Hello everyone, I thought I would introduce myself and show off some of my work.
I have been an avid reader of Imperial Shipyards for a little over a year and have been a big fan of the great customizers here. I've been a Star Wars fan since it all started and a toy lover since I could crawl. I've been really customizing for about 2 years, but I've been building models and painting toys and things for a long time.
I want to thank the guys who run this forum, for allowing guys like me to show off the work we all do.
Here is my main custom gallery: http://picasaweb.google.com/mypronmedia
I'm currently working on a repaint of the Hasbro AT-TE
Here are some direct links to just my Star Wars items.

Wow, Stenhunter!! Welcome to the Shipyards! You have some really great stuff. I love your paint apps to the ATTE parts and especially the ATST. Great weathering job there. That looks like the work of a military modeler. I thought that JSF turned out great and I love that you trouble shot the paint job on photo shop prior to paint application. I really like how the ATTE combat team turned out and I think the look of the concept fett with the blue paint is striking. Those quad cannons turned out great! I like how Ysanne turned out and especially like the wash that you used on her uniform.
I like that null arc and really like how his cape turned out!
That ATHT is really cool. Have I seen your stuff on the Cusom Allience before?
Thanks so much for showing us your stuff, Stenhunter!! More customizers are always welcome here!
I seen the ship model, the firetruck, and a mech model in your gallery. Good job on those. What other models do you like to build? Cars? Military?
-
StenHunter, welcome welcome welcome! The fact that you've been hanging around for so long and enjoy what we have to offer here is exactly what drives us! I'm glad you decided to finally jump on in and post some pictures of your fantastic customs! By all means, keep sharing them, and we'll build you a page dedicated all to YOUR customs and showcase them here at ISY! If you need anything, feel free to drop us a line!
-
Thanks for the great feedback Clonehead and Phatty. I'm just happy that there are places for customizers to show off their work.
Have I seen your stuff on the Cusom Allience before?
Yes, I've been on the Custom Alliance page for about 2 years. My first custom was a custom Gunship. It was the first "toy" I had really tired to customize. I didn't have nearly the tools and resources I have now.
http://www.thecustomalliance.com/sederquist/gunship.asp
CA Gallery:
http://www.thecustomalliance.com/sederquist/default.asp
What other models do you like to build? Cars? Military?
I am mostly a sci-fi model maker. One of my first was a Star Destroyer that I got about 15 years ago. I have a (fiber optic light up) Falcon and a druid snail tank that are in my queue to build sometime this summer. I've been trying to get my son into model building (hence the firetruck) but he is only 4.5 and not as interested in the hobbie yet as I am.
Phatty, thanks for offering to put up a page for me. Knowing I am in such great company means I have to up my game. =)
Clonehead: I love your clones man.. nuff said there. Awesome molds, and paint apps.
-
I like that gunship on your CA gallery, SH! It rocks! Is that an extra gunpod that you mounted below the wing?
I too had a page up on CA for a year or two but can't find it anymore. I guess Curto forgot about me.
Yeah, like I said, the more custom guys here, the merrier. And thanks for the compliment on the clones, buddy!
-
Yep I have extra gun pod mounts under each wing. They are from the Clone Pilot pack. I mounted them and ran some tubing to them. I also have an extra set of cannons from the red clone sgt pack. Someday I want to go back and redo some of it with what I've learned in the last 2 years.
I guess my next goal is to master the resin mold. I did some molds for my tanks and those came out great but I would need to figure out helmets and armors before taking on that job.
Thanks!
-
Once again, that is one awsome gunship!
I just made a new thread about resin casting in the customs resources section.
resin casting thread (http://www.imperialshipyards.net/SMF/index.php?topic=476.0)
Hopefully it will help you out. If you have any questions, just ask.

