Thanks!
-
As always, awesome work!!
-
it's great to see these again spectre. I love all your vehicles, have since the first day I've seen them. You take the "used galaxy" look that star wars is so famous for and throw it to a whole new level. The Ugly's and the bikes are some of the best I've seen ever.
It's nice to see ya here at the yards.
-
Dude, everything in here is sweet. Your paint apps are killer too.
-
Dude, where do I start....oh yes, I go down on my knees and bow to your awesomeness!!! That is the finest collection of 'chop shop' vehicles I've ever seen, the combinations are just superb. The paint apps again are superb and seeing all these wonderful creations is most inspiring.
-
impossible !! un******believable
-
Wow. Well I got one of em on the front page.
Needless to say a few more of these will go up in the near future.
I like them all. That X-Wing Viper is freaking fantastic as is that paint job you put on that Sky-Hopper.
Thank you for sharing all of these with us.
I was so amazed at your custom figures and now this. You sir are a customs genius among the many we have here!
-
EVERYTHING IS AWESOME! ;D
-
First off, welcome to the yards. SecondI really wish you would have posted 1 or 2 of these per day as it is so hard to take in all of this awesome sauce at once. Though I will try to! I love your kit bashes! I am jealous of your fodder as it is so diverse. Your vehicle designs are superb and the paint aps even better. These are some of the most creative vehicles I have ever seen. I really like the uglies you have done and have been gathering fodder to try a few myself. Congrats on all the great work you have on display here.

spectre's repertoire of customs is huge...
Just how many years of customizing does this collection span spectre?
What is so overwhelming to you guys here is that he's got everything organized already and is simply copying and pasting his work into the forum here, not that that is wrong or a bad thing, but for people who've never seen his work before it'll be hard for them to keep up with the sheer amount he'll be able to post in one sitting!
-
Everything is awesome man.. just great work. I love customizing vehicles myself and you have a nice setup there. I especially love the Nemoidians' transport. That by far is a jewel in anyones crown.
Keep up the great work!
-
I.
Am.
In.
Awe.
Inutterably amazing work! Welcome aboard and glad you found your way over here!
-
Hey you have some really great stuff. Can't wait to see more.
-
DUDE!! I am now personally a big FAN!!
your work is wicked!!
-
wow... that is some great stuff...
thanks so much for posting!!
-
I do agree with Doc Outlands, your creations are so amazing that it is a shame you've ejaculated them all on the first page of your post, so many of the members will miss out on seeing them that way!
Why not post these again at intervals so that we can ask questions and get some insight into how they were made. As an avid vehicle customiser I'd love some clues as your ships are totally out of this world!!!!
Please take this post as a compliment, as I am an instant fan of your creations!

Thanks!, I appreciate your comments on my ships :)
I am glad that everyone is enjoying my work, but as to why I put everything up at once instead of in drips and drabs, I want to make sure that everything is here for people to peruse at their leisure so I can post newer creations when they are finished (and there are alot of new ones coming in the next few weeks- not to mention the next few months and years :) ) instead of waiting weeks for everyone to catch up(especially with my "storyline" customs seen in my custom figure thread, if i posted the latest "chapters" people reading would be lost as to what is happening). I know it is alot to digest, but with everything here at one time, people can take it all in at a pace they are comfortable with. I still remember all of the parts and techniques I used to create everything (even going back to my oldest work) so I can answer any and all inquries whenever they arise :)

Ok, Spectre you are forgiven!
Now onto business...I absolutely love the "Ugly" with the Joe Skyhawk cockpit, please can we have the secret to it's creation?
-
Welcome to the Shipyards! It's hard to believe that I have never seen your work before as there has been alot to miss.
Your first page of posts have to contain some of the best examples of scratchbuilding and kit bashing that I have ever seen.

Ok, Spectre you are forgiven!
Now onto business...I absolutely love the "Ugly" with the Joe Skyhawk cockpit, please can we have the secret to it's creation?
Thanks for forgiving me :)
The Ugly w/ the Skyhawk cockpit is primarily made from a ton of old Ertl Star Wars kits from the 80s (DV TIE for the body and wing panels, 2 B-Wings for the gun bases and cuttings from the A-Wing and X-Wing kits) with a vintage Joe Skyhawk fuselage and canopy cover (w/handlaid action figure bubble trimmings for the "glass") inserted through the windshield opening on the DV TIE. The truncated end of the fuselage is held in place with lightweight silicate caulk (to bond it to the inside of the styrene DV TIE) and contour putty to make everything match up, the rest is just surface detailing trimmed from a bunch of old models and G.I. Joe toys.
I created it simply as an excuse to use the Skyhawk body I got in a lot (lot contained over 300 ARAH Joes, a complete Terrordrome, almost every pre-1991 vehicle except for the Flagg, and several thousand accessories all purchased for $25 from a guy that came into my friend's comic shop looking to get rid of his kid's stuff when he went away to college :) ) as it looked sufficently spaceworthy once the glass was installed. The rest of the ship came about as I fiddled with different shapes (mostly looking at the connection point where the body of the starfighter would link up with the back of the cockpit of the Skyhawk). I, to this day, have still not painted the front replacement landing gear you see in the pics and I built that ship in 2002 :-[

