Thought I should make a place where we could post some reference pics of vehicles, characters, and any other SW subject that we might want to look at.
I have a few dream projects that I would like to tackle someday and was thinking that you yarders might be able to help me rustle up some pics for reference.
I've got a couple of pics to post tonight of the ATTE carrying LAAT and of the snowclones as seen on tonights episode of the Clone Wars. The LAAT pic came from wikia. The clone image is the cover of SW.com's latest online Clone Wars comic episode, "cold snap" with cover art by Jeff Carlisle.
Does anyone have any other pics of these two subjects?

found a couple more pics of that LAATc. Thanks to wikia.com for these shots.
-
You gonna make an ATTE carrier LAAT? Awesome! I think I may have a few pics of one I saw done up on ebay a few years back. I liked the looks of the snowclones too!

I would like to make one but might wait till I can find one of those new LAAT model kits.
Now a version of this snowclone might come sooner....
-
It is nice to see some missing link type troopers. These snowtroopers definitely look pretty good imo. Thier breathers almost look like Vaders! It was also interesting to see the Hoth versions of Anakin and Obi Wan too.

Yeah, I really liked those heavy coats with the jedi insignia.
Almost look like Vader's huh? I can see that too. That gives me an idea....
-
Pat, isn't this the clone that you were talking about? I can't see his visor very well, here. Is it an AOTC visor?
thanks to SW.COM for this shot. Does anyone have any other shots of this guy?
-
That is exactly the one I'm talking about, and there aren't many better shots out there than this one, unfortunately.
-
I've got two walker shots here and a drawing of the imperial juggernaut which was a concept of what the Empire was to use to invade Hoth prior to the birth of the atat walker idea. This juggernaut evolved eventually into the clone turbo tank.I believe that Joe Johnston penned this image.
Now I came across the two walker shots researching a cut scene that I remember from the first network television airing of TESB where a failing snowspeeder pilot Kamikazes his speeder into the face of a walker. I still cant find any images or video of this scene. The first walker shot here, is not the end result of the kamikaze attack as I remember it.
I have no idea where this shot came from originally. That goes the same for the second shot. I have never seen it before and in the context of the Hoth battle don't know where it belongs.
Thanks to starwarz.com for these shots
-
that looks fantastic!
-
I knew you would like those. I still can't find any origin on those two shots other than the second one was rumored to be made for a promo poster for a SNES game but I don't think so. They sure look like cut scenes from TESB to me.
-
Here is that second shot, again, as a poster. I've got quite a few SW posters and never seen that one before.
-
I would love to get that one. We need to see if Wayne has seen that poster before!
-
Pat, is this fig supposed to be the same sculpt that we were talking about? he isn't camo but I seen the helmet and thought of that other one.
This is a toy fair image of an upcoming clone figure. thanks to rebelscum.com for this image.

I seen this shot at yodasnews.com and thought of Tamer.

Every now and then I think it would look neat for a computer monitor to be installed in the ole troop bay. I am not sure though about the scale or if it might get too hot to use! Wouln't a walker make a daggone neat mini aquarium too! Neat pic Clint.
-
here is a nice shot of one of the models used in the filming of ESB, great color and weathering refrence
-
that is a nice shot, Wayne. thanks for that.
-
Looking around for Tamer's full 3 3/4 scale prototype walker, this morning, I came across this site and it's hoax report of a German ww2 walker. I thought you guys might get a kick out of it.

Now that is gonna be a front pager sometime this week! I love historical fiction (anyone read any Harry Turtledove?) and this one gave me some chuckles. I must say whoever put this together has one great imagination. It almost reminds me of some kind of spec sheet for a military WW2 version of dungeons and dragons.

Indeed, they list attributes of the walker like something that you would be rolling dice against.
-
I love this RPG stuff. They have a neat smaller chicken style walker too.
-
Check out this custom recovery walker I found pics of at Starship Modeler.com.

Here's a biped walker scratchbuilt and kitbashed for that same contest.