Welcome Sten Hunter,
You have done some really nice looking pieces. Thanks for sharring them here. I also like to scavange parts from the Elite forces line, I see a few mixed in on your tank, that basic platform of the elite tank offers a customizer alot of options, plus they are reasonably priced. I used a few from the raft on my swamp speeder and used teh guns as side cannons on a few ATATs. The custom figures turned out well and and are imaginative.
-
Daggane this place is going customizing crazy! I love it! Sten Hunter, welcome to the yards. Ofcourse I am loving the heavy weaponry on that AT-HT. I thought I recognized some of those weapons too Sarge! Welcome to the yards and thanks for adding your pictures. As Phatty has hinted, we are planning for doing some dedicated pages for all the great custom things we have posted here so forum members can have easy access to all thier great items on one page.
-
I really like AT ST and Isard !
Great Job !
-
Awesome use of those cheap corps vehicles! no offense but I think I'm going to have to steel that tank idea. I've been staring at that corps tank wondering wtf I could do with one...
And the wookie bounty hunter rocks! I love it! It could be a bit more beefy in the midsection but otherwise it's an amazing use of parts. I am curious how posible the head is?
-
The head could turn slightly, but that was about it. thanks everyone for the great feedback.
I've been un-customizing for a while and playing some Eve Online. However, I'm going to cut out some more time this coming June for more. I have an elite corps tank in my closet that I'm going to do, and I have to finish the AT-TE for sure. I also want to do some more vehicles...
-
I will be looking forward to that SH!
-
I can't wait to see what that ATTE looks like. Good to see you back Stenhunter.
-
Not Star Wars related, but started work on an easy repaint for a friend of mine who worked on the latest Transformers 2 Movie.
I bring you Starscream!

Starscream TF2 2009 -WIP
I hope to be done by the weekend (Wife & Kids permitting)
-
everything looks great. Is that atte going to be standard collors with a custom paint job on it or is it going to be a special set of colors from a different design scheme?
Are you going to paint the alien tattoos on starscreem like he has in the movie? I think that'd put it over the top. I know they made the toy with them but with your custom paint job so far it'd look killer.
keep up the good work.
-
Thanks for the great word Spudfett!
Colors are always a hard question... I'm leaning towards standard F-22 colors with gold and silver highlights in the undercarriage assembly/robot areas. Though I was thinking of adding some of the older Red and Blue in there somewhere to pay honor to the old starscream. Though I don't know how much or where yet.
I have not yet decided if I'm going to apply the tattoo's that he has in the new movie. I think that if I do, there will be much fewer as I agree with you that they went over the top with them.
I might just go with a more weathered and real look though.
-
Nice work, Sten! Give us some more shots when your done, please.
-
Done, now I just have to ship it to my buddy.

Have a great weekend everyone.. time to work on my Speeder now!

niiice... but does it transform? I checked out your gallery and didn't see any vehicle mode pics. Is this one of them "robot replica" figures? Either way it is a GREAT repaint and highly detailed.
I've seen alot of realy cool repainted transformer figs around the net since the new movie came out. this is up there with the best of the one's I've viewed.
I probably wouldn't have the patience to paint a full sized transforming figure.... It's enough to have to paint it in one mode let alone make sure all the patterns still look good in the transformed vehicle or robot mode. What I'd realy like to know is how they design the dang things to begin with! I think they have some super duper oragami crazy genious or something locked away somewhere who comes up with the designs and transforming patterns....
-
Most impressive custom work!
-
Wow!! that looks killer!
-
very nice! Very detailed!
-
Great customs there, I especially like the figures, the tank is also very exciting. I love anything like that, I'd love to see it in full Imperial/Republic colours....
Also to say welcome, I'm fairly new here myself, and the guys here have been really supportive and show a great interest in anything new, so please post more when you get the chance.
All the best,
Jules

It's a "robot replica". I had planned to use a deluxe fully transformable Starscream for this, but found that even though it would have been cool to do it may not have fit the project. Which was to create a custom for my buddies desk. The Robot Replica's make a great alternative to the larger transformable ones and provide a lot more detail even if they can't transform.
Thanks for all the great feedback everyone.

