Thanks to Orangepeace, who sent me the link for this, we now have access to the new mail away redemption. Full detials can be found on the Hasbro Official Site Redemption Page (http://www.hasbro.com/starwars/en_US/discover/news/boba-offer.cfm).

I like how they didn't restrict it to certain lines this time. Oh, if I only had a working printer. I will have to wait for my folks to send me some.

Yes buddy, that would be most kind.

I will have em in the mail by tomorrow.

And on that note if anyone has any extra upc's to sell me I would love to buy about five more to send in to get one more. Thanks!

Wait, so we don't need a redemption form that comes with the action figures?  SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!   :D

I have five for this guy, that I've been saving, just waiting in envy for him to come out; I have five extras (more, if I look in a shoe-box I keep this stuff in), if somebody wants them, then?  Just PM me, and I'm sure we can work something out.

Got mine, all good to go.  All that's left is to get a money order, and send it out, which I can do at the PO...  Let's hope this goes well.  ;D

In an attempt to gather some more upcs to take advantage of this offer, until further notice, I will trade 5 resin cast force unleashed imperial navy commando heads or 5 resin cast republic commando heads either nubbed or hollow for every 5 hasbro star wars figure upcs that you yarders send to me.
Here's how it will work, you contact me by way of pm to get my shipping addy, then send the upcs with a note saying which of the above pieces you want to trade for, then I will make the pieces and send em to you using the return addy on the envelope that you sent. Please, no substitutions, just an amount of the parts mentioned above to equal 5 for every 5 upcs. Lets not clog up this thread with a bunch of replies inquiring about this offer. Remember, if you are a new member and haven't made at least 10 postings in the forums, the pm system won't work for you until you do. Also remember, the postal service uses slotted sorting tables for letters that are thin enough so if you just throw your upcs in an envelope with a note, the envelope could get caught in these slots and get torn up or lost. My suggestion would be to make your envelope larger than these slots by packing in, say, a wadded up plastic walmart back or something else to make it thicker.
This offer stands until I end it in this and my parts for sale thread. Thanks in advance for your help and understanding in this quest.

Get this, folks.............NEWS FLASH
(http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6030/5910828712_f37e01310e.jpg)

I just found out that Hasbro changed the official redemption form available at their website to now limit the upcs that will qualify for the Prototype Fett to these lines that are currently warming the pegs. "my guess is that is why they changed it, to inspire the collectors to buy the old retail fodder that they havent wanted to buy for a year now"

Collect and save the UPC codes of any 5 figures from these Star Wars action figure collections: Vintage (97568 Asst.), Saga Legends (21115 Asst.) or The Clone Wars (94736 Asst.)

Here is the url for the official form so you can see for yourself.
http://www.hasbro.com/starwars/en_US/discover/news/loader.cfm?csModule=security/getfile&pageid=2392 (http://www.hasbro.com/starwars/en_US/discover/news/loader.cfm?csModule=security/getfile&pageid=2392)

What an epic fail for everyone who was led to believe that their older upcs would work like from the saga, legacy, or tac lines.
There is no word from hasbro if they will honor the wide open lines accepted redemption forms that have already been sent in.

I guess I might ask another q&a question about this subject after all.

I have to agree with Spooky. I don't know that I have heard of them over not taking any upcs to be honest.

Hope so because some of the first ones I sent in were a few years old. We will see if I get my Fetts. I sent in for quite a few the other day too. It is gonna be Fett Frenzy at the Tamer Household.

now three of my checks have cleared.

Check this out, the downloadable form from Hasbro has changed again.
Now they are back to any upcs from hasbro star wars figures but what's this? Now the downloadable form from the Hasbro pdf does not count as a valid redemption form. LOL, What a bunch of maroons. With vintage distribution like we have seen for the last year, do they think that anyone is going to be able to find a packaged form?

Wow, don't think I have ever seen this many running changes to a mail away offer. I wonder what else we are going to see? No offense, but you can't negate those printable forms they offered earlier.

I need to go see how  many of my checks have cleared. What a mess.

Clint, thanks for the word.

caught this official Hasbro response on Yakface.com today. Thanks, Yakface, for getting this cleared up for us.

Yakface: Recently, there have been a few revisions made to the terms of the Mailaway Prototype Boba Fett info posted on Hasbro.com since August 31, 2011 (the date of the original posting).

Fans are looking for some definitive clarification to this as the original form (version 1) didn’t stipulate what action figure assortment UPCs were valid for the redemption form. As a result, last week the downloadable pdf form on Hasbro.com was updated (version 2) to specifically call out the three qualifying assortments (Vintage, Clone Wars and Saga Legends). This sent the fan sites’ buzzing and Hasbro’s customer service phone line ringing fielding calls from confused collectors wondering if the original forms (version 1) would be honored from those that already sent in the forms, UPCs and S/H money.