Nice FP story on that one. I figured that's what you were doing.
-
Man, I just spent the last half hour looking at some of those. The mods people have made just look awesome! That Yellow salvage walker is priceless. Still there is somethng wrong with a walker without some major firepower.

The yellow on that one almost kills it for me but it is a stunning piece of work, to be sure.
I thought you would like that stuff.
-
I really liked this cold weather trooper mod. I have another "Ive already built one stock looking version with minor detail mods" speeder bike model like the one he used that I bought to customize but the amount of work that he put into this one makes my planned simple Kashyyyk style repiant of the figure pale in comparrison.

Yeah, I saw that one too and was pretty impressed. I figured you might use this one as inspiriation for a col weather trooper yourself one day. The colors are pretty nice.

yep, those colors that he used are real nice. It's hard to believe that there is a sun shade shaved biker scout helmet underneith all of that extra trim. Amazing! He put some real love into that one.

I keep hoping we get another IMPS or some fan made film that will give us an Imperial Stories on Hoth. One hope I have is that the live action tv show, if it ever gets off the ground, will give us some of this too. Heaven knows it will be nice to get back to a regular figure physique as the CW figs are not doing much for me.

Well, that is something in the future to hope for.

Got a few shots of Commander Ponds which I plan on doing a skinny version of, this week. These shots belong to Lucasfilm LTD.

Shawn;
Remember that site where the folder was that had the proto walker with the gun? SWCA was it?
Remember the conceptual drawing of the imperial ATAT base?
Check out this thread at MD where one of their custom guys build it!

Sweet stuff.

indeed.

OK Spock. Man, can you imagine how long it took for him to make that station? Wouldn't I love to have that!

Sorry, I was deliberating..............Yes, buddy, that thing is right up your ally! I praised him in a reply and need to investigate further to see just how long it took him. What an awsome project.
-
Is that not insane?!? I think he posted that on RScum as he was building it, too. That's just an amazing piece. I want to see the other concept art sketches that were in that book, meself...
-
Give that man a link, Shawn.
Doc, I want you to pay special attention to the proto walker pic as I plan on making something quite similar in the very near future.
-
I will see if I can find it later today. Its been a hiary morning!
-
Tamer, I believe that you would like to see the shots of these two different dios that I found in yakface.com (http://www.yakfaceforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=66095#66095).
One of them is Hothy.................
-
Those were 2 excellant dios! They seemed like a photo out of the movies, that guys has some talent.
-
I am seriously digging his walls! I need to do some walls like that for setting up dio-shoots. Also, the Yakfinities #29 - Teams! Holy crow... now I *have* to get in gear!! Heck, Fixer could show two teams - one from Capt Wran's days with the crew of aliens and from Capt. Bartan's days with the Capt and Fixer and the array of customized droids Fixer uses to run the ship. I've got a month and a half and Bartan is already almost totally done.
ETA: Anyone got ideas on how to make a Verpine??

You did ask this in the reference pic thread, ergo, do you have a pic, Doc?
-
oopsie... :-X
I do on my old computer, lemme see here...

My first thought is to start with a battle-droid head and mold on parts from there, but I've never done that, so I don;t know if that is a GOOD thought...
-
That could be a good starting point. I was thinking that using the droid's head and joints while building up a framework out of wire and sculpting the body and limbs around it using sculpey, could work. I am not the sculpey expert here, I believe that Customcloner John has had quite a bit of experience with it. Alas, my former apprentice hasn't been present here, in some time.
Mesa thinks the Dark Side got him.
-
Man, I loved the Hoth dio. Sweet stuff. The hanger wasn't bad either.
-
Speaking of Hoth dios, I am starting a Hoth dio of my own and plan on using these two pics I found on Wiki to serve as a guide.

Bring it on!

I may have to pick up a couple more hoth rebel troopers for this one. Those guys all look the same in those shots.

good luck mate ive done one myself the top pic of the fig is slightly inaccurate compared to the show design i watched the episode a few times pausing at the times to get a better feel for the design the chest stripe goes to the bottom of the breast plate is one difference
