That was an awesome video! I posted in your collection thread as well I think, but just wanted to echo here you have some great touches and I like how you are almost selling the figure like the price is right! haha Very good camera skills to who ever is filming as well as editing and production. Awww, tyvm Phatty ;) I usually try to keep a MOC collection, except for ships or vehicles which are easy to box up...and if there's a certain figure I want customized or just really like I buy 2 so I can open 1 :-[

Well now I have to agree with Pat that seeing a female perspective on our chosen hobby is indeed refreshing and I do hope you continue your reviews as I have one little gal I plan to show this to when she gets home this evening. I am going to do everything in my power to show her that this can be a girl's hobby too and you are sure going to help me in my diabolical plan.
I must also say it is nice to have a carded collector amongst the horde of openers I am constantly called out by so I am hoping you can run some interference for me when they get after me to open my goodies.
As for future casts I would love to see an overall video of that awesome looking collection room, but would change nothing in regards to your video transitions which I quite liked. As for the figure review itself I would love to hear another carded collectors perspective on the art of the packaging (would love to hear your take in our general hasbro thread on the 2012 packaging too btw) and feel free to show me the back of the card as some of the figures you reviewed I haven't seen on the shelf yet (like the Hevy) as it sure would give me more to go on when I hit the pegs. I think some folks might not like the fact that you don't have the figure loose when you review it when you talk about things like accesories or articulation to actually show them those things while you review, but for carded colletors like myself I have no issues whatsoever.
That might be a longer critique than you were wanting, but I was thoroughlly impressed with your video and have subscribed (not something I do on a whim), lets just say I am not sure I could pull something like that off myself without the talented folks we have here to help me out from time to time. And if you are taking requests besides reviews for future segments I would love to hear a gal's take on the SW Collecting Hobby and how you got into this yourself. Once again welcome to the Yards and if I may be so bold I would love to hear how you found us sometime.

I'm so glad to hear positive feedback, was a little worried coming in. You know a chick doing a dude's job ;) That's cool if your liitle girl is into Star Wars, it's totally not a boys only hobby with Padme, Ahsoka, and Leia to mention a few. If she has any questions just send them my way, I'd be happy to help the lil Padawan!
The critique was thorough, and appreciated much. As far as how I came to be a fangirl myself, A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
I remember watching Returm of the Jedi for the first time at 3. I fell in love with that Wookie at first sight ;D Anytime after that when Star Wars was on, I was watching. But I didn't start collecting & really getting into it until Clone Wars, that was the Epic moment for me. Once I saw Ahsoka for the first time, I was truly hooked. It was like someone animated me. There's a character for everyone, and the story/morals are one's everybody should live by...how can you not love it ;)
As far as ideas for the show, I'm always accepting. Thanks for subscribing and the fantastic review!!!

We just taped Episode 3, whewheww!!! It's gonna be an awesome episode with some great customs submitted for Custom Cargo ;D Plus a new installment of Hot Off the Millineum Falcon bbfet I'm also really excited because I got a new phone, he's a Droid :P Looking forward to getting some Toy hunts on film!!!

Well once again another great video. I want to thank you for providing such great props to the ISY members in your videos. I feel like a proud papa seeing my Yarders getting some public recognition. I don't know what you did to find us, but I am already very appreciative that you have.
I too liked the two pack review and like how you cover every little facet of your videography from the Wookie shirt you had on to the downright awesome commercials and voice effects. It is extremely hard for me to believe how professional these videos are. Keep it up please!

I don't consider mine "showcase-able" since my main thing is just head & accessory swaps. (since I seem to rarely ever finish the more ... ambitious projects) That's why I've not ever approached DarthDaddy, either. I mean, if someone buzzes thru my thread and finds stuff they particularly like and *want* to showcase, I'm open to being approached.
Now, once I get Production Platform 3 running full-tilt, I might approach you about showcasing the resin casts I'll be turning out!

