpting and soft goods, and Jango Fett's comm gear. Hands and neck are from the parts bin. Boots are from VC Phantom Menace Obi Wan. Belt is from Celebration Luke, with another holster cast from Lando. Although it may be difficult to see in the picture, I gave it a metallic green wash to try to imitate the fabric sheen. Had a heck of a time with the superglue joint rub protection on this figure; kept gluing the joints! Grrr. Finally got them all loose, but it wasn't pleasant.
Baga the Bordok (Realistic version.)

Really simple custom. My kids all seem to relate to the Ewoks EU material, especially enjoying a series of customs modified and cast from baby Nippet that we've decorated together. (Thanks to Sjefke for the idea, btw. He's got a really great series of these.) I found what appears to be an Icelandic pony in the Target Terra series that set me back less than $4, and, as I needed to get the creative juices going, decided they need a Baga. I split the hooves with an Xacto knife, added horns and a mane extension out of Fixit Sculpt, touched up the paint, and added a wash. Super fast, cheap, and fits nicely.
Thanks for checking these out!
-
Time to load both of these up to the front page with more comments.
-
Thanks for the front page!
-
Baga the bordok looks great. Kneesa seems to like it too ;) man i love the ewoks
-
Great job once again and i especially enjoyed how much in depth you went into on what you did for the skiff guards . love the wrist guards on Vedain ! Just fantastic !
-
Nice Ewok customs, that miniature horse reminds me of that commercial where they sing "little man" by Sonnie and Cher
-
Thanks for the encouragement! I've got a few more Ewoks projects in the works. The wrist guards were a simple push mold in silicone putty, nothing fancy, but thanks!

Continuing with more realistic versions of Ewoks from the animated series--Teebo and Latara.
(http://i1318.photobucket.com/albums/t655/jaeger451/8D042DA7-A406-4AED-89CA-A64197285A80_zpswbezvywf.jpg) (http://s1318.photobucket.com/user/jaeger451/media/8D042DA7-A406-4AED-89CA-A64197285A80_zpswbezvywf.jpg.html)
Both are based on their season one appearance.
Teebo uses Kneesaa's body and Nho'apakk's head, and a modified hood cast from Zartan. Details sculpted in Sculpey Bake & Bend. Latara is a Kneesaa repaint, with Tippet's hood, Sculpey Bake & Bend details, and custom necklace.
Group shot of Ewoks Animated Series main cast:

Brings me back to the good ole days I used to get up to watch this show. Great work and off to share.
-
Thanks! It's hard to believe that it's been over 30 years. They're still available on YouTube, and bootleg DVD, if anyone else has kids to share with, or just wants to relive the glory days.
-
Amazing Love these Ewoks they fit perfectly with the other two! wow!!!
-
Thanks! I'm honored to hear such kind words from one of the masters of the art form! I've been admiring your distinctive style for a long time.
-
Great set of updates! I like how Gailid turned out. The Ewoks are excellent (Latara is a good addition to the tribe). But hands down Baga takes the cake. If imitation is the sincerest form of compliment, I will be giving you a serious compliment:)
-
Thanks, Starchaser! Glad to share recipes!
A few Ewoks customs I've been meaning to photograph for a bit.
Kaink
(http://i1318.photobucket.com/albums/t655/jaeger451/FBC38C6E-E424-435F-979E-704C454A98D6_zps1cundf3f.jpg) (http://s1318.photobucket.com/user/jaeger451/media/FBC38C6E-E424-435F-979E-704C454A98D6_zps1cundf3f.jpg.html)

Kaink is an Ewok priestess/medicine woman in Ewoks: Caravan of Courage. Like a few others, I wasn't particularly enamored of the hood Disney made for her Star Tours figure, so I made my own, and added her feathers and charms.
King Gorneesh (realistic sculpt)
(http://i1318.photobucket.com/albums/t655/jaeger451/F5EB1BE8-31DB-41FF-B069-FA325E709EC5_zpsygl2ck2c.jpg) (http://s1318.photobucket.com/user/jaeger451/media/F5EB1BE8-31DB-41FF-B069-FA325E709EC5_zpsygl2ck2c.jpg.html)
King Gorneesh leads the Duloks in the Ewoks Animated Series. I ran across another King Gorneesh on the web and thought I'd give it a try myself. Based around a Mezco Bigfoot figure, with snapping turtle shell armor, cast skulls and spine, and sculpted details.
Pulga

The Pulga is a large sort of Ewok horse in Ewoks: Caravan of Courage. Sort of a walking Ewok hut. I bought a hollow paper mache ball and drilled and dremeled until it fit on the back of a Clydesdale, and added soft goods and the like to create a mobile home fit for a Towani.
Hope you enjoy them!
-
Excellent, love the photo , it adds a little realism to the story.
-
These look great. Off to share the latest.
-
I really like the realistic version of King Gorneesh . Keep the fur balls coming !
-
Awesome Ewoks characters! Kaink looks so much better than the Disney figure. The horse carriage, caravan I guess, looks fantastic. Nice to know people still remember the Ewoks movies and cartoon.

