Title: Zoon3d custom figures
Post by: Zoon3d on October 09, 2019, 01:14:19 AM
Hi all, new here and first post. I've been working on some obscure figures recently, here's my first - Auromae Iselo, one of Enfys Nest's Cloudriders from the Solo film. Used a TFA Resistance Trooper body and legs, arms from a TFA Finn, all heavily modified, with a custom head. Much of the armour and head actually made from masking tape

Wow, first off welcome to ISY. Thanks for joining up and sharing.

Two, I like this one. And what a cool medium to make the armour and head! Off to share it on the front pages.

Thanks Tamer, I tried sculpting the fabic folds and also tried soft goods but they didn't hang correclty. Masking tape was the only thing that seemd to fold correctly - plus side it has a bit of texture to it so a good substitute for fabric. Doesn't quite come across in the photo

Awesome, and a really creative solution to the clothing folds problem.  Well done!

Welcome to the Yards Zoon3d! I'm glad you joined the crew here! Your custom design reminds me a little bit of the red costumes seen on Jedha in Rogue One. I think I need to watch SOLO once more because I don't remember this character...
The head in particular makes me curious of the actual shape of the head. Or is Auromae smuggling something? You can definitely not travel by plane like that is the first thing that came to my mind at first sight.
I really like the colors you chose and your design of the costume!
And I agree with Moronoarama about the solution for the robe - the masking tape worked excellently! You did an amazing job on sculpting and painting!

Thanks for sharing & may the force be with you!

- Philipp

Iselo turned out really well. I have to concur with the input of the others so far, using masking tape was a really good idea for managing the folds in the "fabric." Really excellent work. Welcome to the 'yards.