Unfortunately no Spooky ??? They just sent me a computer generated message, which said I had copyrighted material(Clone Wars theme) and material that wasn't Family safe, lol!!! I told them before they reviewed it about the theme, which was modified for Episode 3 with my "own" music, but they removed the episode. So, we're editing it again for reload ;D Out of all the shows, I had the most clothes on in this one, and I don't do raunchy material...so whatever?
P.S. If you try to look up the Family Friendly guidelines for Youtube...they do not have any written guidelines, other than no nakedness ;D

BTW - I started compiling a list of the guys on here that you should keep an eye on... but then it occurred to me that all I was doing was generating a list of members with more than 5 posts!! ;D
But seriously! Watching your vids brings up a question. How much pre-planning do you put into each episode? Do you sit down and work out a script (detailed or not), list of shots you want, and so on? I'm sure you can see - if you happen to watch my casting vid I just uploaded - that I take the "by the seat of my pants" approach, even tho my filmmaking class taught me that is WRONG! ::) But your episodes are so polished that I assume either you deliberately put a lot of time into each one or that you do vid-production for a living and have gotten to the point you just automagically THINK in filming style.

I have a suggestion I thought about right before I went to sleep last night. Would you mind if I picked out a couple of the great customs we have seen here on the Yards within a time frame you designate (I could send you one to two pics with info per week or more depending on your schedule) and I would handle all of the emailing. Jenn I could easily send you probaby five a week or more if you want more, but I don't want this to be a hassle for you as we just appreciate the exposure you give our fine folks.
As per the yanks, methinks someone is probably trying to drop a dime as your videos rock pretty much anything out there and no doubt someone who is very green (and I am not talking St. Patricks Day here) feels a bit inferior with their own videos compared to yours. Please don't let that stop the great videos you are doing. They really are great.
Drop me a pm about my idea. I won't be in the least offended if you don't like it.

@Doc - Thank you :) As far as the process, it's pretty detailed and planned out. We start writing the show as soon as we finish filming the previous one. We do not have shot lists, but everything else is pre-planned from the commercials to the customs!!! I pretty much am always thinking about the show and segments or skits to do. Lol, believe it or not Episode 1 was shot in the "fly by the seat of your pants" style as well(every other episode was written). Sometimes that is when the best work is done ;D We do put a lot of time in to them about a week for 1 installment, I wish I was working in the field. Thanks so much again for watching :)

I do the notebook thing too - ideas for customs, casting masters, story ideas, and so on go in.
Glad you like what I've managed to pull together so far. I think I'll spend time pre-planning my next vid a bit more. I also bought "daylight" bulbs for the lights in PP-3, so next time things won;t be so ... dingy yellow. That'll be an improvement right there!

Oh, yes, they do on both accounts. Keke (10) has made a number of customs, including a mini-rig, and does a lot of my photography work. I'm thinking I may need to let her start handling my *video* work, as well!! yeesh... Lonnie (6) has until just recently been content to watch me make my customs and to play with her "figgers" - but that changed. She beat me to the first Hevy we'd seen and declared she was gonna customize him herself. If Hevy ever has to hide in a Jackson Pollack painting, he'll be bloody-well invisible. (puir barstid!)
Keke knows the OT movies as well as the PT ones, but Lonnie only really knows the PT ones. We may have to remedy that deficit this weekend.

Well I waited two hours for the dial up to load so I could watch this and once again enjoyed every second of it. Jenn you are doing a bang up job and I appreciate you featuring the Yarders here. I also love the sound of doing some cross-over work and Jenn has already agreed to doing a special podcast on her tube videos and now I hope her customs. I could also see us sending bits and pieces of video on certain topics to one another for upload into our next Youtube videos we might be doing on certain things as another way to promote to great artistry we see happening here.

Altho I mean - producing what amounts to a 7-minute tv show every week in your spare time? That's ambitious, especially given you have how many support-crew? 1? I know just enough about movie-making to know that writing a script, converting it to a shooting script, filming the shots, and editing everything together - the show itself *and* the commercials! - is time-consuming. The fact that you pull off videos like Jules pulls off graphic novels - ie: very high quality - typically means there's an increased time-commitment, as well. So, no matter how much material you have to use - and extra material to work with is always good! - I'd be willing to bet the 7-minute range is about all you can really afford the time to make.
Thanks for making the huge investment of time to entertain us!

I didn't realize how much time I spend casting until I started trying to film a tutorial and discovered I was over 20 minutes from intro to setting the molds aside for curing.