Obviously the original form’s verbiage was in error, but now matters are worse as the online form has been further revised (now version 3 in as many weeks) and is now only a sample – (i.e. not available for redemption) and collectors must send in the actual printed form included with new figures that will be shipping to retailers. Again, collectors are wondering if the the Version 2 forms will be accepted as those aren’t the official “packed-in” printed forms.

Needless to say, collectors who are already frustrated with finding new product are further exasperated with this recent development. Does Hasbro have any official comment/details on this issue that we can pass on to our readers.

Thanks in advance for any insights you or your team can provide.

HASBRO: Thank you for sharing the community’s concerns, and sorry about the confusion!

Those individuals who have submitted non-watermarked downloaded redemption forms, or an on-pack redemption form, along with UPCs from any of Hasbro’s STAR WARS figure assortments will receive their figure. However, if the downloaded PDF redemption form was watermarked, it will not be accepted.

Moving forward, Hasbro will require the original on-pack redemption form, NOT the downloadable PDF version, along with UPCs from any of Hasbro’s STAR WARS figure assortments.

Thats awesome Joe. I would hurry up and send em in before they change their minds again.

I honestly think they will never ever again allow any SW UPC as that means we can use up our older ones when there was no mailaway. I have a thought they may try to keep it to their newer lines only to try and get us to empty some of the pegs.

Pic is up in the new purchases thread.

I haven't opened any of em up yet. I didn't see if they were in one mailer box or two like the other fetts, but wow was it awesome to see all that vintage goodness in one place. Most of the boxes seem ok. One is a little dinged up, and it will be the one I open up to see whats what. As for the upcs all you have to do is ask the Yarders and they will come through every time.
Title: Re: Prototype Boba Fett Mail Away Redemption
Post by: Tamer on October 12, 2011, 03:24:39 PM
Wow Spooky that stinks. Your mailman must be related to mine. I was kinda hoping Hasbro would have stuck to that double boxed method they used to protect the other vintage rocket firing fetts. Guess there was no luck this time although Clint's pic shows a bit more protection.
Title: Re: Prototype Boba Fett Mail Away Redemption
Post by: Spookymufu on October 12, 2011, 05:49:10 PM
Tamer, I think Hasbro did a fine job this time, their box was sturdy and had spacers inside to help keep the bubble nice and intact and not crushed. They did a fine job this time around, this was pure and simple mailman stupidity, he tried to shove the box into a slightly smaller mailbox hole and he pushed and pushed until it fit and smashed up the end of the box. He could have easily took it to the managers office and dropped it off for me and left a little note in the box.

The rocket fett boxes were a disaster, there was no protection at all, the boxes were thin and they were all crushed and smashed causing the cards to get destroyed and the bubbles to get mashed and dislodged from the cards, they didnt start double boxing them until they got complaints from 100,000 people about smashed and damaged fetts collector cardbacks.

No, this time they did everything right, it was the mailman's idiocy of wanting to hurry up and move on to the next stop...........no wonder they are losing business, they cant even deliver the mail properly.....
Title: Re: Prototype Boba Fett Mail Away Redemption
Post by: Tamer on October 13, 2011, 02:52:21 AM
Well if you remember the last time when they mailed them out they actually did change the mailers to include two boxes, one of the regular mailers and then a thicker outside box which really did a nice job protecting the integrity of the box. I was hoping they would do that again, but do agree they did have some protection this time.
Title: Re: Prototype Boba Fett Mail Away Redemption
Post by: Spookymufu on October 13, 2011, 03:25:05 AM
yeah, they started double boxing them after they got all the complaints, I got mine in the first wave of single thin boxes but got lucky and got a near mint card, this time was much better then that time.......

I just have to chuckle that Hasbro just can't keep up with the demaind and keep their distribution under control. It is a formula to bankruptcy for a business if you ask me. I wonder how much the company spent on the postage and on those fancy postcards?

Don't remember that one being as widespread, but once again it serves to illustrate the issues Hasbro has in creating and then dissemenation their product. I think those are the two most basic laws they teach you in business school. I think its about time to podcast on the state of the union in regards to SW Collecting.

Yeah, I went kinda nuts and think ended up with twenty some before I was done. Nice redemption though and before they clarified it you could send in any pops. Hope we get a decent mail away soon again, but it sure didn't sound like it when we asked Hasbro at C6.
