New York Toy Fair 2012
« on: February 10, 2012, 08:38:39 AM »

I figured it was high time to create a thread for us to put down all of our new images and nuggets of information we get from Toy Fair. Sadly, I won't be able to go this year, but I am sure you all can help me inform everyone of the new information we glean from it. It is definitely on my list of things I want do next year, CVI permitting.

I was going to try to post those sometime today.  They are the 2012 GG PGM  gift choices.  There's also a voldemort mini bust from The Deathly Hallows that I'll be getting.

Yepper, I just see I got an email from GG with them in there too. The ironic thing is GG loaded up a new video on their Tube Channel, but made no mention of these and just showed some of their older items. I thought for sure they would show us new items. It looks like they haven't made prototypes of some of them yet though.

Here is the Voldemort Bust Pat was talking about

and it looks like there will be a Dwalin Mini Bust too.

Hasbro is being very tight lipped this time and is not allowing recording devices so I am hoping for a big announcement of some sort.

It might not be, but one can hope. It sounds like right now they are starting off with new hub cartoons, my little pony, and are doing a Transformers Presentation. I will try to give you guys the text info as I get it. I am trying to watch RS' and JTA's coverage. I have found both places to be very thorough and good people.

You can follow both yourselves at the links below, but I will try to keep it concise and to the point like I always try to do. Next year I am going.

Looks like they are saving the SW Presentation for last. That figures. I wonder how many irritated site heads and staff are sitting in NYC right now?

AMP'D Line:

These sound like SW Vehicles with interchangeable parts with very small figures. I am getting a picture of the concept Uglies here.

AAT with BD Comamnder

Jedi StarFighert...AT-RT

STAP & Battle Droid

Sounds like it was fast and furious and Dan must have been typing furiosly to get out as much info as he did. I can't wait to see the panel presentation. Lets hope we really go get a carbon freezing chamber to go with the sdcc exclusives. Wishful thinking I know, but that one has me a bit excited.

I knew you would be pretty disappointed in TCW Line Up Jay, but it sounds like they are going to make some realistic figures from TCW Series like Ahsoka and Obi-Wan so perhaps that might cheer you a bit. Perhaps not.

I think right now I am most excited by the idea of a Carbon Freeze Exclusive. I know its six figures including what sounds like a gorgeous new Bespin Leia, but I am hoping we see a new carbon freeze playset. From what I can glean so far it is just a cardback or packaging design exclusive to SDCC while the regular version will be on special foil cards. Either way I am a bit excited, but hope its an actual freeze playset.

Dan shows us what Freezo Jar Jar looks like. Absolutely hilarious.
