Hyperlink suggestion

(1/2) > >>

Psyclone:
Not sure if this has been covered anywhere or not but I think it would be good to have it as a default where the hyperlinks show up in a different color and/or underlined so that people know it's a link in a post.  For example, if I want to put a link I now just post the whole URL so that people know it's a link, otherwise it just looks like text unless you happen to scroll over it.  Maybe I'm missing something.

psyclone, here is how you can do this,

http://www.imperialshipyards.net/SMF/index.php?topic=1192.0;topicseen

above, you see a normal unaltered hyperlink after the posting of this entry. It looks different as you are writing the post. Now if you make these alterations you will have a colored hyperlink with the text and color of your choosing.
When writing your post, use the hyperlink insertion control at the top of the page you are posting in, insert your link as usual, then make these alterations.

first, remove the second bracket "]" after the first "url" and replace it with "="
Now, put that bracket "]"in front of the first bracket in front of the second url
Now, after that"]" bracket you just placed, put this, "[ color=blue ]"
then I will name the link "hyperlink suggestion"
now, type this "[/ color ]"
the quotes are to be ignored except for explanation purposes. the space on either side of the brackets to the code arnt supposed to be there but I placed them there so that you could see the code.

If you have done it right, it should look and work like this.

Thanks.  I am aware of how to do it using copy and pasting html but was wondering if it could be set by the forum script somehow as a default setting so that it would be quicker than making all those modifications.

Phatty:
Actually, no.  The forum does not have settings to adjust the color or links like that, as it would make it MUCH easier!  Sorry!

No problem, just thought I'd ask.  Again, guys, great work on the site.
