Here are some mini busts I did
-
A couple more shots
-
They are superb...You need to make a custom chess set!
-
Jules, that is a fantastic idea! I'm going to start looking for Bust-Ups for it now!
-
Maybe a Droid Army vs Clone set?
-
Hmmmm..I was thinking Empire vs Republic, or Sith vs Jedi...
Empire Pawns: Stormtroopers/EP III Clones
Republic Pawns: EP II Phase 1 Clones
Just thinking a bit...definitely something I want to explore!
-
out of all the clones i kinda have a soft spot for the 5th fleet... he looks great!! glad you chose to do him :)
-
Mine too! The 5th Fleet Security is such an easy paint scheme to do, yet is so sharp and effective!
-
awesome bust ups!! I love the red shock trooper.
-
The shadow trooper has always been my favorite.
Nice bust- ups, Pat!
-
Oh, these are not Bust-Ups, but full size Mini-Busts!
-
Hello Phatty, Thanks for clearing that up I thought these were mini busts. Great work here, sharp lines on the clones. I love that shadow clone and the 5th Fleet the most.
-
Thanks Luke! I like doing these the best! You can REALLY get some great detail in them this way. I'd love to get my hands on more white clones to do more customs on, jsut gotta be patient and look for the killer deals on them. I try and get them for around $20.
-
cool bust phat!
-
I like the shadow stormie. :)
-
Thanks guys! I'd love to get my hands on more of these to do customs of, but they're a bit more than the average clone trooper figure. I plan on keeping my eyes peeled this summer at the various conventions!
-
you did a great job mate
the paintjob is extremely good
-
Ok, I have 2 of those Gentle Giant Classics Busts of the Clone Trooper Lieutenant, as shown below. I am going to customize these two, but I want all of your help in deciding how! Give me suggestions, along with photos (preferably more than one view) of the clone you think I should make, and then I'll start a poll. The winning 2 suggestions will get made up! Keep in mind, my sculpting prowess is less than admirable, and I SUCK at freehand painting, so painting designs is not going to happen! I know, but that's what happens when you're dealing with an amateur!

apsalutely amazing busts loving the art work on them well done mate ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
phatty, I have never seen these mini-busts before... are they similar in size to 2.75" figs? if so you don't need to do any sculpting at all, just slice off whatever part you want from a figure and tansfer it to the bust. for example any range finders or packs or anything like that could easilly be kit bashed from an actual figure.
-
I love the shot with the Fifth Fleet trooper and the 501st Trooper! Great customs so far, Pat!
-
Devin, these are approximately 4"-5" tall on their own, bigger than the action figures.
Thanks for the kind words, guys! Now send me some suggestions!
-
I know if I had one I would make a Gree. Good luck and can anyone get these or do you have to be a member of the collectors club?

Nope they were free, just about ten bucks in shipping from ups. We have a link up in our GG thread. I don't know if they have any more or not.
-
There were the other day. I'm thinking about ordering a couple more myself! I saw somewhere else that a guy had over 6 of them he had customized. I REALLY want to try a Cody.
-
It looked like they had them the other night, but I think they were back to full price... I didnt try to buy another....
The wife is mad enough already....
-
I believe I shall be doing one as Clone Trooper Denal. I was looking at figures on the pegs this evening, and like the simple, yet distinctive armor. I am also considering Gree, and Plo Koon's clones from Abregado. I'm just afraid I'll screw up the patterns on their shoulders on those...
-
Go for it, Pat. I would think at that scale, those shoulder designs on the Plo Koon clones might go a bit easier.
-
Easier than the 3 3/4" scale, for sure. However, my hands aren't as steady, my drawings not so clean. Still, that's what paint and primer are for, so if I screw it up all to Hell, I can start over. In any case, I need to draw it out before I start, obviously, so we'll see how it goes. I need to find me a paint of that maroon color. Any suggestions?
-
I use a model master acrylic rust that should be real close to that color. It's the same color I used on my custom commander ponds and incinerator trooper figures.
-
I like the shadow stormtrooper. Good job!
-
These are really great!
-
Well, I worked on one of my Classics Busts. I wanted to do a camo theme, and I'm not really all THAT happy with what I've turned out. This was a trial run because I have another project in mind that requires a LOT of camo work. I can't come close to what Clint can do, so I have to find my own style. Anyway, here he is. No name or backstory, just a camo-clone.
First Layer: Flat black for his undersuit, and Glossy Black armor:

Finally, I added in some black and grey definition lines:

-
Great custom ;D
-
wow that looks awesome
great job Phatty 10/10
-
those look sick phatty!
-
How did I miss this one? I really like the color you used on the visor. I see tamyia paints in the background. Is that what you are using on this one?
-
Thanks everyone!
Yes, all the paints I've used on this one were Tamiya paints. I find a much greater variety in their paint colors, so I'm playing with some different variations. I think I'm gonna need a tutorial from you, Clint, on how to do a GOOD camouflage paint job before I start my next project...
-
Great custom!
-
Good looking bust Pat. Looks tough. On the front page, don't know how I missed this either.
-
Wow, that is like a modern art camo clone. I like it! That visor really rocks!
-
thanks to you all! I love working in this larger scale, it allows for so much more detail!