I've been watching Resin casting tutorials...but I guess I'm a stupid girl ;) I'd really like to see a step by step process, I can't even find the materials :'(

If you have a Hobby Lobby close-by, start there. Look for the model-kits aisle then side-step one or two aisles (varies by store) and look for the tall metal rack of Alumilite products. This is frequently adjacent to the tools pegs where they keep the X-acto/Excel hobby knives and the like. You can get everything you need right here. Personally, I use the Alumilite resin that is found several more aisles over, with the soap & candle molding products, but Clint uses the resin back over where you started and we both get good results. (I'm seeing the inside of the closest HL store as I write this)
There are two mold-making silicones on the rack in very similar boxes - Quick-Set and High Strength III. For our purposes, heads and helmets - lots of detail and significant undercuts, we use the HSIII. I think I may have some applications coming up where the Quick-Set will work fine, but that's a ways out just yet. The "quick-start kits" have Quick-Set in them, so I recommend NOT getting one of them. Get a box of HSIII and a box of the resin - both come with a couple of mixing cups and stirring sticks. You should also pick up some disposable plastic cups, like 5oz Dixie cups. If you want, I can post a quick vid showing how I don't even use the measuring cup on the HSIII when I pour up a new mold. (hint - the 5oz Dixie cup has ridges and one of them matches up exactly to 2oz of HSIII - fill to that ridge then mix in the B-part/catalyst)
I *think* we are making the trek down to the nearest HL tomorrow for some other reasons, so if you'd like, I could take a pic of the aisles & the Alumilite rack so you have something to go by. If you don;t have a Hobby Lobby, I think Michael's Arts & Crafts carries the same material, as well - really any A&C store should. If not, hit up alumilite.com and you'll see a huge selection of stuff. Mind-boggling, really.
It's a lot of fun - but it gets bloody expensive...

regarding the painting you don't need a copy of the mag for I can provide you the orginal and printable file used for the cover or even the version before the image was slightly stretched to meet the format restrictions ;) my original Boba is a bit sturdy...

Well he used the female stormtrooper breast plate and I would just sculpt that look on a CW clone. I would need a CW backpack though. Then what would be even cooler is to sand down an Ashoka head and add Barones's hair to it. Then you would have an all CW look.

lol, I'd forgotten all about that figure to be honest! Probably cuz it's from a while back and not even a "star wars" inspired fig, it was supposed to be my take on the MU black widow. Glad you like it!

Actually I used the head from agent helix with the hair from a baroness figure. I hate the baroness' head sculpt in the movie line of joe figures, but the rest of the figure is pretty usefull. For the rest of the figure the main body/arms are that of the Marvell Universe black widow with the legs from the agent Helix gi-joe figure. I also re-built the elbow joint in the MU figure so that it was a swivel peg instead of a strait swivel joint with no rotation.... if I remember correctly I have swapped that head out for a different one on the figure. If I can find it in my fodder box I might wind up using it on something else.

I have a modded female stormie torso on a animated clone body.. never got around to finishing her.. I wonder if I have a Helix head somewhere... hmmm...

Found my Female clone body, found my Helix head, but I didn't have any long flowing female hair, only had some Wrestler hair and it was too big for the lil' head, so I went a different route, lol...

Definitely cool! You know the EE exclusive ysanne isard figure would work wonderfully for a Wookielover1138 custom. Paint out her white streak making her hair solid black, adjust the eyes and there you go. The Juno Eclipse pilot body (open jacket with white blouse) would work pretty well and definitely goes with Wookielover's style. Maybe swap out Juno's sleeved arms for Mara Jade's sleeveless arms and add the shoulder tattoo(s) in. Hmmm I think that recipe works! Definitely a good resemblance! and if Jenny ever cuts her hair you could always swap on a Dorovio Bold head for a more "boyish" hairdo.
Feel free to use the recipe! I think it'd work smashingly!
Oh, and I really really want to get one of those pink Jenny clone figures! Please make a run of these someone!!!

I loved the ISY commercial and the info you gave about our TCW talk. I did enjoy that a lot. I listened to it in my travels yesterday and we sounded pretty daggone good. I am not sure I can handle that much higher level thinking all the time, but wow it is nice to talk SW with folks who understand the subject. Thanks for giving the way to find that too.
I plan on finding some time to go check out your website too. I will get that added to our hyperlinks page the next time we do an update. That Death Star Commercial was over the top too and Boba's Biography. You are one creative lady. Kessel Run Imports does a bang up job too.

