I like the Rex. It is a shame that the Hasbro made figure was such a dud. You have definitely improved their work.

Wow, more stuff here already. You are definitely working the custom loop this week. I love the new helmet sculpt. Arctic Rex with Cody or something along those lines. I think Pauldron on.

Clint, I am totally impressed
the Veers and the AT-AT driver are phenomenal

The new arctic Rex helmet with ARF shield looks very good. I can't wait to see one of them with paint.

Thanks guys. Alright, you talked me into keeping the pauldron. I am starting to feel the fever for this figure already and Shawn's new gunner may have to wait a bit.

I went ahead and glued the stone neck nub in place and then patched the chest hole with resin and carved it down smooth with the chest armor. I didn't completely fill the cavity in the chest as I didnt want to hinder the arm movement. I casted up two rots clone shoulderpads to use in place of the arctic rex shoulder pads and tacked em into place so as not to hinder the up and down shoulder movement. I dremeled out some more of the underside of the pauldron so it would fit lower as well. I still need to try a flametrooper backpack on this guy to see   if it will clear the pauldron.
I am considering heating up the lower parts of the snow ops rex helmet to bend and make it droop in a more realistic fashon towards the pauldron which is something I need to decide on and do fairly quickly as it is nearly time to get some paint on this guy.

Dude, he's got more armor than an AT-AT. I love it. If you took away the pauldron he could be a Snow Ops. Cody or obviously some other commander.

Freakin' awesome Clint! I can tell this guy is going to rock! Awesome looking concept to me. What/how  did you use to fill the hold in the chest? Looks perfect!

Well , since I am so used to working with it, the resin is my sculpting medium of choice now, LE. I was casting anyways so when I got to the end of the material in my pot, I let it thicken some and then troweled it into the hole to make the patch. When it hardened up, I used the x-acto to shave the surface to match the contours of the chest armor.

time to paint him up, I think. I still want to heat and bend the lower part of his face mask so it drapes down over the pauldron more closely.

I am going to go with the snow ops theme with this one anyways, Tom. we will just consider him a snow ops arf arc. LOL

Thanks felix. I have a feeling that this one could come together fairly quickly.

Ah, sounds like a good technique Clint. Can we get a full body shot of him before the paint starts? Are you going with a CW style paint scheme to blend in with Rex's troopers or some idea of your own?

I think that I will make it like Rex's troopers but with different colored markings. i am going to paint that hokey grey undergarment coloring back to a whitish with some grey detail lines. I was thinking an olive for the markings color. i will get a full shot of him before I start. You know, I just noticed that this figure's legs look alot like the sculpt for the cw arc trooper's legs.
