Coming in at 7 inches I was quite happy with this figure.
-
I like. Recipe?
-
Cool. I love it!
-
wow
he looks great
-
Nice. I too would like to see the recipe for this one. On the front page.
-
Recipe is the ToyRocket Mortal Kombat Goro, and Dexter Jester head, hands & feet. An old 1/12 Jedi belt & fabric for clothes & then AALOT of green stuff sculpt. Believe it or not sabers are made from chop sticks. Thx for the look.
-
Impressive!
-
looks really cool....
but, If he stands at 7" then he isn't 1:6th sale... that would mean he was 12 inches tall.
http://actionfigures.about.com/od/gettingstarted/a/action_figure_scales.htm
Star wars black series figures which stand at 6" tall are 1:12th scale (every inch of the figure represents 12 inches in a life sized figure).
Since krell did stand a little taller than his clones I'd call him a 1:12th scale, seeing as his extra inch would result in an extra foot of height if he was scaled up to full size.
All that being said, you made this from a standard 4inch, 1:18th scale dexter head right? Does the resulting figure's head look small when standing next to a black series figure? Just wondering how he'd look while standing next to the black series 6" clones that will be coming out.
the sabers from chop sticks are a great touch.
-
I think he meant six inch scale, heaven knows I have been doing this awhile and can't keep up with em either.
I like the look of it. I did guess correctly about the Mortal Kombat figure. I thought that one might work good for a Krell custom.
-
I confess, I'm no expert on size scales but I will say that the Dexter head was bigger than the original Goro head from ToyRocket so I don't see any major size issues, but again I'm a novice-newbie at best. Thx for the input guys.
-
Great job! If you can improve the lightsabers or acquire some extra 6" sabers then I would say he's complete.
-

I bet it's pretty close. But Dexter/krell's head was pretty large compared to the normal human head. It'd be interesting to see this one next to a 6" stormtrooper.
-
Here's what you asked for my friend, Krell & a black series trooper.
-
I like it. Working on one myself now, couldn't get my hands on a good goro figure, eBay had a $30 price tag I was not willing to pay. Did get a Dexter Jettster figure for $5, that was exciting. Love the figure, hope mine comes out half as nice.
-
Here's what you asked for my friend, Krell & a black series trooper.
it could be slightly bigger, but honestly it looks fantastic! I love it. After looking up some quick reference images from the clone wars episode he looks about right.
-
Mira Solo, perhaps turning to the Darkside to join Darth Cadeus.
-
Good custom what base figure did you use?
-
Annika Spy Lounge base
-
Wow. That Krell is magnificent. A shame we never got an actual figure for him. Even bigger shame he didn't last longer on the show.
And of course so is cleavage lady- er, I mean Mira Solo. Seriously, nice outfit.
-
Mira looks good on the front page.
-
Custom figure of my buddy who is a fire fighter & every year power lifts for the charity relentlessdetroit.com for young kids check it out or Goggle it.
-
Awesome figures! I really like the concept for Mira Solo! What's the recipe for her, if you don't mind me asking.
-
Sdcc Marian head, Annika Spy Lounge body, Padme black ceremonial dress arms.
-
Update is off to the front page.
-
Last on of these but here is a size comparison to a clone trooper.
-
I really like that Krell. You gotta be stoked with how that turned out.
-
Thx Clint, btw you will soon own him brother!
-
Whoa, another nice Krell rendition. I gotta try to make one of these...
-
Hardest thing is getting a good & affordable 4 arm base figure.
-
Btw Tamer, the Krell fig is for you & the casts for Clint, just to give back for all you both do, sorry my mistake I thought you & Clint were the same, I know, I'm a bit slow, sorry, sent items to Clint since I had his addy. Jim
-
If Clint and I were one person ah the trouble that person would get into. I take that as a compliment.
And the Krell is coming to me?! Wow! Thank you!
-
I know it's not Star Wars but I had seen the Deadpool Ape on a comic & had to make one.
-
This one made me laugh and made me think of a Deadpool/Planet of the Apes cross-over. Great work!
-
LOL! That is awesome. Time to feature it.
And we like customs from any action figure line. Yes, we love SW, but we like it all!
-
Thx guys!! I saw the comic book & had to make him.
-
This is about how frustrated I am with all the talk about Walgreens & their Star Wars exclusives!!
-
Ha! That Deadpool gorilla is awesome.
-
Getting ready to go Terminator on em! Hey is that a new custom?
-
New custom it is Tamer..........No Proto Boba's yet??!! I'll be back Walgreens!!!
-
Nice, more comments on the front page.
-
Whoa!
Did you sculpt that head, Dobiwan? (http://www.cosgan.de/images/smilie/figuren/a065.gif) (http://www.cosgan.de/smilie.php)
-
Head is a cast, got it from Tofu Jesse on Facebook, he has a ton if great stuff!!
-
When asked why I make custom figures, like Heisenberg I reply, I do it for me, I like it & I have a lot more work to do!!!! Reminds me how great the series was like the Birthday Challenge reminds us how great The Imperial Shipyard is!!
-
Well now James you just made my day with those comments. Thank you!
Update on the front page.
-
Arnold as Col. John Matrix in Commando!! Finally making use of my Arnold head casts.
-
Looks good on the front page!
-
Nice! I have a Dutch arnie head cast I was considering using with the same body.
-
Yes they are getting older but they are still a dynamic duo. I made Chewy a bit thicker & with the rumored bionic arm & Han a lil leaner with the cowboy style trench coat & side blasters.