My cohort of Rogue One Customs:
Jyn Erso
(https://i.imgur.com/fs9ewlJ.jpg)
I had planned on articulating an Imperial Ground Crew figure from the time of the 5POA figure's release, and, after I got started, lucked into a Jyn Erso (disguise) figure whose helmet I could swipe. Upper arms and legs are from Bane Malar, forearms are from Imperial Scanning Crew, and head and hands are from TBS Jyn Erso. Carefully transplanted the knee pads and shoulder cogs from the original figure. Color evened out with RIT dye and some judicious paint application.
Group shot of the infiltration team. Thanks to Darth Daddy for the Cassian Andor/Captain Needa head swap recipe. I still need to update his rank badge.
Chirrut Imwe, Baze Malbus, and Bodhi Rook
(https://i.imgur.com/apx9Qk8.jpg)
Chirrut uses his original 5poa dremeled-out torso, as well as head and accessories. Legs are Darth Maul. Arms are Clone Wars Dooku. Soft goods are custom sewn. Thanks to Colin Hobbs and Darth Daddy for the recipe!
Baze also uses his dremeled-out torso, head, and accessories. Arms and feet are from Bom Vindim, Legs are from Colonel Cracken. I also extended the pant legs a bit with Fixit. Recipe credit to Colin Hobbs.
Bodhi is almost entirely a RIT dyed Scanning Crew figure, with lower legs from Indiana Jones Mutt Williams and the original Bodhi Rook 5poa head and accessories. Recipe from Lance_Quazar on Rebelscum.
Special thanks to GTP for the Spacewalls and Hole in the Ground for the command station. Thanks for looking!
-
Wow very nice. Thanks for including most of the recipes. Off to share in all the right places.
-
Thanks! Most of the recipes are second-hand, but I haven't seen anyone do the Jyn Erso articulation before, and Bane Malar is just the right size for this.
Need to go back and transfer all those Photobucket images. Grr....
-
Chirrut Imwe, Baze Malbus, and Bodhi Rook are Fantastic, really nice work with the added articulations
-
All of this are fantastic, second string, I do t think so!!! Excellent my friend!
-
Wow, I can't stop looking at all these great customs! Excellent work on the super-articulation right there! Chirrut Îmwe and Baze Malbus are my favorites and I hope to see them in TVC next year! I refuse to buy the 5POA versions, but it's amazing to see how you turned their parts into these SA Customs! By the way your sewing skills are fantastic! Thanks for sharing!
P.S.:
"Need to go back and transfer all those Photobucket images. Grr...."
Yes, I know know how you feel...I also had to upload slightly over 500 pictures to imgur and replace all the links on here...it was extremely frustrating first, but it actually worked quite well!
So don't worry too much. Let's make the best out of it! ;) Fortunately I could still identify each image by the URL. This is not possible with imgur's URLs, so hopefully imgur will not do the same as Photobucket. By the way I wrote to Photobucket's service and made my opinion about their add and 3rd party policy very clear. I then deleted my account. I haven't received an answer from them for 6 weeks now...
-
Loving those Rogue One customs. It's nice seeing the whole crew in their superarticulated glory!
-
What a great Rogue One update! Your work articulating these figures is excellent - seamless, even. Keep up the outstanding work.
-
Outstanding work, my friend! Applauds!

