Hey there.
this Diorama here was build some time ago,but i had to restore it this late summer because it showed wear and tear as well as some minor damages.Everything is scratchbuild from various materials except the Figures of course which are kotobukiya-sandys,simply repainted.i think i let the pictures tell the story, since i don know where to start here.the compad on the door really works, there is a small screen, attached to a DVD player inside the base.the Waethering effects where done using every possible way, hairspray, sponging, washes with acrylics and artist oil paints etc...the building was made from Styrofoam coated with plaster.i have som WIP Pics i can post if you wish...

some more details shots...the Astromech is Hasbro's 12 inch, but the interior of it is scratchbuild

Incredible! Tell us about the vaperator build.

The Vaporator was build mainly from a Mcflurry cup(from the Clown, you know:-)) and plastic tubes from the plumbers section in the Hardware-store.the details are from an 1:35 M-1 Abrams Mine plow(Tamiya-Kit) and some Aircraft-Parts.i also incorporated a soft drink plastic bottle.generally i wanted it to look like a modern version of the Vaporators you see in the movies.the lights are small leds to have some kind of toplights here
painting was done with airbrush and then all kinds of washes.highlights were picked out with a modellingknife blade and some fine sandpaper.

here is how i made the surface of the building including the chipped of part.i used household plaster mixed with white glue for this.

This dio was the first IronPanda project I've ever seen and it is beyond awesome.
There's even detailing of the details.
It is, pardon my French, fucking cool.
Photo realistic.

Thanks for those. It's great to see some of the steps it takes to get to something so nice looking.
-
Wow, that was a great way to get that chipped off part on that house. Thank you for sharing.

here is how everything started,a lot of ideas...
the "technical armature"(for lack of a better term) was build to attach it to the side of the building.it was first sprayed black, then artist rubber masking fluid was applied with a sponge, then airbrushed green and light blue.after removing the fluid, final weathering was applied with washes of brown and black
