And here is what all of the hubub is about. The pieces from the droid factory packs assemble into this beast.
The shoulder pads are removable as is the back pack. His gun, like himself, is a larger version of the dark trooper that we seen in the saga legends packaging last year. He has joints at the ankle, elbow, shoulder, knee, hip, and his head turns from side to side.
-
Compare this one with the saga legends dark trooper. what a bruiser, eh? See as he gives the smak-down to the little SA2 dark trooper
Getting him to hold that position was a pain in the butt!
-
Awesome Darktrooper!
-
I have not been able to find one of these packs, let alone all of them at once. >:(
i have 3 of the earlier release darktroopers, but really want the larger buildable one.
not really stoked about all of the repack figs you buy to get one either, but the droids would also be nice to get too.
Still looking...
-
Dana, I'd be interested in the Fett fig, if you decided to get that pack for the BL-17 droid & Darktrooper piece and get rid of Fett.
-
You are on if I ever do GET this one.
-
I'd love a couple of these bad boys, but I refuse to pay that kind of money for a bunch of repacks. Just ain't gonna happen.
-
That is kind of how I see it. $7.50 a fig and $2 for a part of a fig for $17 plus total for repacks?
But some of the droids are REAL nice and the buildable is REALLY nice.
Maybe two keeper figs and three for customs or trade. Lot of money....
And lots of thinking on this one....
-
Remember to check those packs for the droid parts before you buy em. Thieves like to steal the Dark Trooper parts out of the packages.
-
Very sound advice.

Boy, what an awesome addition to the Star Wars Hasbro line up. This dude looks like nothing could take it down.
One thing I think we can all agree on, the better figs will eventually see the light of day again. I can remember paying huge prices on the bay for my first darktrooper only to have em put it as a legends repack. I bet I see these at my local walmart before too long and if so I bet they go clearance.
-
Let me know if they do. I just don't see these in as wide of a release as the first wave.
-
saw them today, bought them! I like the boba and the droid he came with (although I would have liked a ball joint in the droids), the r2 units were ok, the other figures the kids. The cortosis battle droid is alright, kind of disapointed with the arm articulation.
the dark trooper is pretty awesome though. Of course I would like it even more if it had ball jointed hips and a ball jointed neck... of course that's why I'm a customizer, I'll fix it!

I will be sure to let you know. These went for five bucks a pop when they clearanced last time.
-
Love it, now when Rom Moch comes out it will be even better as well as the Darktrooper wave 1 as a army builder I am glad in star wars cannon there was only one Dark Trooper phase 3 it would cost way to much to army build.
-
I am still looking for more of these parts, the lowest Wallys have the sets are at $15.00 and they only have the crappy Anakin SBD pack, I may have to resort to Evilbay for one of these.
-
What parts are you looking for?
-
Arms, back wing and a head and gun,
-
I bought all the figs in this line just for the DarkTrooper pieces at $17 a pack....
and now I cannot bring my self to open them...
Not Yet anyway.
I near had a fit when I paid for them. They were on a shelf marked $9.99 ....
I didn't read the tag at all and was all too happy to find them, and all 5 were there.
I am still seeing these around occassionally, but they are not marked down at all.
Seems all they mark down here is crap I dont even want for their new price.
-
Go ahead and open them, you will be glad you did