It's been a while--again! Finally got around to photographing some of the projects I've been working on.
Rennek
(https://i.imgur.com/2vbZTg6.jpg)
Rennek is a background character from Jabba's Palace and sports what must be the greatest bathrobe in all of Star Wars. After several years of looking, I finally found pictures of the garments he wears under the robe, an air-cooled RAF flight suit. It turns out this also makes an appearance in Cloud City, Alien, and even a British music video. I've never seen the name of the actor on this one, but I'm all ears. Soft goods were custom sewn, and decorated with cast settings and seed beads. The torso and thighs were built up with Apoxie and carefully placed fishing line and resin cast. Tubing is from the Mon Calamari pilot. The current head is fom Boss Fight Studio, pending an upcoming custom head sculpt from Stan.
J'Quille
(https://i.imgur.com/2laFnOZ.jpg)
J'Quille was a whipid serving in both Jabba's Palace and on his Sail Barge, and was portrayed by mime artist Tim Dry. Hasbro made a version of J'Quille quite a few years back, but, in spite of an impressive head sculpt, it suffered some limitations. The Hasbro version was undersized, came off as blocky, and lacked modern articulation. Thankfully, there's a fix. Merumeru from the Black Series sports a great hairy articulated body. Unless you want to do a great deal of sculpting, get two and use the left forearm for both. I sculpted on a belt and a bit of additional fur, shortened the legs a bit, sculpted and cast some clawed feet, and recast the original J'Quille's head and pouches. While not entirely film accurate, I used some hands cast from K'kruhk (also a whipid), but you could easily mod the original claws as an alternative.
Pucumir Thryss
(https://i.imgur.com/ga9pUT1.jpg)
Pucumir (or "Pookie" as we have affectionately but respectfully nicknamed him) is the Rancor's biggest fan. He can be found excitedly cheering when Luke is about to be eaten. Again, I have no idea who the actor was, but I'd love to find out. This custom may look familiar; it was a collaboration with Stan. Stan was kind enough to supply a head cast, and, once I figured out the patterns for the soft goods, he was actually quite simple. His cape was adapted from that of Pruneface, lengthened and devoid of its hood. Base figure is a Boss Fight Studio blank, and buckles were obtained from the Boss Fight baldric that comes with a number of their Greek figures (kudos to whoever sculpted this bit!).
-
Jaeger, when I saw you online I was happily surprised, but I did not expect you to post this triple excellence!
It's awesome to see you back!
And looking at your three custom figures my jaw unhinged and hit the desk - once again!!
Let me try to put all pieces together:
Rennek
Is a very interesting character to me and looking great in his costume! He is wearing the BEST softgoods I've EVER seen on a 1/18 scale figure so far! I'm absolutely amazed by this coat! :o
You did an incredible job on the crafting and the research!
J'Quille
I'm going to repaint a Wookie completely with the dry-brush technique and if it will look only haf as good as your J'Quille looks, I'll be more than happy!
He looks excellent! I really like the paint apps on the headsculpt and the bags on his belt!
It's amazing how much you know about all the making-of and stories of all these background characters.
Pucumir Thryss
First of: I'm stunned by the texture of the fabrics you used for his robes! At further glance I was absolutely amazed by his headsculpt and how well it is painted! This is a fantastic looking head, dude. I'm always puzzled how artsits like you manage to achieve such realistic-looking paintjobs!
Also the buckles look great!
And I'm amazed by the quality of your pictures! The resolution is incredibly high! I work with a Canon EOS 600D. May I ask which camera you use to take such sharp pictures?
Fantastic job as always! It's always amazing to see your projects on here! I really enjoy your work of art and am impressed by your knowledge and skills!
- Philipp
-
Wow those are amazing. Woul pay good money for those! The Rennek figure is exquisite
-
Thanks! Pictures are actually just shot on my iPhone 6, with a $59 portable photo studio I picked up on Amazon. I think I need a lint roller, though.
Regarding the paint job on J'Quille, it was actually my first time playing with an airbrush. Not nearly as challenging as I thought it would be. I just hit the edges of the joints and some fur patterns with a lighter color, then applied a brown wash from Vallejo. I'm sure your Wookiee will come out great!
Chukha-Trok
(https://i.imgur.com/Am4F3Hd.jpg)
Chukha-Trok was a valiant Ewok woodsman from Caravan of Courage. This one was a long time coming; his hood was the subject of a pinch mold tutorial I posted a ways back. The base figure is Logray, with his stripes stripped off and repainted. The jaw is cast from a Pose Skeleton dog, the skull is cast from GI Joe Kwinn's necklace, and the armor bit is from a knock-off Tauren Shaman. I modded and recast the pouch from Kneesa, and sculpted and cast a custom sculpted sheath for his knife.
-
Brilliant work on these figures (and nice to see you back). I really like your J'Quille. Using the Merumeru body is an excellent idea. And kudos on your soft goods work - it's most outstanding.
-
First, they're ALL fantastic. Rennek, though - It's understated, but the detail work on the body and the soft goods make this the best custom I've seen. Amazing, and it'll get even better with the new head.
-
Wow, those are fantastic! I mean, wow!
Off to share.
-
WOW. I don’t even know what to say!!!! Perfection.
-
Gorgeous customs! I wish I had them in my personal collection. Love the attention to detail!
-
Thanks! You guys are great! Slowly getting pictures taken of last year's labors.
I spent a good chunk of last summer on a break from Star Wars customs. Hiya has slowly been working on an APC, that's finally beginning to trickle into the States (fingers crossed), as well as Predators. I LOVED what NECA did with their Predator Throne of Bones, but of course it's the wrong scale. Challenge accepted!