Dude, I am going to try to make one myself!
For our benefit can you show us some of the images again, it's such an amazing creation!
-
Yes, I echo what Jules is asking. Any WIP pics would be great as well.
-
I took a bit of time today to get into this and must say your Uglies are some of the most beautiful constructions I have seen. That B-Wing Xwing Interceptor combination blew my mind.
I love that AT-LST vehicle too. Your weapons array on that is awesome.
I can't wait to get into this more. That xwing viper rocks too.
Thanks so much for sharing these with us.
-
excellent vehicles Spectre
especially your kitbashed rebel vehicles are spectacular
-
got that AT-LST on the front page.
-
Yes, I echo what Jules is asking. Any WIP pics would be great as well.
Sorry guys, I almost never do WIP pics because I do the actual builds so fast (painting takes FOR-EVER though :( ). I can probably do some additional pics from different angles sometime over the next few days though as a consolation.
-
sounds good Spectre!
-
Awesome vehicles man
-
Killer vehicles. I wish I had your talent.
-
Welcome to the yard, ghostpantz....told ya the water is fine, :)
Spectre is probably the most prolithic customizer out there and definitely one of the most creative, :) Instant fan...and I think if you have not shown them already, the cross over verses are a freaking amazing labor of love that will win you friends and influence people, :)
Where is the halloween special>?
-
First of all welcome to the yards man, and of course what an amazing vehicles you have done, really amazing ones!
-
Ohhh that is a wonderful creation! what is it? what parts have you used?
The detailing really makes this stand out and the paintwork is perfectly done!

Thanks!
The main hull is either a Mortal Kombat Dragon Wing or a Pirates Of Dark Water Wraith (they shared a mold), the 4 steering vanes are cut from a Captain Planet Eco Cruiser's wings, the turret is a modified version of the one from the Tron 3 Man Light Jet and everything else is just assorted fodder from my parts boxes.
I debated long and hard about adding the ship's name like I did on Miss Swan's Regret, but ultimately decided not to do it on this one as none of the ships from the "Pirates Of Dark Water" cartoon had their names on them so I figured some continuity was in order (besides, being from outside the galaxy, Ren and Tula most likely cannot read/write Aurebesh so they would not be able to label the ship in anything that the rest of the galaxy could read anyway LOL)
-
Sweet ship, on the front page.
-
Your craftmanship is stunning!!!
These are production level!!!
I am in awe!!!
-
THAT SAND SKIFF IS AMAZING,I HAD NO IDEA YOU DID ALL THOSE COOL CUSTOM VEHICLES.THEY ARE SICK!!!GREAT WORKS OF ART.
-
Great ship man, nice job!
-
Incredible job on that!
-
I am glad that you enjoyed this project.
This was one tough build! It looks deceptively simple, but there were some difficult hurdles to overcome. I had to entirely gut the rear pod (Lava version I won at the Tri-State Vipers Get Together last year, :) ) and then scratch build the interior (hardest part of this was removing the console, that was some thick, unyeilding plastic :( ). The hardest part of the entire project was mating the Lava Pod to the Mole Pod, thet do not line up properly and there was a major seam that had to be filled in using Elmers Wood Glue. It took 2 tries but I finally got them to line up properly and filled the seam. I caught a lucky break as the wood glue is self leveling so by standing the craft on it's tail (prior to adding the details on the back), I got a beautiful even seal! :)
BTW, if anyone was wondering, the wicked looking drill tip is a modified "Green Lantern" construct.
-
This is really amazing work, its Awesome, great job!
-
Darn you and your amazing vehicles! I have a lava and mole pod sitting on my shelf waiting for me to join them together! I was building the same thing with the same idea for a future chapter of SW Apocalypse! Holy cow, what are the odds? Any how, yours looks awesome! It is a great idea with amazing execution. Your vehicles are some of the best I have seen! Great job man!
-
The detail on this is amazing. To the front page.
-
I hated the orginal toy but this makes it look very buyable
-
Such an awesome vehicle! Would fit right in with Star Wars Apocalypse or my Sandos! Great job! Heck even Dune!
-
Dude! That is SICK!
-
Well done Spec. I've looked at this thing several times, and everytime and I thought nah its crap.....now I'm thinking I just lacked the proper vision.
Keep up the good work!!
-
I love the kitbashed fighter/viper and the sand pirate fighter. They are totally awesome!! If you ever want to sale them, let me know. I've just started to get the idea to start customizing, and the work you do is outstanding. I'm a great admirier of your work. Thanks for the motivation. bbfet
-
So much better cannons. Love the missle pods too. I am envious. Off to share Dan.
I like the back story too.
-
Sweet ship! I agree about the a-10. It's foolish to think the f-35 can compare in a ground assault. This TIE would make a good replacement though.
-
Looks Awesome! way better than that Nerf Monstrosity
-
Due to the issue with Photobucket and 3rd Party Hosting, I am moving all of my customs to the new Facebook page I created for them (link in first post).
-
I have finally added the last custom figure that needed to be photographed to "The Spectreverse", a Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/Spectreverse/ ) devoted to my custom Universe's galleries!
There are still 11 custom vehicles that need to be photographed but I need to make a larger area to photograph them in, which I will do this weekend.
There are still several write-ups that need to be rewritten as they were lost to forum server changes over the years, but they will be redone in time. The stories are still in my head, I just need to type them all out again.
Please stop by, check out over 20 years worth of creations and please give the page a "Like" if you can.