Using the spendy glossy paper, I printed a version of the KRR card set that has much higher quality and truer color than the first batch I produced. So it looks like I will be able to make some really nice sets.
I'm really liking the ISY trading card series idea, lots of possibilities.

Since there was some interest, we are going to make the first set of 6 KRR trading cards available.
The back features an image puzzle. Cards are handmade with a card stock center.
Pictured below are two variations, the only difference being one set has a a glossy front. The paper to make the glossy versions costs almost a buck a sheet but they do look even crisper and brighter than the matte version.

OMG best episode ever! And not because you feature my space pirates--well not only because of that :) I swear your hosting abilities grow ten fold each episode! You seem much more relaxed and at ease during the shooting which is really hard! Stage fright is more common than one might think! That being said, what a perfect review of the Laughing Shadow crew! Short, concise, and we were able to get the whole plot/story in under 2 minutes! Bravo! Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity and the guest spot on the show! So in other news: I hear there's a seasoned smuggler that keeps appearing in the Star Wars Universe. To quote Han Solo as he was being held up at gun point, "Oh great it's her somehow she always manages to show up at all the wrong moments..." And who was it he was referring to? Why none other than the notorious gun running smuggler queen, Jenn'yy Shah. That's right, she knows Solo from waaay back and always seems to appear at the worst possible moments (for Solo).
In other words your custom is ready and with a full back story! :)

They presented me with a Mando Warehouse T-shirt and found Chewbacca on the loose, so they turned him over to my custody 0/ He's settled in nicely and really likes the studio, but boy can he be a handful if he doesn't get his way ;) If you get a chance they have funny photo stories on Facebook under Dewback Phil and the Mando Warehouse sells Joe and SW figures 0/

I'm getting pretty good at "dodging" the music, I am learning when to turn the volume down (music) and turn it up to normal for your dialog.....
I would love more OT but I also understand I am on a mostly PT/EU site as well and so I should expect it to generate PT/EU media, so I have to learn to adapt.....
Also I should add that I enjoy something on each episode and I watch every one of them I have been subscribed since episode #2!

What a great tribute to Mike. I didn't know Mike extremely well, but this has really struck home with me. I am not in a very good mood today and just feel at a loss to deal with such a senseless tragedy. This video sure has helped. I loved your message at the end about not drinking and driving. I so hope we can send a sizeable donation to Hollie and what will be two children.

when someone drinks and drives and hurts themselves I have little to no sympathy, when someone who is totally innocent is killed or hurt by a jackass drunk driver it really pisses me off. I didnt know Mike and I had very little if any contact with him, but I cant help but feel oh so sorry for his entire family when his life was cut so short (he was 28) by something that could have been so easily avoided if that drunk ass hole would have just called a taxi or slept it off in his back seat.....I hate to sound like a complete jerk, but I hope that drunk died as well.....

It is sad and defiantely hits home for me. I had never met Mike, but we talked pretty much everyday about SW, customs, food, our families, etc, and it feels like I've known him for a long time. He was a great guy and friend to many in the community and it's so sad this had to happen, I hope the driver gets what he deserves and I'm sure Hollie will do everything in her power to make that happen.

This Episode is ofcourse now my favorite. I am gonna have to have the 12 inch Taun Taun with Han and I would guess Luke too eventually. I loved seeing the potf2 walker review. Boy those Hoth dios are just outstanding. Each has design elements I would love to recreate in my Dio area one day.
That being said, how you think of every little detail, from the wardrobe down to the 7 day blizzard forecast is just phenomenal.

That is really cool because in the past few years I have gotten to be very expermental with cooking and found some fun, interesting and unusual combinations, but I have avidly been looking for new ideas for reciepies and dishes, my wife is loving it cause I surprize her all the time.

That is a really awesome video. Many times when you see vids like this it's random stuff tossed in to music but you did a wonderfull job of matching music to action and vice versa. Great work.

Thanks Shawn, you're the best :D I try to check in as often as possible, but my new job has been crazy busy & now I'm interviewing people and the Office Manager while my boss is away!!!
