Camouflaged Scout Trooper Sniper
« on: May 28, 2013, 07:38:17 AM »
I rescued this old AMT Scout Trooper & Speeder Bike kit from my parts box. The original was badly assesmbled and poorly painted, so I took it apart, stripped off the paint and reassembled it. I went with a non-traditional paint job to cover up some of the damage that had occured during the resurection process. I always felt that bright white uniforms in the forest was a pretty foolish idea, anyway.

That kit was my first SW model kit. Built it with my dad. Awesome revamp, Spuda!

Thanks for that, Mr. Black. This was one of my early builds, as well; that's why I wanted to resurect it... pure nostalgia.

Can't do that, mine has probably been recycled to some SW Angry Birds set piece by now :)

Btw, excellent avatar there! Old skool space Lego, back when every space vehicle consisted of mostly grey bricks and the astronauts were white  ;D

I thought this one was long gone, too. I found him in pieces in the bottom of a box of junk that had been moved to two or three houses before being opened.

I'm happy to see that someone recoginsed the old Lego Space logo. I spent endless hours as a kid with those grey bricks and white-suited astronauts; I had some amazing adventures on that little 12-inch-square Lego moonscape tile.

Cheers.