Multiple skull shrinks and over 40 resin casts later, I was able to assemble this beast. Really happy with how it turned out, and, I picked up a new skill in the process! Most of the original skulls were designed for the Predator trophy wall; the real kudos go to the artists at NECA who designed them. At some point, a Predator throne room diorama is on my to do list.
-
Wow, now that just leaves me speechless. Let me try to get some coherent thoughts on the front pages.
-
That is really stunning! Great job and what a testament to patience.
-
The bone throne is a breathtaking maserpiece.
I can't imagine how much work and patience you put into it.
I'm really looking forward to see your throne room dio.
-
Just INCONCEIVABLY good! Your work makes me speechless.
-
You work hard on the Amazing custom and time and effort has paid off, speechless x 3000

Unnamed H’nemthe—Jabba’s Palace
(https://i.imgur.com/NdLXBMl.jpg)
I was never really happy with commercially available fabrics for the robe; they didn’t quite match. Thankfully, a solution presented itself. Stan was kind enough to layout the stripe pattern, which was then printed on printable fabric sheets on an inkjet printer. The vest is custom sculpted over a the base of a Solo vest from the figure that came with the speeder, then recast in a flexible urethane resin. Belt is from a Jawa bandolier. Hands are Colonel Cracken. Under all this, the body is a Black Series Luke Skywalker (Lightsaber Construction).
Thanks for viewing!
-
Another great looking custom! I never thought to print onto fabric like you have. Great idea!
-
Wow, just fantastic soft goods work here. Off to share.
-
Holy Smoke! Awesome work on the robe, but that vest transcends. :o
-
Man, your use of soft goods makes we want to cry. Beautiful work all around, but those fabric pieces make them a step above.
-
Loving your softworks.
You MUST post a how-to on soft-goods pattern printing.
-
I agree with the previous feedback! You make some of the best softgoods for 1/18 figures I know, Jaeger! I never heard of printable fabrics - the result turned out excellentäy with your inject printer!
Thanks for sharing your work of art! You take the likeness to the top! I hope Hasbro see this, too!
- Philipp
-
That is just disgustingly good. I can't wait to see what's next.
-
Printing a custom pattern on fabric is a great idea! The vest turned out amazing! Great job from design to execution.
-
We make a good team, love how this one came out , it took me while , but I got on board never look back. Excellent my friend and brother
-
You are really the master of fabric custom accessories.
The robe looks fantastic.
-
I would love to see some images and/or a video of the printing of the fabric for this.
-
Thanks for all the positive feedback! The printed fabric was very easy to use. I used Dritz “Printed Treasures” Inkjet fabric sheets, from my local fabric store. Until recently they were available on Amazon, as well, but they appear to be out of stock. There are a few other brands, too. Basically, it’s just a piece of white woven fabric, attached to a backing similar to waxed paper, about the size of an 8.5”x11” piece of paper. Ironing first seemed to help the adhesion. You print on it just like you’d print on office paper, peel off the backing, and rinse in cold water to remove any loose ink. Once dry, you cut out your project. The only trouble I ran into was the fabric detaching from the backing, jamming my printer, but again, ironing first seemed to help.
I’ll try to post my patterns sometime. None of these projects are terribly difficult. Most of them are just a modified T-tunic, fit a little looser or tighter, with a few seams. If you have a sewing machine and minimal sewing experience they whip out pretty quickly.
-
Thanks for the information. I will be sure to post on this!
-
Rayc Ryjerd—possibly played by Arnold Lee?
Rayc was a collaboration with Stan and our friend Kai. Head was obtained from Stan, who was kind enough to design and decal the ribbon. The base figure is VC Luke Crait, with forearms from Dr. Evazan. I swapped out feet with Rose Tico for height. Custom torso, soft goods, belt, buckle, and pouches.
-
That's a great figure! Nice combination of parts. I really appreciate the collaborative work you all are doing.
-
Just a phenomenal figure. I had this on the front page yesterday, not sure where my comments went though. Maybe its just me getting old. Great figure though!
-
Agreed! I really enjoy following your collaborations on here! With every new project I'm even more impressed! Keep up the amazing work, gentlemen.
-
Somehow, these figures keep getting better and better. That robe is the nicest piece of soft goods that I've ever seen!
-
That guy IS pretty sweet. I love that head.
-
Awesome figure, with more fantastic soft goods. Your work is very inspiring.
-
Your soft-goods work make me very envious. They look great! DH

