Thanks for this. The video was very helpful.
I actually did a couple of figures. The only thing I didn't like about mine was the "hybrids" were too tall.  They're supposed to be clones so, i modified their lower legs.  I'll post pics soon.

Nice work, Maunster! See Devin, your tutorials are rubbing off on these guys.
  I like how that bacura head looks on that snow cobra. I see a bunch of ROC joe figures on sale for $5.50 today at a Target. I may have to go back there and grab some.

that is briliant!  definately thinking outside the box and not something I would have thought to do... which is odd because that is pretty much how the 80's style joe's have their legs made...
man that probably gives it a little better posability too, one thing I don't like about my technique is you loose that rotational plane at the knee that you have from the peg/swivel joint of normal star wars construction.

that snow clone looks amazing... and dare I say it... but he looks 100% better than my concept version of a "Snow clone".   I'll let you look up that travesty on your own.  (ok... it wasn't horible but it wasn't my best figure.  Dawn painted it and the paint job was phenomenal... I've put it on e-bay 4 times now and had no hits at all though....)


man... I'm loving this.  imitation is the highest form of flattery though....
but beware, imitation is also suicide (according to ralph waldo emmerson!)... I love that you took my concepts and made them your own and adjusted them to fit your style and need...

I like your snow trooper as well as your other customs.

that leg is a reposted image of how "maunster" constructed the knee joint in his hybrid gi-joe star wars figure.  Instead of reusing the double knee joint of the joes this was his solution.

I actually like it better in some ways because you don't have to put the peg through the SW leg... it's always something that bugged me as it was another noticable part.  With his method of just flipping the existing star wars peg around you eliminate that visible peg AND you get 360 deg. rotation of the bottom half of the leg, which you don't get if you use the gi-joe knee joint....

My middle daughter - Keke of garage infamy - was looking over my shoulder and asking about the leg parts.  I explained Spud and Maunster are working out techniques to work the Joe parts into a SW fig to create "ultra-"articulated figs.  She wants me to pass on her enthusiastic "Good luck, guys!" because she says Maunster's figs look really good!

I have to agree.  And I suspect I'll be picking up those techniques for my own figs, as well.
