Favorite Music Genre and Band

Just a topic for leisure, I was wondering what your guys favorite band was, and was genre it was located in?

For me, it is definitely Rock 'n Roll, and my favorite band is a popular band, in which two of its members come from my hometown:  Poison.

That's some old school tunes for a guy your age, to be listening to, Dan. That's what I like to see.
I too, am a rock and roll nut but listen to stuff from the 50s to the 90s. Sometimes it just depends on my mood.
Yesterday, I had a cd of Slash's Snakepit going in the car. The two that Slash made in between GnR and Velvet Revolver, came out in the late 80s or early 90s and are both good but that second one is certainly worth checking out. I don't play much anymore but there was a time when I played guitar quite a bit so at times, I favor the guitar heavy bands.

For me my tastes run the gamut,  mainly though I stick with a heavier rock, such as Rob Zombie, Zak Wylde, Rammstein, Metallica,  but also like 50s, 60's 80's, odd eclectic hotrod type, surf type,  almost anything but old country western and rap.

To be honest, I really wouldn't listen to the music many people listen to today, being

My favorite is Alternative, though I'll listen to almost anything but Country.  I hate country.  It is absolutely horrible.  If you need a pick me up, just play any country song backwards, and you sober up, get a new job, and your dog comes back to life.  Seriously.  In any case, my favorite band of all time is Everclear.  I've seen them probably 8 times or so.  I'm also a huge fan of The Offspring and Foo Fighters.

I suppose mine would be matal punk emo alternative. Paramore is the best.