-
That is really cool. Makes you wonder what they will look like.
-
Yepper, looks pretty spot on to me James. Off to share.
-
Nice!
Now I'm really looking forward to Ep. VII.
-
All great looking figures but I really do like the EPVII Han and Chewie well done indeed.
Ron
-
Meet the Solos: custom EPVII Anakin, Jaina & Kira Solo.....things are not as great as all thought they would be after the fall of the Empire. The Solo kids are Jedi but somehow land up living in the wastelands. I do hope they include so e Legacy characters in the new movie!!
-
Nice. Time for the front page.
-
After some research, Kira Solo has not been confirmed by any official source. She is only speculation based upon bits of leaks. Just for those who look and think, "who the heck is Kira?" So nobody get too wound up about anything yet. Anyway, nice figures, like the head choices, and neo-jedi look to them.
-
Nice update mate keep them coming.
Ron
-
Thx so much for the input, working on a few concept versions of the new villain of EP7.
-
Yes, I know the lightsaber is huge but I have a feeling so is the new villain, I could easily see him locking sabers with a Jedi & pulling the Anakin "no hands Dooku" maneuver with those side saber edges. And yes he's a cyborg too, who isn't in the SW universe!!
-
Pretty darn cool. I like the light saber its like a claymore.
-
I like the large saber too. Off to share.
-
Yes, I know the lightsaber is huge but ......
I wouldn't worry about the lightsaber. Original is always good. It's a big two-handed hilt but so is the one used by Darth Nihl from Star Wars Legacy. It's very cool as is your bad@55 Sith lord there.
-
yippee ki yay!!!! I finally got my order of Walgreens Proto Boba & foiled the plan of evil scalpers!! All good things come to those who wait. Yes I know the boba in the pic is red, but was too lazy to paint it.
-
Nice, on the front page.
-
After seeing the new SW teaser trailer I'm pretty happy with my rendition of the concept new villain!! Cannot wait for Dec 2015!!
-
I'm a big fan of the Walking Dead & can't wait til October but I think we can look at The Shipyards by taking a page from Michone when we look for places to post our customs of all types....."We need a home, rather than just being out there"
-
Nice, and yes we do like all genres here!
-
Sweet!
-
Looks like Rey will be our leading lady in Epi 7!!
-
I like it. Off to share.
-
Very nice i like the paint app
-
lately I have been a little "tooned" out so I thought to remake Hera Syndulla in a Vintage Style format & my vision of her outside of that flight suit!!
-
Awesome. I am working on something similar in my non cartoon version series.
-
lately I have been a little "tooned" out so I thought to remake Hera Syndulla in a Vintage Style format & my vision of her outside of that flight suit!!
Wow nice work! Can you say what torso you used?
And did you decide to change her... ahem proportions or are going to keep her more stylized like this?
-
Wow, that a version of her I haven't seen yet. Time to go share this. Two thumbs up from the Tamer!
-
I know I get mixed feedback on my female figures but all comic & movie heroes seem to have perfect or larger than life proportions so I like them that way too.....on that note, I loved The Flash Forward trick they used in the TV show Lost & Battlestar Galactica so maybe this will be Kira Solo in the new Star Wars, Jedi to Sith!!??!! Btw, I get ALOT of my parts & cast from Dennis at http://vortiouscustomaccessories.ecrater.com, if you have not seen his site you need to, & I don't normally promote things unless they are worth your time.
-
Ummm, wow.
Nice sculpting on those three females.
Any issues with their balance now? ;)
-
All my female figures can stand on their own even with their enhancements, lol, I just get tired of female figures getting jipped when most male figures look all roided out. Sadly most female figures have modest upper torsos making them look more like teens then women.
-
The word play here is over the top! Thanks for keeping everything PG folks. We do have a lot of kids who peruse these forums, my own included.
Off to share your latest work.
-
Those are indeed awesome. Which heads did you use on the Solo girls? I recognize the Leia one, but what figure is the other one from?
-
Thx for the comments, I like Sif from the Thor series for the new Rey Solo & always a big fan of this old Skool Baroness head, see pics
-
Ok, there was so much talk about the lack of articulation on the Force Awakens figures so I thought to make a quick series of simple customs that can turn your 5pt articulation figs into something worthy of adding to your custom collection.
I hollowed out the helmet of Captain Phasma & added a Juno Eclipse head & that came out great.
Here is a quick & simple Klyo Ren taking a page from GI Joe Cobra's Zartan. I tried to hollow out the Kylo head but like Phasma it's just too small so I just shaved off the face like Zartan's masks, used a Vintage Collection Palpatine head cloak & a head that looked liked Kylo & there you are a simple helmetless Kylo Ren without major surgery.
-
Cool. I just shared your Facebook Post on the front page.
Thank you for showing us how to do some of this. I hate the 5 POA. I am trying to like it for my daughters sake, but I hate em.
-
Turned out great. the mask idea makes a lot of sense.
-
The fall of Commander Cody & redemption of Captain Rex. . . . . Return of the Jedi on Endor
-
Yes! Nice job on the figures.
-
Great work, especially on the ROTJ Rex... :D
-
Well I had my first whoops of the day. I saw this in CH's casting thread and thought it was there by mistake. I will fix it. Sorry James. I did get this on the front page though! O0
-
Definitely one if my favorite sceens in the movie.
-
Pretty cool I do agree. I just saw this on our Facebook Page and posted it.
-
those are some very nice customs Dobiwan, really liked how Kylo and Cpt Phasma turned out
-
Great update ! Especially the vader in the Bacta tank !