I just scored the mother load!!
My Mother called me and said.. "Son, we found a box of your toys.. and we are sending them to you because well, we don't want them.."
I was very happy to find a decent box waiting for me when I got home today. It contained almost all of my GI Joe collection from when I was a kid. I think there may be at least one more box lost somewhere at my parents house, and who knows they may find it in the next few years and send it along.
Anyway! The good part.. I now have more weapons, backpacks, helmets and various fodder parts to keep me happy for the next 10 years. I have some decent vehicles in fairly good shape, and some classic large vehicles in ok shape. I'll post pics as I dig through the box.
Tonight I was able to get through "the Joe's" and their gear. Tomorrow night I'll go through the vehicles. For your viewing pleasure and nostalgia.
In the below pics you can see weapons, backpacks, missiles, helmets, figures with loose hips, and figures with tight hips. In the background you can see the Snow Cat, and the Cobra glider as well as two cycles and the Manta mail away sail board. I couldn't believe I still knew how to assemble some of this stuff.

-
Nice nostalgic score there. I don't remember that alternate side car for the joe cycle. I just remember the gun one.
-
Cool find.
Lots of fun guaranteed.
My son found a bunch of my old stuff when staying with grandma and grandpa during the summer break and brought it back.
Now his room looks even more like mine when I was a kid.
-
any chance you'd wanna part with that cobra claw?
nice stuff there. My parents would probably just throw my old stuff away if they found it at this point. Heck last two moves I made with my familly alot of my stuff got donated to charity or sold in yardsales.... of course I never was big into action figures as a child anyway, legos was where it was at for me!

