The Vintage Collection 2010 AT-AT Commander
« on: July 02, 2010, 09:17:56 AM »
AT-AT Commander

Well there is no information on the card anymore. It's just the same text on every Vintage packaging:
"Celebrate the legendary Star Wars saga that changed the universe forever! This collection brings to life the incredible story of good versus evil that captured our imagination and took us to a galaxy far, far away. Ironic Star Wars heroes and villains are captured with incredible detail and premium features to commemorate each epic tale in the Star Wars saga. May the Force be with you!"

Veers recruited only the best pilots to serve in his Thundering Herd AT-AT squadron.  (wookieepedia)

The figure:
It's a new figure and it is number 05 of the new 2010 Vintage collection. The detailing is just awesome.

The accessories:
The figure comes with a standard E-11 blaster (nothing new on this one), a removable chest plating, a removable helmet and also with removable snow or protective goggles. The figur includes also a working holster for the E-11.

The articulation:
*ball-jointed neck
*ball-hinged shoulders
*ball-hinged elbows
*swivel wrists
*swivel waist
*swivel hips
*ball-hinged knees
*ball-hinged ankles

so very good articulation on this figure

The rating:
The figure is really nice and a great addition to every imperial army. The only thing I don't like is that the removable goggles are to tight for the helmet, but that is not a big problem.
All in all a great figure and a must-have for every imperial collector or army builder and mybe a good base for some customs.

rating: 9/10

Wow, this one sounds great. I don't like the sound of the goggles, but you didn't make it sound too bad. Thanks for the review and it will soon be on our fp.

By the looks of your pictures, you were able to make the goggles work anyway.  You didn't have to heat them up or anything did you?

Thanks for the review.

Very nice review. That would be the perfect armor piece for a legacy style snow ops rex figure.
Gotta have this one.

Tamer:
Thank you very much for the fp Shawn

B.R. Steel:
It works but it's a bit to thight for the helmet. My tip is to put the goggles over fis face that looks the best in my opinion.

Clonehead:
That is a great idea Clint. A  realistic Snow Rex figure would be awesome.

Dengar was one of the characters I always wanted to learn more about, and later got just that in the Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy.
He always reminded me of a mix of old Snowtrooper and Stormtrooper armor.
The new sculpt looks great and I look forward to it.
The removable pieces of the AT-AT CDR... helmet and chest piece look very usefull for customs... I might have to get one of these.
Great job, FF.

Nice review FF!
As do I. It is our lot in life, Master. Shall we find something to kill to cheer us up?

Pics
In the last shot, you can see how much trouble It would be to get the goggles to fit over the helmet to be worn Veers-style.

Looking forward too this one as well.

The goggles could be fixed with a little work.
Cut them in the middle, apply glue to the start of the band and place on helmet.
Then where the cut is and the space is now you could use kneadatite or even heat shrink to fill in the gap.
