Re: Luke Sprywalker Customs Updated Happy New Year with Star Wars Apocalypse!
« Reply #1275 on: January 01, 2012, 08:33:32 PM »
Guys I have been sick and unmotivated for a while, I am glad to say I am feeling much better. I had planned some Christmas photos for you guys as I lit my new AT-AT but that time seems to have passed. Today was the first day at my desk in around a few weeks and I was able to finish the fourth Highti. So I have a group photo for you and individual pics will be soon to follow. Also a pic of some weaponry I made to replace the bulky stock weapons in previous shots.

Here is the only before shot I have.

Really cool.  Is that a modified Leonard Nimoy head?

I love the details in his headdress: the bits and pieces you used and sculpted in here look fantastic.  Another amazing piece of work; definitely something that makes me aspire to do better in my custom work.

Light side, dark side...meh.  Just give me a lightsaber and a blaster and I'll take care of it!

Great work Luke! - the clan looks awesome and the paintwork works very well especially with the skin tones. The way the material is weatherd on the Chief - did you do that with a dremel? (sorry if the questions was already answered).

Thanks for the warm responses guys. Glad everyone thinks they fit the bill for the desert planet we will see next in Star Wars Apocalypse.

Brian, yes, that is the "old Spock" head from the latest film.

Dayton, thanks so much! That is a huge compliment as I am really trying to get closer to your paint style. The next step is I need to buy a headset magnifying glass with light, never used one before. I used 4-5 different colors to achieve the various skin tones on all of these. Also dry brushed the last 2-3 colors to get that weathered look. You are correct, I used a dremel sanding wheel on the clothing to achieve that tattered look.

Next up is a lighter skin tone Hijhti that comes with a custom made vibro sword.

Here is a young Hijhti featuring a custom Vibro Axe.

This guy you have seen before but now he has a custom long blaster.

Jules, thanks buddy! I am just interpreting Nate's awesome character descriptions so everyone should give him props too!

Clint you are exactly right and thanks for saying so. I enjoy creating these original characters more than anything.