The Priest—another deep backgrounder from Jabba’s Palace and Sail Barge. There’s a Luke Endor figure under there, head is a 90s Jean Luc Picard cast, boots are cast from a Prince of Persia figure. Custom soft goods, shoulder plaquard, and belt. Thanks to Stan for the pouch sculpt!
I tried something new for the collar/shoulder plaquard that gave a very nice fit. I typically use Moldstar 20T silicone for resin casting. In this case, I drizzled a bit of silicone over Luke’s neck, upper torso, and shoulders, and allowed it to cure.
This left a nonstick surface, over which I could sculpt the piece in Super Sculpey, oven bake the whole thing, and carefully remove. I then molded and resin cast the Sculpey piece. The resulting collar conforms perfectly with just enough room for thin soft goods underneath, and has more durability than the Sculpey. Will definitely be using this technique on future projects.
Make it so!

Hoover and Rockwart
(https://i.imgur.com/YebLM36.jpg)
Hoover and the Rockwart. Thanks to Kai and his sculptor Andreas for letting me take a crack at molding and casting these! I can’t take any credit for their incredible sculptures, I just cast and painted them. Will be great additions to Jabba’s Palace!
And a big thank you for all the positive comments and words of encouragement. Most of the soft goods are actually quite simple if you’ve used a sewing machine a few times. If anyone has done a bit of sewing and wants a pdf with the patterns, shoot me a pm with your email and I’d be happy to forward it along. Enjoy!
-
Like your figures. Keep up the Good Work. ;D
-
I agree. Great figures. Thanks for sharing.
Off to the front pages.
-
Damn! Your custom figures are setting the standard! Very nice.
-
The Priest—Actor Unknown
(https://i.imgur.com/txss39E.jpg)
Make it so!
And I was gonna be a smart @55 and say that
-
Really great figures. Hoover turned out really well. And the soft goods on Jean-Luc the Priest are really excellent.
-
That soft-goods work is crisp! Looks amazing. And the small little creatures would be a fantastic touch in any diorama. ()rr

Thul Fain
(https://i.imgur.com/xSwYocc.jpg)
Thul Fain
A deep backgrounder from Jabba’s Palace, Thul Fain is _barely_ visible in the alcoves as Boussh walks in through the darkened audience chamber to thaw out Han. Actor unknown, but he merited a Decipher card.
He’s heavily inspired by Echo_Six’s custom of the character; if you haven’t seen it yet, check it out! Echo_Six was also kind enough to provide fabric and pointers for the undertunic. Fabric for the robe was color-adjusted by Stan. Custom sewn robe and tunic. An amazing head sculpt commissioned from Evergrey! Underneath there is a Sallah (Indiana Jones) torso and arms, waist and legs from the IJ Temple Guard, and feet from Bom Vimdin.
Thanks for checking him out! I really appreciate everyone’s feedback and support. Have fun customizing!
-

I echo what Echo Six just posted. Wow! Such excellent soft goods work. Here figure all the way around. Off to the front pages.
-
Just stunning , you nail it !
-
This is excellent. I've seen Evergrey mentioned a few times now. Does he sell these head sculpts somewhere?
-
That's an exact replica. Fantastic job!
-
That soft goods cloak is unbelievable. Very nice work!
-
Excellent
-
Wow, what an excellent likeness to the reference material. These collaborative figures are turning out amazing!
-
Your softgoods are always of such an amazing quality, I fear I'm in danger of getting used to it!
Besides, the head looks spot on, too! As said above, already: You created an exact replica of Thul Fain in 1/18 scale - which I find most impressive - especially the head! Where can we get this headsculpt?
Echo_Six is exactly right: You leave us speechless, Jaeger! And pictures tell more than words.
Most impressive buddy! Thanks for sharing! Most respect for all your work!
-
Fantastic! Beautiful work!
-
Thanks for all the positive feedback! The gold detailing could be a little cleaner, but otherwise, I’m pretty happy with it.
A few of you have asked about Evergrey. You might remember his work from a Rebelscum thread a few years back. He’s a professional sculptor who lives overseas; he does better human likenesses than anyone else I know at this scale. While these are not routinely available, in regards to any specific requests, I’d refer you to Stan. He is responsible for making this happen and has commissioned the majority of these sculpts (which are not inexpensive).
