Title: Kurgan_jr.'s custom figures
Post by: Kurgan_Jr. on September 29, 2009, 10:56:39 AM
Tonight I added a second coat of paint on the custom Clone helmets Dad helped me do:
one is a General Veers helmet mixed with a Commander Cody helmet, the other is a General Veers helmet mixed with an AOTC Clone helmet.
The latter is going to fit on my Comic Pack Republic Commando when finished.

Kurgan Jr....Ahhh, following in your father's footsteps, I'm not sure whether he should be ashamed of himself for getting you so into Star Wars stuff or be congratulated. You could be scarred for life young one!

I'm really looking forward to seeing what you create.

While dad worked on his Ordo figure, I experimented with a custom figure of my own.

Commander Green is based on a Clone Wars Commander Gree fitted with a shoulder plate of a sniper figure which I have painted dark green and the head of a GI Joe Duke.
The weapon comes from my weapons box, I forgot where it comes from.

I'm a sucker for headswaps - seems half my own customs are nothing but headswaps.  I want to use that sniper plate on one of my ideas, but the Cmdr. Faie armor is too big across the chest for it to fit.

I did this custom figure yesterday from parts out of dad's parts bin.
It's not Star Wars, but I like him nonetheless: Gi Joe Duke as adventurer:

Dad let me use the digicam this morning so I could take pictures of my Lego troopers and their custom weapons.

Here are the parts needed for some custom weapons:

EMP Launcher

Sniper Rifle

Heavy Blaster

Rotating Blaster (Minigun)

The parts can be glued together for more strength and durability and even painted for realism.

Legos are where customizing begins!

Man, I miss my legos...   I loved building ships and vehicles mostly.  When I got older I got some of the lego-Mindstorms kits and started messing with robotics...  I built an R2-D2 robot that held my digital camera and would run around on it's own snapping pictures as it went.....  great fun at parties :)

Am I sensing another board on it's way?...

btw kurgans (plural), have you ever ran across the lego virtual building program?  It is downloadable from lego.com I think, look for it.  It's pretty awesome.  You get to build a 3d model of anything you can imagine with almost every imaginable basic lego piece available.  Then when your done you can print or save step by step instructions on how to rebuild whever you created!  There is a huge cult folowing in the lego community using the program and you can save your creations and send them to other people with the program.  You can even order the parts used in your digital creation from lego directly (for an inflated fee) at cost per part!

What are Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable going to do when they are grown up?
That's right, I think they will join G.I. J.O.E..
And this is how they will look:

sorry K Jr.never saw this page as of now,you must have been away for sometime for it to finally make it's way back to page 1.I've tried to view all these threads, but theres a lot.anyway, nice Lego's.you know,me and my older brother use to customise Lego's back in the day.we use to make Transformers from them, and this is WAAAAY before Kre-o came out.I'd explain how,but it'd take way to long.they were very simple to make and transform, but they were cool.I'd love to show you guys one day just how creative my brother use to be,and he was one of the 1st customisers ever(literally),that's a bold statement, but it's true.great work though, hope to see a lot more.