Let me see what I have for vehicles and then what I'm going to part with and keep. You're on the list though for the claw if I part with it..
-
Mypron,
Nice customs. That was a great find by mom. Mine sold all of my old stuff. I might be a female but I had tons of Joes and Star Wars. But growing up MOTU was mine and my twins thing. My mom got rid of all of it for cheap. Yardselling was always our worst nightmare. We would hide our stuff and she'd always find it. She had a nose for money. LOL Oh, and Spuda your mom couldn't have sold too much at a yard sale LOL You brought most of your stuff from home two years ago. haha
I really liked your tank custom and the starscream is outstanding. Great paint job on it. I am looking forward to what else you have in store.
-
Ah that brings back memories of a bad school trip to the Pittsburg Zoo where my Star Wars figures were thrown away by the school bus driver and then I was yelled at for having them on the bus. Oh well, it is nice to see some childhood toys have been saved.
-
That is a nightmare of a story, Shawn.
No wonder you are a moc collector.
-
Yeah, my kids only take away the loose ones too...
-
I've been reminded lately at how COOL (asked him to join the yard a few days back) this guys stuff is .
http://cgi.ebay.com/CUSTOM-MICROMAN-RC-COMMANDO-TROOPER-Urban-camo-SEV_W0QQitemZ360157041863QQihZ023QQcategoryZ50262QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem.
To that effect I picked up a Microman, and will begin trying to figure out how he created his RC. So we'll see how it turns out.
He has a how to here: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/The-Custom-Toybox/Microclone-how-to-by-Stitch-Fett.html
Probably take me close to a month or more to complete this since I have two ships I'm working on atm.. but hey.. why not start a thread anyways!
Thanks for looking.
Sten
-
Wow, that is a great custom. Can't wait to see you pull this off. Hope we see the fellow show up, thanks for inviting him.
-
He is a member here.
-
He is a member here.
Oh yeah, I remember seeing a Stitch Fett as a new member, but haven't seen any posts yet. With items that good I hope he does!
-
I've seen those too. Way to pricy for my range. But I understand the price because the microman figures have gotten so pricey, as the entire line was scrapped.
I believe that he might have hollowed out a regular figure and put the pieces over the microman. Probably some sculpting involved as well. At least that is how i would go about recreating the figure...
can't wait to see what you pull off.
-
Looks fantastic and tons of bonus goodies always a plus.
-
the replacaple/swapable hand sculpts are something all microman figures had
-
I've seen several of his customs and they're great looking, this Clone has a cool paint app but I've never been a fan of Microman joints. I've had decent luck kitbashing SW parts to create SA figures in the past.
-
I have a few micromen still in box. . .hmmm.
Devin et al, Brian has a tutorial on the ST6 boards for adding articulation to the commando figures, if you are interested.
-
I remember seeing these and reading his how to.
these all looked awesome... commandos and ARCs all given ridiculous super articulation and just breath taking paint aps.
I for one am looking forward to seeing more.
-
Ok I'm back at it.. it's CLONE TIME!!
I was able to pick up these 4 figures at the local kids clothing consignment store for $3 bucks.
I'm going to make a Clone Sniper Team out of the Droid, Ewok and ARC trooper. Full camo, with a Vehicle.
I am going to use the Ewok as the "Tracker" the droid as the slicer and the vehicle to haul them all around.
Don't know what I"ll do with OB yet = )
I should have some more pics later tonight.. I have the base coat drying now!
-
That is a bargain if ever I heard of one.
-
People are find great deals lately. Looking forward to seeing how this team pans out.
-
So base coat is on, and now I'll start the camo look tonight or later today.
Image #1 is the high speed Single Clone All Terrain Transport (SCATT) -COPYRIGHTED!! :P
Image #2 Clone Sniper (no name yet)
Image #3 Sniper Cloak
-
I like that color that you are using, Sten. Is that the same color that you used on your gunship or is it something darker?
-
Same color.. I have two cans of the stuff =) and I've really fallen in love with it. I'm going to do an ATTP (sp?) in this color.
-
I made some progress today, more tonight!!
Image 1-3 SCATT progress
Image 4 helmet with new optics.
=)
Tonight I'll work on adding camo to the clone.
Future plans include a custom sniper rifle with case that attaches to the droid and the SCATT.
-
Cool customs cant wait till they're done
-
Looks excellent keep em comin mate.
Ron
-
paint job looks good so far dude, keep it comin!
-
Just a little update!
Completed the paint job on the Ewok Scout and the sniper cloak. I also finished the custom Sniper rifle.
Only left to do is some detail work, and the droid.. though I'm still debating color.. and the time investment :P
-
I like that rifle! NICE looking gun right there.
-
Yep,, that gun turned out great! I like the looks of that cloak, also.
-
that sniper looks sweet, and the cloak and the ewok look nice!
-
just a minor update wip. just about done now.
-
Oh yeah, those are turning out cool!
-
Wow, these are gonna be great. Well they already are. Hmm....
-
looks awesome sten
-
These are awesome sten
-
Everything looks great, Sten!
-
The next awesome camo clone.
great job
-
I just love your custom Ysanne Isard - as already told you in your Picasa Album - and would love to do some artwork in the near future using this character - if you give me permission, of course.
Great work!
-
Pretty cool stuff man. I like the scout trooper you use as your avatar.
-
Nice work on that clone sniper.
-
Well it has been some time since I last painted a figure.. hasn't it? Anyways.. as a birthday gift to myself I picked up one of the Scarif Shoretroopers.. found a cool costume reference that was in the movie, but not on shelves and repainted..
I have the before, the reference, comparison and some detail..
-
a few more "detail" shots..
-
There ain't no rust there! Wow! Off to share.
-
Really nice paint apps on this figure; it turned out well.
-
....and I'm back! Yes.. with the release of SOLO and the new Black Series Young Chewbacca (190 yr/old) I thought I would repaint him.. so.. without further banter.. I give you.. "Before" and "After".. I used about 7 shades of brown, white, black and silver and of course washes and dry brushing. Enjoy!

Nice, very nice. Off to share.
And good to see you back.
-
Sweet! That's an excellently realistic looking Chewie! Wow...I mean the eyes...the fur...the blaster...just everything looks so darn good! Thanks for sharing and have a good SOLO weekend!
- Philipp
-
That is an awesome SOLO Chewie.
The weathering on the fur and the weapon is phenomenal.
Excellent work.
-
Wow love that 0/ 0// .... Just found a bag of a dozen (?) TFA 6" chewie's I really love that figure. Good to see that these repaint well (any tips?).
Fantastic job. Really love your work in this thread.
-
Absolutely excellent paint applications. Chewie looks amazing!
